  1. Brum have started slow (no surprise) but they just hammered Millwall so I don't think they'll be a push over. Mind you at home I fancy us to win. I'd like to see Martin in for Hayfield and Richardson/Butterfield at rightback rather than cork other than that same team as last week (and hope fox has been working on his denfesive duties in trainning). Until Our back four is sorted and settled we are going to leak a few at the back luckily we have the ability to score plenty so I wouldn't be surprised at another 3-2
  2. We've done pretty well in the cups since the take over long may it continue, Cups are a nice break from the league. Wonder if Chappers will get a run out and what sort of reception he will get from the Preston fans?
  3. I was upset at the time AP went but it's all worked out for the best (even for AP) I'm very happy with the way things are going under NA.
  4. Exactly we weren't flying by any stretch of the imagination but we had won 2 games, drawn 1 and lost 2 (one of which was a complete mugging the other against a good PL side). That Wilkins couldn't manage even 1pt out of three games (and got us knocked out of the JPT) with the players avaliable speaks volumes about his ability as a manager. I remember being at SMS against Rochdale when Wilkins took off Oxo and replaced him with Mills to a chorus of "you don't know what your doing".
  5. Yep on loan at Lincoln town before that at the same time as Pulis.........
  6. each to their own mate be boring if we all liked the same thing..................
  7. I didn't want admin at the time. Of course if someone had told me a swiss billionaire and his Italian bank manager were lined up to take over I wouldn't have been worried. At the time though I figured we'd end losing SMS and playing on Southampton common in the blue square. In fairness Stockport went into admin at the same time as us and look were they are now, by the grace of god and all that.......
  8. Yep get the feeling he has been involved in same way every since he got injuried under AP there have been refrences to him trainning with the team before.
  9. Interesting that this piece on Nigel Adkins on the BBC website seems to have turned into a little Brighton/saints spat on the comments section below it....... http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2011/09/the_adkins_diet_gets_saints_in.html#297164
  10. None None None Mostly I wear DM boots........
  11. She is pretty fit though.....I'm just not sure prevoius experince in the fashion industry is going to help her run a football club.....
  12. The only problem I have with Brighton is their manager and his over active mouth. Still Brighton fans seem to think the same about our Nigel so I suppose we're even....
  13. What ever happened to him?
  14. APs first season we had a midfield crisis (injury, suspension etc) I made a post suggesting playing Mills at LB and moving Harding into Midfield (as a temperory solution). Got chewed out by the forum experts that no manager worth his salt would play a defender in mid field or vice-verse they had a point......
  15. What amazed me was how quickly Wilkins could make them so crap.............
  16. Know the feeling, there's a lot I hate about the PL
  17. Yep needs RJ next to him and we will be fine.
  18. Yep I agree. I think it helps that a lot of our players feel (it seems to me) grateful for the chances SFC has given them coming from the lower leagues/ through youth system/ or off the scrapheap (ala Harding) they've seen the other side of the coin and realize they're onto a good thing at SFC. I suppose the higher up the leagues we go we will encounter more big time charlies.
  19. Different things I'd say Puncheon was an arse at trainning (or so the rumour goes) hence the treatment. Barney was in the wrong place at the wrong time ( although how much he was to blame hasn't yet been established) there is no indication that Barney has ever given less than 100% on the pitch or at trainning or ever fallen out with NA.
  20. This ^^^ I was gutted when AP went. When Nigel arrived I didn't really know enough about him to get excited by his appointment. When we got promoted last season I was still of the opinion Nigel had done well but getting out of league one wasn't a massive achivement (I know others felt different) and that how we did in the champ was the important thing. This season Nigels proving what he's got and I'm very happy about it as we're exceeding well beyond my expectations. I'm pretty sure NA is going to become a saints legend TBH.
  21. Good post I would say though that we've played that way all season (at least at home) and haven't struggled that much. Now it could be forest are just a better standard of opposition or it could be the make shift nature of the defence (or both) but yesterday was one of our worst defensive displays in a while (that I've seen)
  22. Thing is though all the forest fans on their forum reckon it was a stonewall peno (which they would) according to the forest fans at SMS kelvin took their players ankles out. The Wally with Brolly is just telling his fans what they want to here ,that they were robbed, better than saying my choice of subs screwed us.
  23. He was in Hobbycraft on Friday afternoon buying art supplies (guess he needs something to fill his time?)
  24. He's already played in the champ before though hasn't he?
