Demonstration for Swansea game- Time and place!!
Tamesaint replied to scott_saints's topic in The Saints
Nineteen Canteen is the new name for Sundance Beast. Sundance Beast was the new name for Flashman at the Charge. Flashman at the Charge was the new name for the The Third Bear. He changes his name every year - Rupert tells him to. Either that or it is some form of tax dodge!! He still cannot afford a fiver ... and he still has the same opinions. He supports Lowe - we support Southampton football Club. I don't think that he has cottoned onto that subtle difference yet. But he will one day. I wonder if Nineteen Canteen knows about Justin Fashanu?? -
Hi Sundance. Its Nineteen Canteen this time ?? Not Sundance Beast, Flashman at the Charge or the Third Bear. Do you change your name every January ?? I see though that you still cannot afford a fiver and are limited to 3 posts a day so your posts ramble on and on and on and ......... They are certainly a cure for insomnia. Pity you couldn't make it to SMS on saturday. I would have thought that a good fan of Southampton Football Club like you would have made it there. You weren't with Rupert by any chance were you ????
-
No it wasn't that. He had to leave early because he had a long standing family commitment that he could not duck out of - in the same way that he couldn't attend the AGM.

There was quite a demonstration after the game outside the main entrance. Others were taking photos / videos so there may be more on You tube. There must have been at least a couple of hundred protesters - although the club then proceeded to position every steward in the ground in front of the entrance . This club gets more like pre Glasnost Russia every day!! For me the saddest point of the demonstration came when the "Luntic Fringe" turned to the statue and chanted "there's only one Ted Bates." The demonstrators are true Saints supporters ... and Ted Bates must be turning in his grave looking at the current state of the club.

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years

And Sundance shoots himself in the foot yet again!!!! :-) :-) "Not many read Duncan's posts these days" .... oh no???? 36 hours ago he started a post remembering the old times and it is already into its fourth page. Just admiit it Sundance you know nothing about what makes a football fan tick. You know nothing about what being a Saints fan means. That is because you supprt Lowe - you do not support Saints. My dog is a bigger Saints fan than you .. and he has a Saints dog lead to prove it!! -
Time for some good old fashioned name dropping
Tamesaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
When I was 18 my parents lived in Birmingham. It was the season we got promoted and we had just bought Chris Nicholl from Villa. That September we played Millwall away and I went down to the match by train. We got stuffed (3-0 I think) but walking through the train on the way back to Brum, I walked through a carriage to see Chris Nicholl sitting by himself eating a banana. He still lived in Brum and was returning after the match. I asked him to sign my programme & we got chatting and ended up talking about football all the way back to Brum. When the train stopped at Coventry , 2 Middlesborough fans got on the train. Coventry had played 'boro that day and one of these fans had been arrested . They had been delayed and had missed their coach back. They joined our conversation and we had a good chat before we all got out at New Street. My last sight was of Chris Nicholl helping the boro fans find the right platform for their connection. At this time football hooliganism was rife but he was going out of his way to help the 2 boro "hooligans" get on the right train. Chris Nicholl was a real gent. I wonder if he would like to return now as a manager!! -

Hi Sundance. What I find most interesting about you is that you claim to be a football fan and a follower of Southampton but you know what, I don't think you are. A true Southampton fan would know that when Duncan Holley talks about writing ITN he is not talking about the news channel. Most Saints fans of your vintage (you admit to senior moments) would remember that one of our ex players hanged himself. After all it does not , thank god, happen to many of them. Any Southampton fan of your age would not see McMenemy in the same light as you. The man who got us into our highest ever league position, the man who won us the FA Cup and under whom European football became a habit would not be so vilified by a proper Saints fan. Tell me - did you support anybody in the '76 Cup Final ? I don't think you are a Southampton fan. I think that you are just a fan of Lowe. You are so desperate to support his viewpoint that you have become a joke. Its good to know that you are able to laugh at yourself. Rest assured most of this forum also laughs at you. Cheers Tamesaint -

Thanks a lot Sundance. A new week starts with a realy good laugh at Sundance Beast!! ITN means In That Number. The title of the booik is taken from a song which Saints fans sing. Didn't you recognise it? Perhaps you have not supported Saints for long enough to recognise it. Or doesn't Rupert let you sing in the free seats that he gives you?? By the way Sundance. Did you ever find out what Justin Fashanu is up to these days?? -
August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
Tamesaint replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
A dead give away of a plant is when they write something like " lowe may be a complete tossa but what you cannot dispute is ...." and then go on about how wonderful he is. Village did it here - from memory Lowe's plants were caught doing this before on S4E. Its almost as if they need to establish that they are anti Lowe before spewing up the guff that makes iit blatantly obvious that they think the sun shines out of his whatsit!! -

It may be ridiculous .. but I bet the PR agency Lowe is employing will pay him handsomely for writing this rubbish. -
How about: Rupert Scooby Sundance Beast Cowen Who would be the first one to pour Rupert a drink? Who would be the first one to offer to be Rupert's food taster?
-
Scargill? World War 1 generals?? Hmmm. Methinks you have been at the old grape juice this evening Sundance.
-
Ah well matey .. each to their own. Out of interest who did you support in the 1976 cup Final? Who did you support in the early '80's when Lawrie's team played some great football, when Saints finished second in the top tier and regularly finished in the top 6 ?? Or were you too busy playing hockey in those days to bother with football??

