  1. LOL thats the spirit! I think thats why I'd prefer Moyes on a 4 year contract... but hey if Koeman delivers lets enjoy 2 years of heading into Europe!
  2. Dunno about that. You could say we weathered the storm. Appoint manager > world cup > pre-season > manager makes mind up on players ... oops season has started > manager sells players in January, Saints retain everyone. [oh and in the first few weeks manager reinforces the club with players he can attract in the off season] Could work the other way - after all why were Liverpool so keen to try and force our hand over Lallana before the WC?
  3. I think many of us agree with you over Moyes, but you can't say Koeman's track record is average! He's a superb manager.
  4. If we fail to appoint Hoddle this time will you change the record?
  5. Viking - sorry I owe you a reply. No I don't work for Southampton - except by giving them largely useless advice without knowing the bigger picture (as every one of us on this message board does). However, I have sacked people for a lack of integrity and for losing the trust of those who matter. And I have never regretted it. I don't know the full facts and to be fair to Krueger he could have been fed a load of rubbish before his interview. But, he delivered it badly, was exposed to the fan base as being wrong, now has lost credibility and frankly is far from a motivational speaker or footballing expert. Whats more his commercial expertise is non-existent, the mans an ice-hockey coach. He's a Sir Clive Woodward - really good at what he does. He's a a Simon Clifford. Out of place. So - if I was his boss I'd sack him. Had a chance - and screwed up at the first opportunity. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2005/nov/16/newsstory.sport11
  6. I think you mean "weacts"
  7. Mods - he's gone, please can this thread now not be a sticky. Let it - like Rickie - fade away with our thanks...
  8. I thought that was quite good... tell you why. After a **** week we've gained a little hope back that Les Reed and our Board might - just might - hold on to our better players and appoint a potentially better manager than Spurs have. I thought it showed we are bigger than MoPo. Future might be bright. Might.
  9. I dont agree with point 1. but I do with point 2.
  10. Best thing the Board can do? Genuinely? Carry on as they are. I forgive Lambert's exit, but this week they resisted Liverpool's attempt to blackmail us into giving away Lallana and Spurs said they weren't interested. Get Koeman and lets get on with hitting Europe next season!!!
  11. LOL! So wrong - yet so funny!
  12. There is something else that really annoys be about Woys statement - truism it may be - but why would the England manager being encouraging his players to go where the money is? Surely he should be encouraging Lallana to carry on as a Captain in a good premier league team so that England will benefit from the possibility of a great captain too? There are more skills needed in low level leadership than in kicking a ball. That is why Lallana is so important to us.
  13. It only takes a few players and a cracking manager. But I take your point.
  14. We could afford Glen Hoddle as boot boy with that sort of money Dalek.
  15. Exactly - I shudder when I hear this. Yes, our youth set up has been good but it is the whole team.
  16. Thats interesting. Could be something to do with the state of the economy and reduction in disposable income and standard of living? But I take your point. I wonder if that was the case elsewhere?
  17. Good point - perhaps there is £50m. I just hope Koeman says he's not selling anyone until he has had a chance to assess the team, which won't be until January.
  18. Lets say the Express article is true and we have £50m for Koeman. Even with £220m Manure have more players to buy than we do to build a team! That would put us about the same in terms of discretionary spending power! We only need a couple of strikers! (and maybe a goalkeeper!)
  19. But we know that's rubbish. Hope its true, but I can't see it. If it were true we wouldn't have any speculation about our best players staying!
  20. Hang on - perhaps we should just keep our captain and not sell an irreplaceable player?
  21. Great news - Spurs say they don't intend to bid for Lallana! SSN. One battle won and the first nail in MP's coffin already from Levy?! Just need to tell the scousers where to go now!!
  22. Whether his statement is true or not, if that is what Woy said I expect the club to launch a major complaint against him. This encourages the likes of Shaw and Lallana to leave. Roy Hodgson needs to shut up and honour his word from a couple of days ago that there would be no transfer talk in the camp. The Club MUST complain to the FA - not overtly - but should send a very strong message. Even if Shaw and Lallana leave this sort of statement implies that the grass is greener elsewhere (there is more to life than money) and that helps make players minds up, arguably costing us money in the transfer fee.
  23. He can't do that either - if this was a quality - when your integrity is exposed you lose any hope of being able to even do this.
  24. No - Koeman will be Reeds appointment. Sorry but Krueger for me has exposed his niaivity throughout. Blokes a joke. He needs to be sacked.
  25. This not helpful. £50m implies Lallana and Shaw will be sold. Not helpful at all.... £30m would imply Shaw and Lambert sold. Not good at all if true - Reed must keep our captain.
