Not really sure Fox defended at all but there...
-
I am now beginning to understand that you don’t actually watch games at all. People with a different opinion to you are not ‘Clever Dicks’ they usually just have a better understanding of the game than you.
-
Truly dreadful positional sense with no clue where his designated attacker was at any given time.... You always wanted to shout ‘he’s behind you’ ( you stupid *****) !
-
Just seen Chris Colman at the airport flew in with wife and kids ....... Just saying .... ..
-
This is why Cortese didn’t want the old school around interfering, having their opinions and influences - he was right. Matt is given a status and privileges at the club which have been clouding his judgment for a while now. Whilst he was indeed a great great player for the club the slide towards intimacy with the board in the face of blatant total incompetence is a pity... They are all far too cosy which only increases the arrogance and thence poor decision making at the top.

Just how on earth by any stretch of the imagination is he still here??? Where and how is there any justification to have not sacked him???? It’s really totally totally unbelievable.
-
You are not agreeing then! Portvliet is a far superior Manager to this imposter.
-
Let’s get something straight here. Portvliet had a load of 18 year olds to pick from and we played some good football with them considering... This guy has a squad of internationals and highly expensive experienced players capable of finishing top ten. You cannot this dummy with that Management team. This guy is clearly clueless but the buck stops with his employers you have to say.
-
Are you serious !!! Of the Manager is managing the team and the disruptive, defensive substitution changes! It’s not the tea lady is it????
-
Do you mean our manager....? That would be doubtful.....
-
I think you will find it was something to do with being in the bottom three actually... Not so sure it wasn’t a good thing though at the end of the day.... Maybe we can do better....
-
Excellent observations not picked up by our Manager ...
-
Are we going to stand and watch every time they attack!!!
-
We are not coached at all to defend. Zero coaching. We stand off and let them do what they like just outside our box... Pathetic non existent coaching
-
Whilst your logic has some merit it only points even more to position we are in. Bottom three is most definitely a massive cross against coming here and much more powerful that the natives making some negative noise ... We are in the bottom three for s very good couple of reasons and nothing has been done. Indeed senior management seem almost totally oblivious. So calm and logical as your idea might be this is a crisis in football terms now and it’s time for the uprising The big dissuading issue is not the crowd it’s bottom three and bottom of the form League in the whole country.... Walcott is a shining example of that!
-
Apologies for that last ridiculous statement... I do realise MP doesn’t understand tactics at all...
-
Interesting take ..... You do know that MP follows an al complete opposite ‘tactic’ that which you offer?
-
Which ever way you look at this it’s starting to smell....
-
Not sure that stacks up. Pellegrino has radically changed the team on the back of thebodd good performance...
-
With respect that is not the ‘biggest thing’ that is wrong...

Nicola Cortese wants to return to English footie
captainchris replied to Delmary's topic in The Saints
I tend to concentrate on the end product and that faultless. He invested wisely in the training ground ask Ralph - he loves it! Cortese was a winner, ruthless but also didn’t suffer fools... He wasn’t interested in history only the future. He didn’t encourage blind ass licking ex SFC pros but he picked winners and without him our meteoritic rise probably wouldn’t have happened like it did. We have ridden his wave ever since. I didn’t like some of the things he did at the time, however I was wrong and he was right... We are now saddled with an ex this ex that out of touch clumsy rather amateur unambitious small minded part time leader and we are seeing the result in technicolour right now.. -
There are several ‘facts’ in my post if you care to read it....
-
I think we can assume that Walcott would have liked to come back here, however our negotiations yet again failed abysmally. It is also safe to assume that Walcott knows a thing or two about what is going on down here and our relentless ‘march’ towards relegation... We obviously wanted him and he was our priority target of that there is no doubt also.... To put up some kind of smoke screen for the reasons we didn’t actually get him here is stretching the imagination. Yet again we did not ‘manage’ the situation and to top it all we have a Manager most decent players would make the same decision about... So how do you propose we entice new players here with out of touch negotiators and an appalling manager?
-
I don’t think you understand the tactics and coaching which Pellegrino employs are the reason that there is no outlet for a pass as described in one of my earlier posts. Pellegrino is 100% responsible for delivering our coaching and tactics the last time I looked.... Now the chickens really are coming home to roost with Walcott choosing BFS and Everton over us..... How long will senior management sit on their hands and allow the clueless one to continue??? Clueless about tactics, clueless about coaching and It appears clueless about fitness too.....
-
Pelligrino is completely blind to what is happening tactically in a match. He asks (tells) our ‘wide’ midfielders to run to the centre circle and take a ‘marked’ position in the densely crowded centre of the pitch. This means we have no outlet from our defensive midfielders when we gain procession. This means we either hit it long and hopeful or pass it to a marked wide player who is stood in the centre has no outlet and gets immediately dispossessed unless that player can recycle the ball back to the defensive midfield or drfender who is by now being pressed by opposition attackers so has no outlet and repeat.... Pellegrino is so far out of his depth it’s frightening....Our ‘tactic’ is to be standing in a ‘marked’ position and not to support the team mate on the ball.. It is moronic and not even as good as pub football ... To gain some perspective let’s compare for one moment this guy with Pochettino........... Now let’s see if Pellegrino matches up in any single element of his performance compared to him..... Interesting exercise .... Now discuss why we are persevering with blatant incompetence ????
