  1. He's just become a fans favourite! And Lovren too mind!
  2. To be fair Lallana has only ever said he wants to be at Saints and is happy. He has never said he wants to leave. He has been misquoted in the press on Europe etc etc. he's been professional. If I was Adam Lallana I'd be saying to myself 'I'm playing for England and captain of a top end Premier League club, so if I stay and don't join the top 4 or 6 who cares?' Lads a professional. If I was Les Reed I'd be complaining to Roy Hodgson about rumours of Gerrard tapping up our players though.
  3. And Steve Gerrard no doubt told him he'd be happier to finish his career at Liverpool.
  4. I still think Rickie Lamberts situation is different to Shaw or Lallanas and has to be treated differently. Rickie has been tapped up for months by Liverpool, a reason why we should frankly stop talking to them hereon in. Let's park the emotion - and by god I was surprised and gutted to see him go (& for a song) - but he's 32 and was struggling with the pace of our game at the end of last season. Lallana is our captain. Shaw is replaceable. We don't need to sell. Reed so far hasn't. Reed may just be about to put in a cracking managerial choice who will suit Lallana (& Shaws style). We've had a very hard week and frankly it seems as if Reed has resisted Liverpools demands. He's doing ok - keep backing Reed. He's doing ok....... For now.
  5. Correct and Lallana has NEVER stated he wants to leave.
  6. Koeman and Lallana - manager and Captain Lovren at the back Wanyama in the middle. As long as that's in place futures bright. I could sacrifice Shaw (would rather not though) to get a couple of strikers and a replacement left back. Could be good. I want Koeman if he comes to make a strong statement saying Lallanas going nowhere so I can enjoy watching him at the World Cup!
  7. ... He'll become the next Rickie Lambert and return to Burnley aged 32.
  8. I understand what you were saying and it was a wise caution. I hope MP goes on to bigger and better, he will always be popular at Saints.
  9. By the way - I'd like to add that Moyes has always been my first choice and still is. One of the reasons is because I sense Koeman will succeed and will be a journey man who will end up somewhere like Spurs or even better in 2 years time. Moyes for me would offer a longer commitment. I sense Koeman on a 2 year contract will be what we see, Moyes may have gone for 4 years... But let's see.
  10. Then Koeman is the best choice. What's more if I were a Spurs fan and saw Saints appointing Koeman (&keeping Lallana) I'd feel as if Levy had screwed up again!
  11. Not sure that's entirely fair. He's taken over clubs and had to rely on youngsters coaching them to success - I hope that doesn't happen this summer, but he's not had entirely the easy ride you're hinting at. Let's give him a chance. He is better than MP in my opinion. Proven as better than MP with his record. Could be very exciting.
  12. I'd just like to reemphasise one point on Koeman. His style of football requires attacking midfielders. He would want Lallana to provide that - of that I'm sure. I think that could be the one stumbling point - part of me thinks that if he says no (having almost been volunteered by his agent for the job) then we are about to sell the players he needs to succeed. Of course I'm speculating here, but Les needs to secure a manager akin to Koeman and our captain this summer. That is my ultimatum to him or else I will be a little bit grumpy.
  13. Moyes is arguably the best man for Saints in my opinion, but... You can't take Koemans record away of coaching youth, playing attacking football from midfield, bringing clubs on and managing in European competitions. My bet is firmly on Koeman as Les Reed actually appears to want to minimise risk when he appoints (he brought in MP with a proven record of taking a bottom end club to the top half and could work with youth and - unlike NA - could build the defence we needed to stay in the PL). Koeman seems to have the credentials to move us above Spurs. Look at our team. Steady in defence, very strong in midfield (if we keep Lallana) and weak in attack - we will need x2 strikers and it is rumoured he can bring the best in the Dutch league with him. If we get Koeman - forget Wotte a load of Krap and the myth of total football, this is the real deal. I'd welcome Koeman, he'd have my support. Koeman is a positive appointment. Moyes would be a positive appointment. Yakin also. The rest of the candidates are underwhelming for where we are and where we still can head with minimum player sales and reinforcement.
  14. I think that's a good point to be honest. I am still giving Reed a chance. Because AL and Shaw are still here on our terms.as the day closes. He seems to have resisted Liverpool and Manures bids for now. Let's see what management he brings in.if Reed gets the next few weeks wrong we are going to implode. He needs us behind him for now. Krueger on the other hand is clueless and should be sacked.

    Kruger

Another integrity issue? He'll be sacked soon. Is it worth it?
  16. This. The early indicators are certainly there again. I think its almost impossible to invest the money to guarantee replacements that would be of the same value to us. What money can replace a club captain who's playing for England and has been Saints through and through for years? And, what a talent. No chance we could fully replace him.
  17. LOL lets hope so!
  18. Was it? OK
  19. PMSL! It's true - pic just in....
  20. They just caught Rickie there
  21. If we fend off Liverpool over Lallana, I'll have a little more faith in Reed. What worries me is how can he negotiate with the best managers whilst simultaneously be seen to be asset stripping at worst or weakening the team at best, whether it makes financial sense or not (and so far Rickie's fee hasn't made financial sense)? Surely thats got to put off the best candidates not attract them!? Perhaps thats why Moyes is not seemingly in the frame?
  22. Errrr. No she doesn't. She should sell the club or invest in it and gain my support. Simple.
  23. Lambert just interviewed on SSN - ambushed at the airport - and pretty much confirmed this. Said he and Stevie had been talking for 5 months or words to that effect (hint being exactly your point)
  24. How does he know? Anyone could tweet that as the evening draws in! Still accepting any minor relief though!
