Remember that the season will not be over until May. A lot will happen between now and then. As nige used to say "don't get too high when we win - don't get too low when we lose" A month ago Villa won at Liverpool and all their problems were apparently over. Things can change very quickly and a sense of perspective is always necessary.

Do us a favour TDD. Go out this morning and buy a pair of incontinence pants just in case we lose.
-
Likewise.

So presumably you now think 1 point from the next 8 games?? It is not hard to see why people think you are a skate.
-
Before the Stoke match last week, he confidently predicted no more than 3 points from the next 10 games. 2 games gone, 2 points earned. His predictions don't look too hot. For his sake, I hope he doesn't bet on football matches.

Dont ask about Delldays's crystal ball. It must be the most cloudy, useless bit of kit ever invented. Adkins was being sacked in October according to him. After the second game of the season Adkins was a deadman walking. Previous versions of the model had us languishing in League 1 and then the Championship for longer than we did. Whoever supplies him with crystal balls needs to find another job. Unfortunately TDD does not realise that his ball is useless and spouts so much rubbish based upon it.

Pompey are currently 33/1 to win tonight on Bet 365. Could this be an opportunity for Farmery to "jnvest" the PDT's ill gotten cash and to get them some decent funds for thetakeover?
-
what price are they?

Very, very true. I hate this obsession of the media to navel gaze at the same handful of clubs. It is one of the reasons why I try to keep clear from Sky and Talksport; When we bought Gaston, I was in the car and the only comment from the radio station I was listening to (5 Live I think) was to take the p i s s because he was born in Fray Bentos. We need another Keeganesque signing to make an impression. Walcott would be the sort of name that we would need to attract.

We could be about to have even more fun. Plymouth from League 2,scored how many, 4 was it, against the Pompey youth team ? Pompey conceded 5 on Tuesday. They now plan on playing more youngsters. I can see some real drubbings as the season progresses. What are the odds on the opposition in one game getting to double figures?
-
I think there will be some surprises to come. I confidently expect that 1 or 2 teams who have so far kept well clear of the relegation zone are going to find themselves in one heck of a relegation dog fight. It remains to be seen who strengthens and who does not in the transfer window but Newcastle for example are not going to be helped by selling Ba. I would be more confident in my predictions after 1 February but at the moment I would go for Reading, Villa and Newcastle.

This picture sums up for me the meaning of WTFILN. That terrace brings back unhappy memories. 2 defeats 1-0 were not fun. One game marked Ricky's Saints debut, The second was our last match pre Adkins. Haven't we come a long way in a short space of time?? WTFILN

A couple of Arsenal fans I know, slag Theo off at every opportunity they can. Sometimes it seems that he even breathes incorrectly to them.
-
I agree. Home to Chelsea must be a good time to see what the likes of Reeves and Hoskins are capabl e of. Similarly it would be nice to see Lee in the first team again.

We did miss lallana in the first match of the Christmas holidays aginst Sunderland. Who knows what could have been in that game if we had had his creativity. Having sad that, in Guly we do seem to have a good shape to the team.

I thought that both Chamberlain and Walcott showed class when they left the pitch. Both of them had not played well. Even when he swapped wings, Chamberlain got no joy from our defence. Theo did nothing special during the game - but both of them acknowledged the home fans when they left the pitch. Theo did almost a complete lap of the stadium. I appreciate that it is very unlikely but what a way for us to make an impact in the football world if we were to "bring Theo home" during the summer after his contact runs out.

Excellent post.

Has Adkins got anything right since the end of last season

A point at home to Everton??? I can't see that myself. How will we get a point at Wigan? If they win at SMS they are bound to beat us at their place. We will hit Villa just when they recover from their current bad patch. No points there either. In fact I cannot see us getting any more points ever again. Shall we just withdraw from the League like some other poster recommended a few weeks ago? -
I agree entirely about a lack of sympathy when their husbands hurt themselves!!a

She did. This is going to appear in the Snooze next week My Christmas day - by Neil Allen The turkey had died in vain !! Christmas was ruined. If only my wife had paid more attention to our mother when we were being brought up. Let me explain . It has been a tough year financially in the Allen household. I have had to contribute to the Trust to allow some rich blokes to buy Pompey so that they can become even richer. The editor doesn't like me. He takes the p i s s as I look like a nerd. He won't give me a bonus until I can understand the difference between a sentence and a paragraph. But then the murk started to clear and beams of light appeared.. People contributed well to the Remembrance Day poppy appeal. The collection boxes were full. It meant that we could afford a turkey. And boy what a turkey we got. It must have been the loyallest, most passionate and loudest turkey in the world. It was going to taste great. But then lady luck struck an awful blow. Just when the wife put it into the oven we realised how well the plucky boys in blue had done last Saturday. Hartlepool may be bottom of the league but last Saturday was their Cup Final . Our boys went up there and did not lose. They hang monkeys up there but our lads came back undefeated. Even the pools panel said that it would have been a scoreless draw. If that doesn't deserve a celebration then what does?? My wife immediately got stuck into Poundland's best cooking sherry, forgot the turkey and the next thing we realised was that the turkey was burnt to a cinder. Christmas was ruined. Luckily the next door caravan had a spare hedgehog so we didn't go hungry ... but what a Christmas Day!!

Nurses are the only thing in life you can truly depend on.

Who thinks that we are going to get relegated? Lose a game and all bladder control is lost by some of the contributors on here.
-
True - I suppose he is unique. I doubt if many residents of Pompey can read so we are probably the majority of his readership. "Special" might be another way to describe him. He does look a bit "special" - don't you think?
-
Its amazing how Neil Allen gets employment as a jounalist when clearly he doesn't know the difference between a sentence and a paragraph. Mind you , he probably does not get paid very much. He cannot afford to buy a share by himself. He has to club together with some of his work colleagues to be able to afford one. Perhaps if he had passed that O level in English he might be working somewhere better by now.

Who or what has been significant in our turnaround?
Tamesaint replied to up and away's topic in The Saints
Hmmm.... are you sure about that? I understood that Cortese insisted that was part of the contract. He is a bit of a hard nut when it comes to negotiating things like that.
