It’s not lack of desire it’s being told how to play, where to stand and precisely what to do that’s killing us ...
-
Are you Pellegrino ????? REDMOND cannot play on the LEFT !!!!!!! At ALL EVER!!!! TADIC is only effective on the left EVER !
-
Another really weird team from the guy with no idea what the hell he up to.

Sorry we are mostly defensive from 10 minutes in. Tactics from the start of games do not allow players to be able to move to positions on the pitch where space exists, this is very easy to see if you watch the game very closely and don’t always just follow the ball. The players are actually instructed to run into the contested and marked centre of the pitch when we are in possession. Yes this will tire them out as as soon as the opposition have possession they are instructed to run back into space - yes it’s as stupid as it sounds and must wear the players out just acting under tiresome instructions alone but we are definitely not fit iether.... Christ we don’t even close down or press and we flag in the second half!

Certainly all the evidence points to Vvd telling it how it is. We are blatantly unfit.... Still, nothing will change so might as well be apathetic about the whole coaching nightmare that is taking place....
-
Eh ? A post not in context with the messages on the thread ... People recounting their experiences of crowd trouble, hardly a reason to close a thread or get high blood pressure.......
-
There are some pretty rose tinted glasses or sarcastic comments on here about the day. It was hostile and there were plenty of mostly Utd fans looking for trouble .... There were groups of them after the game running between coaches, they did get on a couple near ours after the game. It was pretty scary at the time particularly after being held a knifepoint earlier before the game.... I wouldn’t trivialise the trouble and atmosphere that day...

Was surrounded by Utd ‘fans’ and had ticket, scarf, rosette and wallet taken off me at knife point. Pretty evil people....

Please sack this utterly useless manager now -
This idiot has completely lost it!

It was indeed a great moment winning the cup but definitely wouldn’t swap the Premier League for it.
-
Survival Relegation would set us back years... There is a rash over confidence with many that first we could win the cup and second that we would bounce straight back up having lost a whole bunch of players again and with a completely useless Manager. We simply have to stay in this division....

Here’s an idea........ Get the manager to coach him! Oh sorry he can’t do that can he so let’s just do what we are doing and accept mediocrity from both of them......

Pellegrino: Under Pressure Footballers are taking Sleeping Pills
captainchris replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
The more time passes the more rediculous Pellegrino becomes... What is he doing ? Discussing players sleeping habits/ problems while he has a heap of other more pressing issues of his own to worry about and explain is iffinately more important. Does he really believe we will be sucked in by such lame excuses? Has he completely lost the plot? How does he have time to even think about discussing sleeping pills in any form to the public... The guy is not focussed on the relevant pressing issues of his team. He doesn’t plan, he doesn’t have contingencies, he can’t fathom tactics, his team are unfit, most certainly they are not motivated. Most certainly individually and as a team there is no evidence of good coaching at all and yet amongst these and a plethora of other glaring ineptitude’s the Manager finds time to discuss players sleeping patterns! He just seems to be somewhere else all the time. He doesn’t see the same games as the rest of us, his words and actions are strange. The world revolves but he seems be oblivious to what’s going on around him and unable to properly focus on anything. I am sure a psychologist would nail the problems very quickly but surely this just cannot continue. The muddled thinking off the pitch which we see won’t be any different in the changing room and we know it’s no different as a consequence on the pitch. He needs to be taken out of the situation quickly and replaced with a determined, focused person who is of strong mind, has an awareness of priorities and is able to technically coach and motivate non of which can our present ‘Manager’ do adequately... -
Pellegrino: Under Pressure Footballers are taking Sleeping Pills

This is the correct response to yet more nonsense from Pellegrino who has a habit of putting up smoke screens and talking jibberish ..... What the hell is he doing going public over such a matter! If it’s a problem sort it out - it’s your job, if it’s not then don’t blab about it and get on with your job ...... God knows you bloody need to knuckle down mate and concentrate on your priorities - you have quite a few in case you may have got distracted! Idiot ... -
I am not sure where you get this ‘stuck to the touch’ line thing? When we gain procession on the edge of penalty area with opposition on the attack we have no outlet. The reason is that whilst the opponents have the ball our wide players are actually wide, however as soon we gain procession our wide players - under obvious instructions run as fast as possible towards the congested and therefore marked area of the Centre Circle. It’s totally bizzar and is a perfect example of Pellegrino muddled thinking and tactics. The guy hasn’t a clue what he is doing ...

It’s nothing to do with buying more players though. It’s managing what we have and that is a basically a shambles. The whole manage structure is a complete inconompetent mess.
-
Being a ‘small Club’ !!!! Being tactically incapable. Persisting with mediocrity as a satisfactory management and coaching strategy. Being unfit. Burying our head in the sand. Having no ambition. Persisting with failing senior directors.
-
Nah - standard practice with this knob to sub our best player!
-
That is a strong possibility and more worrying that my scenario to be honest!
-
Two things: It’s taken him months to ‘stumble’ on his best team! Take note Pellegrino from a far superior manager who has a tough Champions League game mid week but still fields a full strength team today!!!!!! This is how you play your best football son.... Your rotation policy for no reason has got us into this mess.... Big teams do not rotate out their best players like we do and they have far more to choose from and far more games to play....
-
Congratulations - one of the few on this subject actually talking sense. A very very poor player carried by the other 10 around him....
