Crouch didnt 'fail'. He didnt set the world alight I grant you. But, he gambled and nearly put us back in the Premiership. He showed guts and produced optimism, hell even the pitch invasion at the end of last season when we just stayed up was underpinned by optimism. IF we stay up this time - will the pitch invasion be a happy one or a protest against Lowe? mmmm... I think we know the answer. What's more, when Crouch left he had at least attempted to put in a financial solution to sort out the club and the Premiership gamble - the SISU deal. Strangely the shareholders didnt take it. Why was that 19? Why did Rupert insist on returning, refusing a takeover that would have provided money and a manager worth his salt (a la Coventry) in order to fulfill his super idea of youth football? Why? Arrogance and ineptitude perhaps?
-
That's the whole reason why he fails 19. He has caused blind hatred through arrogance, ineptitude, poor decision-making, appalling appointments. He has LIED, according to more respected shareholders, he has no integrity. He is a bully. He has toyed with SFC on a whim of a youth experiement which is now over and has failed. He fails every time and the reason he is hated is because he IS a loser. When will you get it? It doesnt matter whether Lowe is a genius (he isnt incidentally) what matters is there is NO CONFIDENCE in our leader. No confidence = no optimism. No optimism = falling gates. Falling gates = failing club. Failing club = death of SFC. So you see, it isnt due to the fans not going - its due to the appeal of the leadership. Hatred of Lowe is killing this club... but it 1. Isnt going away and 2. Is deserved. So there is only one answer: Lowe must leave this club for good.

'Vindictive' Johnny lol Yeah - you're right I shouldnt really.... but I find it difficult to swallow that Wotte is seen as a nice and decent man by some who forget he has been at the centre of this fiasco since he arrived. JP failed due to Wotte and Lowe... that is a fact. Wotte is not the answer for me - I am not sure I can forgive him or Lowe for the inevitable relegation or disappointment of this season. Anyway, he slags the fans off once every 2 weeks or so - so I am quite entitled to remind him that what happens on the pitch is directly his fault. Even if he saves us I cannot support him as manager after the lack of judgement shown by him up until this point. I have always backed managers and always begged for consistency - I supported Harry and Burley for consistency until it was obvious that their will had been broken... I cannot support Wotte. He IS part of the farce.

Keep Lowe even if we stay up? lol after his long history of incompetence? LOL LOL LOL LOL ... you're on another planet 19 lol Stay up or go down we want him out. If he stays do you forsee success in the CCC? I dont.
-
Well they take their lead from the manager, who intern takes his from the chairman. So switching off at critical moments and poor decision-making is endemic. Wotte - if they switched off it's YOUR fault. Sort it or go.

The short sightedness in loaning out players.
SaintRobbie replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
Been moaning about Rasiak's loan since the summer. The fact he is likely to keep them up whilst we go down is criminal incompetence. Add Dyer and Stern John and it gets worse. What's worse it that appears we have allowed them to go without recall clauses. Utter incompetence. Lowe has killed/is killing our club. -
Swing Lowe... Thats an old song... sadly.
-
Its irrelevant because we didnt NEED to pursue a youth policy in order to stay in the CCC. Lowe could have trimmed the squad but retained enough robust experience to ensure survival. The policy NOT the circumstance has led to our demise. There are many ways to skin a cat - taking such a reckless gamble was not necessary and has ended in failure.
-
I think thats fair - but I think you can go back afew more months to when Lowe failed to back WGS in the transfer market to reinforce a poor premiership midfield. That put WGS off staying. He knew that despite riding high by Christmas in the table Saints were punching above their weight. WGS knew the team was not going anywhere other than down from that point and IMHO made his mind up to go then.
-
Correct. But then so do those around us. To be be honest, you're right. Its not certain I'm wrong. But, it is HIGHLY likely we will go down under Lowe/Wotte.
-
Oh... no .... certainly not! LOL!! In retrospect, I think Clifford actually had been exposed as a 'conman' by Harry by then and had left fairly quietly.

http://img.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article138733.ece Didnt take much effort to find this.
-
Likely? I'd say certain.
-
I seem to recall SCW was following Harry like a unwanted puppy at the time. Sorry - you're saying Harry recommended Clifford? LOL. I am pretty sure it was SCW as Director of Football. SCW definately went to Holland to look at Wotte. I remember it well Weston. Basset was manager actually.
-
Oh well at least we'll post having taken our reality tablets next time
-
SCW had gone to Holland to speak to Wotte and others. SCW had therefore been involved in the recommendation... as well as Simon Clifford's of course.
-
Couldnt agree more, but we shouldnt forget that Wotte has been central to the Lowe strategy for years OFF the pitch. No wonder he keeps making rash statements, particularly with regards to us - the fans.
-
Wotte is part of the problem, not the solution.
-
I honestly think you're on a different planet... or Lowe himself. You look at the situation too narrowly, are too willing to support Lowe's inept decision-making and are too quick to use the financial situation at the start of the season (now irrelevant) as the reason for relegation. Sorry old friend, I think you're too bright to just be niave - your articulate and club-policy mimiking posts make me truly wonder where you are coming from.
-
I think everyone knows my position. This was utter madness from the start. No way Lowe's idea was likely to succeed and his return have brought lack of optimism, division and seen the largest exodus of support from the club in many years. Lowe's return in the summer was the blackest day in Southampton's recent history. At a time we should have been openly seeking a buyer or accepting the best deal on the table (SISU) we put Lowe back in. Utter madness - unless there are 'backup' benefits for our elusive in the shadows shareholders from relegation and administration. All predicted, never believed it could work, hoped it might... but head generally rules my opinions. Lowe is a fool.
-
OK - if we could all now put our winning heads on for the next home game... or In an attempt to promote the idea that his policy of constantly rotating the squad will work, Saints defacto Director of Football Rupert Lowe has invested in a series of different player-heads on the sound advice of Mr Simon Clifford.
-
Not the point though is it? Point is that we are currently paying out more agents fees than almost any other club in the CCC. Why is that? And for what return? Seems shall we say - somewhat.... errr.... strange... given Lowe's revulsion of agents in the past and need for prudence. Buying credit as you outline above for agents fees (another drain on resources) seems a little luxurious given the financial situation Mr Lowe accuses Crouch of leaving for him... personally I'd have rather seen Rasiak and/or Stern John in a Saints shirt than be one of the largest squanderers of money on agents in the CCC. Perhaps having a couple of quality players wages paid may have ensured survival in the league. Doesn't add up. Lowe (who hates agents and has to run a tighter ship fanancially than at any other time) + the mysterious Kim van de Waal + Press reports of strangely high payments to agents = at least an explanation dont you think?
