See you've just summed up the PL for 80% of the teams in it. What is the point for most of the clubs in the PL. The last three years have been great becuase we had a realistic chance of achieving something other than avoiding relegation.

Pompey down as it stands? I was hoping Coventry would stay up but as it stands I now think they need to be relegated by the time they come to SMS as it could well come down to the final game at this rate.

Shame Lee got injuried would have been that player I reckon, failing that a fit Lee Barnard might have been that player this season. Still three games to go we've got to work with what we've got we will limp over the finish line before WHU I reckon ALF or no ALF.

Alot of free kicks though for them (when was the last time we scored from a frre kick?) probably explains Jason Roberts willingness to go down so easily just to give Harte a crack at goal.

No agree about the bench last night not sure why we had three defenders out of five players.....Clearly we are missing Jonno quick. Still don't think that means we were wrong not to buy ALF.

Why does that matter? He has scored 11 (the same number as the "usless" Guly) this season, a decent enough player, but just becuase he scored the winner against us hardly means we dropped the ball with regards to not signing him.

Agree though Reading seem to have done very well on it. It's not new though every game you hear people shouting "get the ball up field saints!"

I keep hearing this............. but we're the top scorers in the league and we had something like twenty shots last night to Readings 6 so I'm not sure it's a valid criticism to be honest

We have four players in our team who have scored as many as or more goals than him this season ........as a result I won't lose to much sleep over it to be honest

Butterfield was our best player in the back four last night if anyone should have come off it was Danny "I don't like to tackle" Fox with his completely awful passing. I do agree we used Butterfield to much in the last 20 minutes though almost like we had run out of ideas other than balls to the back post.

Well we seem to be doing our best to do a typical saints at the moment.... Blackpool, Pompey and Reading all rather typical saints one way or another..... Still all in our hands though.......

Well he made Jose look like a six year old girl tonight and I haven't seen anyone do that before. But he went down after soft challenges five or six times and was litterally pulling the shirt of Joses back several times which the ref wasn't interested in. Maybe Lambert needs to be nastier.

Bollix....I really wanted to be champions...can't see it now automatic promotion is still very much on I think. Thought Reading were very ordinary as a team but worked hard seems they just punt it down the channels for pacy types to run onto much like tyro league under 11s. Jason Roberts is a diving and fouling c unt though Difference was finishing they did we didn't. We made more than enough chances to win that game. Fox was awful absolutely shocking and Butterfield was pretty good but why did we persist with giving the ball to Butterfield, for the last twenty miniutes, to just aimlessly punt into the Reading box were 3/4 of the Reading team were waiting for it we need to try something else rather than just hoping Lambert would get a free header. On the bright side I need to get used to this sick,dissapointed ****ty feeling when saints lose if we make back to the PL so this lose tonight is good trainning.......now where did that cat go....

I know funny how having a top scorer on 9 goals is seen as a good thing having one on 26 goals means you're a one man team...........

My dad gave me a football signed by David Armstrong when I was about 6 I loved that ball couldn't believe a saints player had signed it. Still don't actually remember much about Armstrong other than he had no hair