Was Rupert Lowe set up by the remaining Shareholders?
Tamesaint replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
I would like to think that you were right. But your scenario would require Wilde to grow a pair of bullucks.... & that isn't very likely. -
oh I forgot... the other thing that everyone agreed with was how crazy it is to have 3 quality strikers out on loan due to finance but then money is spent on half a dozen poor loan signings. Piut their wages together and hey presto you can afford a high earner. It is clearly far too obvious for our Rupert.
-
It was a good interview. There was David Pleat, Steve Claridge and Mark Pougatch talking to LM. It wasn't really a pop - more a laddish chat with which it was difficult to disagree. Certainly Pleat, Claridge & Pougatch ended up agreeing with comments that Lowe was not a football man but he is notorious for his loose cannon wacky ideas - eg Woodwood & now the Dutch duo..

Depends what time span you take. Saints shares have fallen over 50% since February. The FTSE has not fallen as dramatically. I guess that our share price is a better barometer of how the football club is doing / of how attractive we are seen in the football world than of the general economic, business climate. Despite Washsaint's view of us as muppets I would contend that a falling share price is more indicative of our general footballing worth than anything else.
-
Wrong. Share prices everywhere have dropped. They have started to bounce back. At today's level the FTSE has risen 20% in the last month. It is the SLH share price that is now bucking the trend. Please check your facts before you call everyone muppets.

Your style may have changed Sundance and your posts now make several interesting points. You however do continue to make one or two howlers which need to be corrected. 1. You continue to slag off the fans for not attending matches in their droves. You have been banging on this drum for several months now. Your post above for example compares us with Derby (a team just relegated from the Premiership who sold season tickets by the dozen at the start of the season on the promise of a quick return). However we had the fourth highest CCC attendance over the last set of matches played on Sunday / Monday. The previous set of home matches saw us register the highest attendance in the CCC that weekend. Of course we would like the attendance to be higher. Of course we want more fans but I do not think that our attendances are doing that badly considering the dross that has been served up this season. We got a higher gate on Sunday than a team like Cardiff - who are riding high in the league and are full of JCL's following their Cup Final appearance in May. We have the worst home record in the top 3 English divisions and were on a run of 4 consecutive defeats yet we still got a higher attendance than Cardiff!! Please think a little more before going down the "its the fickle fans who are ruining this club" route. 2. Crouch may have "only" offered a loan but why didn't Lowe match his offer? Why didn't Wilde , the main shareholder, come up with a similar sum? Crouch is a minority shareholder who is now not even sitting on the board. Are you seriously suggesting that you would expect a minority shareholder to pump extra cash into a business when the Board directors and the majority shareholders refuse to do so? Are you seriously suggesting that you would expect a minority shareholder to pump extra cash into a business when the current Board steer a course which he rejects? Crouch is a more successful businessman than Lowe (whoops thats another one of my businesses gone belly up) and Wilde (Merlion may be technically insolvent but if I shut my eyes it may go away) put together. Successful businessmen do not give money to people who then do not give them any say in how it is spent. One other point Sundance. Why don't you pay that fiver and join this forim as a full member? You would not try to cram so much into your posts and that way you would not be limited to just 3 posts a day . It would be easier to read what you want to say!! :-) :-)

New Year Messages for Michael Wilde here please
Tamesaint replied to Big Ron fan's topic in The Saints
Are you going to attend the next AGM?? Or do you already have another appointment on that date whenever it may be in 2009?? -
In my opinion your previous postings on this thread have been pedantic rubbish. You backtrack quicker than an Italian tank driiver & certainly hold strange views. HOWEVER I do agree entirely with what you say above. There were more Reading fans in their enclosure than Saints fans in the Northam yet apart from one or two occasions they were completely outsung by the Northam. We outsung them at the Mad Stad and they were outsung at SMS.

PMSL!! Were you still "celebrating" christmas last night by any chance? Hic! "I have not denied using the word muppet" versus your post no 36 "as for the phrase muppet, please enlighten me when I used that term". I have enlightened you as you have requested. Perhaps you will now admit that you were wrong!!
-
No. I did not get it wrong. You denied using the word muppet and asked where you had used that word. I told you. I know that you do not like being proved wrong but perhaps you will just have to admit it this time. ... and to get back to the original point, I do not understand how anyone who lives on Planet Earth would ever expect this thread NOT to be about Lowe.... so the thread does not need to be highjacked by "the anti-Lowe muppets"
-
How about post 36 in this thread where you talked about : "the anti-Lowe muppets hijacking this thread."

I agree that I thought the choice of music yesterday was bizarre. I wondered if anyone else noticed. I got into the ground about 7 minutes to kick off just in time to hear our team being announced. It was then announced that "here's some music to get you in the mood for today's game." What did we get?? "One world" by Queen? "The Saints come marching" by U2 // Skids?? Something similarly rocky to get us upbeat???? No we got "Uno Palamo Blanca" by singers resembling a Radio 2 male choir. It was music appropriate for a Sunday School game - not a CCC match. Admittedly we did get a couple of minutes of rock before "I am a cider drinker" boomed out loud and clear .... but come on please don't ask someone like my 76 year old father to choose the music before a match again.
