  1. Straitjacket rather than straightjacket is the normal, correct spelling of the word. If you are going to write tedious tosh, you could at least spell correctly.
  2. We will know more after Saturday but a team who I think could struggle im the second half of the season is Wolves. I am not saying that they will be relegated but the spread betting firms have them the equivalent of 50/1 to finish in the bottom 6. For them to finish lower the odds escalate (eg 100/1 to finish 5th from bottom). This seems huge odds to me. They have already played more matches this season than anyone else and their performance last night was described by many as "tired". They are beginning to suffer from injuries and have big European matches to come. No wins in the last 5 games, they dont look healthy to me. On the balance of things, whilst they will I think struggle in the second half of the season they will need to really plummet to finish 6th from bottom. However they should not be 50/1 and there is a slom possibility of a big payout here.
  3. Those two share a flat in London . I think that is where his fantasies start....
  4. I think that I agree with the main gist of what you say but it is not as easy as you claim. Yes lets look at the players we have sold to Liverpool. VVD and Mane have become world class but Lambert's and Clyne's careers nose dived after they left us. Lallana has lost his England place and Lovren is out of the Liverpool team more often than he plays. The money from Lallana gave us the money to buy Mane. We havent done too badly from our sales to Liverpool and not many of the players we have sold to them have fulfilled their potential. Football has a hierarchy. I want us to get higher in the hierarchy and I am sure that you do as well. We need however to be realistic and understand that without the owners of the likes of Chelsea and Man City sometimes you need to take one step backwards to take two steps forward.
  5. Its all right for me. I put an insurance bet on that they would be beaten. Bet 365 are closing my account as I have won so much.
  6. Quick Heisenberg. You can get 28/1 for one of your "insurance bets".
  7. I am not a health professional but as a matter of interest.... how many alcohol units do you think that you consume each week??
  8. I see that Long Bailey is the preferred candidate of Momentum. No surprise there as she considered Corbyn's leadership to be worth 10 out of 10. Their inability to "get it" is just staggering. Starmer appears to be the only grown up candidate I could see standing on the steps of Number 10. Apparently he is leading in polls of all members - not just Momentum. This country needs a credible opposition and I hope that he is still in the lead by the time the tortuous process is over.
  9. With odds of 25/1 now available anyone who topped up at 6/1 must be pig sick. Heisenberg... the bookies friend!!
  10. In 2015/16 when we last qualified for Europe we had 28 points from 22 games. Tonight we have 28 from 22 games. We ended the season on 63 points. That was a very good last 16 matches. Could we do the same this year? Is it possible to dream ?
  11. What a good forum we would have if Reinhard posted as often as Hypo.
  12. A positive 29 today here in Barbados ... yet the win still very welcome to warm the heart. What a win!! Totally deserved. Armstrong brings a lot to the team with his pace and energy. Ings my MOM.
  13. I am amazed that he was able to read your comment. The big girl's blouse gets so upset with people he doesn't like that he has over half this forum on ignore.
  14. So people who have different views to Hypo and Wes are either insane or incredibly naive. Hmm..... Wouldn't you 2 gents be better off living in a totalitarian state ??
  15. No. I mean May. I thought you would have liked Victorian times. "Chicks" didn't have the vote, kids were sent up chimneys and you could get completely rat a rsed for a couple of pence down at the "ale house". I guess that "Born too late" is your theme song.
  16. Whereas Johnson is an adulterous liar who was considered to be morally unsuitable to be leader by the previous PM.
  17. The candidates at this election are already being stereotyped. Corbyn's stereotype lost him many votes. Johnson's won him votes. Starmer's apparent problem is that he is posh and thus not fit to lead the Labour party when in fact he is not.
  18. Labour must never forget that many people of all classes aspire to become rich and successful. One of Corbyn's many faults was to keep on talking about taxing the rich ... and in so doing denting the aspirations of people to better themselves. Starmer comes from a working class, staunchly Labour family. That is how he acquired his Christian name. If, and it is a big if, he can demonstrate that he is not a toff and can convince people that he is a working class lad who has made good, then I think he will become our next PM.
  19. Cabbage Face .... that's a name from the past. Is he related to you at all??
  20. Its got to be Keir. Things may look tough for the Labour party now but what a good time to take over. The only way is up. Let Boris bluster and f uck things up . Appear semi competent and Number 10 is yours. .
  21. Lol. Just saying
  22. For a long time we had one of our resident trolls telling us how long it was since we had beaten one of the "big 6". May I just point out that it is now 65 days since we lost to one of the "big 6". We have beaten 2 of them and have avoided defeat in matches against half of them. Just saying.
  23. A team much loved by pundits and currently riding high who could be sucked into the fringes of the relegation zone are Wolves. One of the big spread betting firms has them the equivalent of 50/1 to finish 6th from bottom. They are currently just 6 points from that position. They undoubtedly are a good team but their onvolvement in the Europa League has already meant that they have played more games this season than anybody else. Their FA Cup replay is another game to add to their season. They can raise their game against the big boys (eg Man City) but fold up when a team like Watford show a bit of gumption against them. As the season progesses and fatigue sinks in this will be important. Relegation is unlikely but 50/1 for 6 th from bottom (100 /1 for 5th from bottom) is worth a dabble.
  24. ... and if we had lost to Villa, Norwich and Watford we would be bottom.
  25. The fixture list is crazy. After the frenetic Christmas period which saw 4 games in 10 days there are just 4 league games over the next 6 weeks. Players who are injured have time to recover. There are going to be many more "surprises" before the season ends.
