Richard Lee - fact 2 - He & his dad keep bees. So does Rupert's favourite mate Lord Marchand (or whatever his name is) ..... aka Sundance Beast (or at least some people think so).
-
Can the lowe luvvies answer one simple question. Would they continue the nonsense of paying the likes of John and Skacel to sit on their backsides doing nothing or would they play them in a team which is so clearly crying out for their experience?? ... and if they would play them can they please ask their hero to pick them in the team.

I am quite happy with us having Robertson in return for the handbag thief.
-
I think you are right - he was on the scene BEFORE we were relegated ...but he was only appointed as DoF after we were relegated. the first match of the relegation season was at Villa Park. I remember the MotD camera focussing on him sitting next to Rupert and it be commented upon that he was getting very pally with Rupert.
-
No . He hanged around with the England Rugby team for at least one season.
-
Rumour has it that our good mate Andrew aka Scooby is going to start the "Lowe Out" campaign at the next match. As for Sundance.... presumably he is composing his latest diatribe criticising the fans right now.

How can Lowe be messing about with the football team / coaching side?? We are told that he is only able to devote 2 days a week to the club. If he was involved at the club for just 2 days a week & was messing around on the football side he would probably not realise that our back four cannot defend , not realise that we cannot defend from set pieces, would probably forget to order penalty practice ..... Oh my god ... he must be messing around with the team.
-
But it is always more likely that a team will be relegated if its board ends up appointing 3 permanent managers in the same season like we did. Charlton managed the same feat a couple of years later. they clearly had not learntfrom Lowe's folly.

4 or 5? I have named 7 who have since gone on to play quite happily in the Premiership. Add the likes of Telfer (who went on to play in the Champions League) , Le Saux , Phillips and there is no way that that squad should have been relegated. If we had stuck with just one manager that season, if we had not appointed Wigley , if we had not then appointed a disinterested manager like Rednapp the players that we had would have had no trouble staying up that season. The managerial merry go round was what did it for us...and we all know who was responsible for that.
-
Many of those players have subsequently played / are playing in the Premiership with different teams so that team could not have been that bad. - Niemi, Beattie, Crouch, Quashie - even Higgy and Delap are in there now. Even loans like Camara have subsequently played well in the Premiership. A bettter bunch of managers (or even just 1 manager for the season) could have seen us stay up.

Were you the person who asked Jackie Kennedy whether apart from the shooting did she enjoy her visit to Dallas?? Your devotion to the "facts" ignores the "insignificant" fact that we got relegated under Lowe. I think that this is of much more relevance to the original post on this thread than comparing the mean average of 9 years before Lowe and 9 years after Lowe.
-
... and your source is???
-
Thanks Alpine. I am pleased that I am not the only one totally bemused by Warwick's logic.
-
Maybe... but Lowe was being paid handsomely at the time to make these decisions and he made the wrong one in this case. Beattie did leave - just 3 months after Sturrock.
-
I don't disagree with most of these but here's a new one. The daft decision to reduce players's pay by 50% once we were relegated. Our best chance of getting back up into the Premiership was in our first season down. Birmingham City have written the textbook on this one. What you need to do is to keep your squad together, strngthen one or two positions and then move back up. What did we do? We implemented this paycut and caused so many players to want to leave that there was no way that we had the teamspirit, the skill or the desire to get back up. By the end of the January transfer window that season we were back to square one and stood no chance of getting back up at the first attempt. Who implemeted this strategy .... guess who? Why ? To ensure that we did not suffer financially from relegation. Well that worked well didn't it.

Did the investment rumours kill off the fans?
Tamesaint replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
Interesting post and I think you are right that this has been a factor. Compare the hope and joy that the initial Paul Allen takeover generated with the current prospect of " cheer on the yongsters when you can 'cos if they are any good they will be sold at the next transfer window." Without investment the future looks bleak. With investment a la Paul Allen it would have looked brilliant. -
I feel really ashamed to be British when you see how this country is treating retired Ghurkas. If they were born before 1997 they do not have an automatic right to live in this country. It is OK for them to fight for us. It is OK fior them to die for us (45,000 did in the 2 world wars) but until last week when the High Court announced that the Government had to change the law, it was unlawful for them to live here in retirement. The Government still has to announce what it is going to do but I would not be surprised if they try to wriggle out of giving them full rights. Not many political campaigns get me excited but this one does. Well played Joanna Lumley for standing up for them. Well done on starting a petition to get the injustice rectified.

Don't expect an answer from Sundunce. He cannot afford a fiver and he has had his 3 strikes today so he is out until tomorrow. :-)
-
Very true. His user name at his own website is "scooby@....."
-
I reckon that Chris is only creeping round Scooby 'cos he wants to appear in Scooby's next film.
-
Its quite easy to find him on the web. Coming from Salisbury he probably is a Saints fan rather than a skate so there's a theory gone. Interesting that one of his favourite films is "The Manchurian Candidate." Isn't that the one where a politician gets manipulated by ne'er too goods who brainwash him? Perhaps that is what is happening now and he is the mastermind behind "Lord Lowe".
-
No way. Andrew C is a far more intelligent, well rounded person than "one track" Andrew Scooby.
-
Apparently he was outed on here a couple of weeks ago. Andrew is his Christian name.
-
Don't show off Andrew - just because you now have another friend.
