Now that is abusive ! Thank you!
-
An opinion is not necessarily ‘abuse’ if he’s crap then fans are entitled to say so. He is a ‘terrible’ There you are, more abuse for you.
-
If Hughes picks Hoedt for the next game then we have a massive problem for this season. There is little hope if he can’t see the guy is way off PL standard.
-
Sensible move, he needs game time. Watched him the other night in under 23s and he was really quite short of first team standard in that one.
-
Oh ‘simplistic’ ..... Really... If it’s about individual mistakes then you can put one of your choices for your midfield right up there. Romeu has been very poor for a long time now... Clumsy, slow of thought and well short of the required level. Not fit to clean Wanyama’s boots.
-
Though I’d like to Gabbiadini In we really do need to flood the midfield and build from there at the moment.
-
Nailed !
-
So you actually think Romeu is good enough just to clarify?
-
Why are are successive managers blind to Gabbiadini and his skill - are they stupid? Why are successive managers hell bent on playing Hoedt who is by any stretch of the imagination crap !
-
Strange line up again, even allowing for illness and injury.... If Hoedt is better than Yoshida then - well ..... we need to control the ball up there so definitely would have had Gabbiadini instead of Austin..... Romeu again - not sure either ... It was an odd selection last week to start with too....
-
Several references to keeping it tight at Everton by Hughes ..... Back five again or bluff ... ?
-
Come on Saints go positive, this is very winnable ....
-
Valery about the only one who looks remotely like making it out of that bunch. Disappointed with Sims.
-
Romeu upped it from pretty dire to something slightly better...Than dire. The critisism is justified he has been off the pace for a long time now.
-
Only just seen the team and can’t believe the selection - just weird...
-
Anyone but Romeu who is seriously just not good enough...
-
Good luck to him.... Well worth a go....

JWP is no world beater of that there is little doubt, however he is far more intelligent and skilful than a couple of others in our squad who spend most of the time giving the ball away or getting caught in pocession continuously. Personally I believe he is a bit unsung and pre season has shown how we need him and cannot afford to move him on. Now it’s strange no one is coming for Romeu wouldn’t you say. Perhaps because obviously he is not as good by quite s distance. Davis too is not attracting any coveted glances these two are both now off the pace for the first team, lose JWP too and you have a very patchy Lemina and Hojg to chose from and that’s it. We cannot afford one of only three viable midfielders to move on and probably the most consistent one at that.
-
Shame you cannot appreciate the value JWP brings to the team.
-
Agree with a lot of this... Not sure Romeu is good enough to be honest but JPW should be starting....
-
Romeu out, Davis out. Hoedt out. Would play Targett. Vestaguard and Yoshida and on balance Stephens in if a back three is utilised... Targett in, Jwp, Gabbiadini in and Armstrong in. Hojg in..... The rest much of a muchness really
-
Can I say this is bang on....
-
Personally would disagree by quite a distance.
-
Are you implying that Romeu is so good that he is an automatic in the team? Is he really that good?

Matt Targett - Joins Aston Villa (Official)
captainchris replied to Kaiser Soze's topic in The Saints
What an entirely negative view of a player who was really excellent last night and has rarely let us down even when he was relatively still inexperienced. We should keep and nurture Targett as a matter of priority. If you had blasted Davis, McQueen, Romeu or Hoedt in such a way that might be more understandable but Targett - take a look at yourself .
