Southampton vote against financial fair play

I think the best 11 , for each game, is clear to Nigel which is all that counts (he hasn't got it wrong to often). The fact that 3000 saints fans on here can't agree on a best 11 shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone.....

Well I have and they don't............FACT

Is Anyone Else Not Bothered If We Don't Go Up?
doddisalegend replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
The thing about Newcastle, who have done amazingly (I always knew Pardew was a good manager....) is can they keep it up for a second season... chances are probably not. There's always one team that has a good one off season (us in 2003?) and sure that would be fun. It's just being in a league were you can automaticly discount finishing in the top 6 is less appealing than being in a league were you have a chance of winning it. -

I know a lot of people hated league 1 but I did enjoy being the big boys. The way we felt about visiting teams like Yeovil and Brentford that's the how most in teams in the PL will look at us.... -

Or we could just stagnate in the PL. In all honesty we're never going to challenge for the title or a CL spot in the PL so that leaves us trying to become someone like Stoke a comfortable mid table side hoping for a cup run (providing it doesn't endanger our mid table league status). -

That sums it up pretty well IMO -

I've said before there's a lot about the PL that really doesn't turn me on. Like you there are quite a few downsides for me personally.........but the club needs the PL to have any chance of progressing -

It's weird as one of those who grew up not really knowing saints outside of the top flight I thought that day was the worse thing that could happen ......one thing that being relegated taught me was there was football life outside the PL (bearing in mind I was one of those mindless fans that was brainwashed by the PL PR) -
So if a team gets more than 6 million in debt they will recive a fine that could run into millions .....how does that make sense? you have no money so we will fine you? I'm guessing the fine money goes to the football league?

I thought MoN ditched Villa becuase they wouldn't back him in the transfer market? Seems a bit hollow if they were the biggest spenders in europe 2 seasons running.
-
Did a WHU fan just say we're like Barcelona.....I suppose compared to how WHU play we might well look that good to them........
-
I'm guessing you mean St Helens Rugby Club aren't on the telly next saturday....becuase Southampton FC are

Problem is no one will pass to DeRidder or play the right sort of balls for him instead saints players will look at Steve stood in oceans of space and then bang another long angled ball straight at Lambert surronded by oppostion defenders instead.
-
Of course they are, up to a point, if you've got the money to spend on one game (and one game only) who would you rather watch saints play Chesterfieid or Man Utd? There are some that won't care but a lot who will. You pays your money you takes your choice unless your well off enough to be able to go to every single game.
-
You know that's the truth a big match is defined by the occassion (ie promotion) or the oppostion (ie Man U). Some people are more interested in the oppostion than saints. That's what the "we need a 46,000 seater staduim" crowd are banking on that lots of fans who weren't bothered about watching saints vs burnely will be falling over themselves to get tickets when Chelsea come to town.

I want QPR to go down...not sure why just dis-like the way they've gone about things the last couple of seasons. If Villa were the other team to go down I'd find quite ammusing would that be all the claret and blue teams in the championship next season if it happens?
-
Listening to it on the radio last night the tatters said that the sending off helped Chelsea as they just sat deep and refused to chase Barca and the ball. Barca where allowed the ball but couldn't do anything with it.
-
Fair play Chelsea thought they'd get stuffed.......reckon Di Matteo study the Saints-Oldham game 2009-2010 season for lessons on how to park a bus... Newcastle are going to gutted if they stay in 4th and then lose out on the Champions League becuase Chelsea win the final.
-
Maybe but is that any different to every other club in the country? It would be nice to see a packed SMS every game, all those wigs and foam hands would be a glorious sight to behold, but it probably won't happen some games just don't turn people on.
-
Yep all those things are true so it's hardly a surprise that people who only go to a few matches a season would pick this one over say posh away ot ipswich at home is it?
-
Really is a nasty little **** isn't he? and has probably f ucked up any chance chelsea had of beating barca
-
Puncheon and SDR are proper wingers and as such are totally wasted the way Nigel likes to play with the diamond and narrow midfield. As such it should be Guly all the way...... Unless Nigel decided to play 4-4-2 with two pacey wingers in which case Punch and SDR might play....but I'm pretty sure that won't happen
-
Unless the winner is coventry ...were they don't really get anything. Quite frankly if our boys aren't pumped up to win this game, against one of the worst sides in the championship that we've beaten twice already,...then they don't deserve promotion.
