  1. Let's give Les Reed a chance. Krueger has failed this week. Inspirational speaker and motivator? I think not. Exposed on TV Interviews as lacking integrity and through some very simple internet research a failed ice hockey coach who by his own self admission knows nothing about football (which is painfully clear to us all). Les Reed has got lucky so far with MP. He has to find us a manager to steady the ship and - as yet - apart from letting Lambert go for a song, which I assume is more Kruegers lack of experience in negotiations, Reed has not sold anyone on. Test will be Lallana over the next 24 hours given Liverpool are taking the mickey out of us on player sales, but give Les Reed a chance. If he can get a manager, pledge (AGAIN) no more sales until that manager has made his assessment and announced a preseason then he will have done his job. Oh, and for good measure the only other thing he needs to do is engineer Kruegers sacking. So, let's see what he can do. Balls in his court.
  2. Rubbish. These are professional sportsmen not sulking kids. The time to hold on to our talent is here. There are no contract concerns, we are riding in the top half, our players get into international teams without being in a top four team. We sell on our terms (not Liverpools Krueger). But let's be clear - these are professional players under contract. God I wish Cortese was here to remind people of this.
  3. He wouldn't be bad but I can help but feel a little underwhelmed. Moyes is arguably the most dynamic choice should we put in a British manager. I've nothing against Koeman - he has a good record - but I guess a generation of us are still scarred by the Wotte Total Football rubbish. There is no doubt that Koeman is not Wotte! But the whole Dutch experience a couple of years ago left a bitter taste.
  4. To be fair Adams been professional. But I'm afraid I'm not letting him leave.
  5. Oh dear, hadn't realised he said this.
  6. "When Koeman was brought in during the summer of 2011, the club was in ruins. After the worst season in the club’s history, finishing tenth in the Eredivisie with a team lacking in quality (just think about Jhonny van Beukering, an overweight striker nicknamed Jhonny Burger King who only had experience at lower level clubs was presented as the big saviour, only to leave after just three games). During pre-season preparations coach Mario Been, a popular former player of the club, was sacked after the players outvoted him in a confidential vote. Too much had happened, too much to have any trust in Been leading Feyenoord back to glory." This is why I think Les Reed will go for him. He took a club in ruins and rebuilt it. Reed went for MP as we needed someone who'd taken a bottom half club and had put it into 8th. Reed seems to plum for proven managers who will achieve the short term aim; after the Board preside over the sale of our best players Saints will be in ruins. Its not guaranteed though Les. You got lucky with MP. Still think Moyes would be better.
  7. I think it fairer to say MP would have found it much harder to leave if Cortese had been here and he could have kept his players and - hey - even had some investment for new ones. And yes, I meant that Spurs Board was and are a joke - but within 24 hours ours have shown they can't even sell a player at the right price... and that they have an integrity problem and have lost the overwhelming support of the fan base. Its undeniable.
  8. A demonstration isn't needed if we think they are actually reading - and heeding - the message boards.
  9. The point is that if he goes it must be based on an informed managerial decision - and an informed decision is not unlikely before January. So lets keep him, see what the manager thinks and if he still wants to move then let him.
  10. I agree and hope for the same - my faith is with Les Reed on this, he needs to get a manager to steady the ship like Moyes and then make a clear statement saying we're not selling unless the manager says so. Krueger has no credibility now.
  11. Yep - same thing happened when WGS left. Lots of it will be alright and stop panicking. Same thing happened when we relegated to CCC. Same thing happened when we relegated to League 1. Hate to say it but there is not yet cause for optimism when the national media have even worked it out.... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/30/rickie-lambert-transfer-start-mass-exodus-southampton
  12. Too late - that will be time to get behind the team - it has to be at SMS before any further damage is done. I predict it will happen when Lallana is sold when Liverpool make Krueger et al look like chumps again by saying if we don't sell they will look elsewhere.
  13. MP resigned as he had no guarantees of keeping his team as well as being made an offer by Spurs, who right now look like they have an outstanding Board compared to ours!!!!
  14. They must have a capable chairman.Perhaps a footballing person?
  15. But outplayed Osvaldo on the pitch and in the dressing room.
  16. I agree with your target but Burnley would be mad to let him go for £4m, he's worth £8 (same as Rickie Lambert is).
  17. Except we couldn't guarantee replacing him for that money.
  18. Exactly but will Saints Board have learned from their foolishness. WE DONT NEED TO SELL AND MUST NOT UNTIL OUR NEW MANAGER HAS MADE HIS ASSESSMENT. Let them move on to other targets! Please!
  19. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/30/rickie-lambert-transfer-start-mass-exodus-southampton And this.
  20. Oh god I hope not. I really hope not. And without a new manager to make an assessment. Whats more he's not even had a chance to add £3-4m by scoring in the WC. These clowns are going to be made to look foolish again by Liverpool. THERE IS NO RUSH!
  21. Blimey if that's true - every player who's agent wants to cash in this summer will say they want to go. That is clueless management. We are in control apparently Mr Krueger?
  22. You're talking sense again Prof!
  23. What? So is he supposed to coach the team? Strikes me that where football teams have chairmen who are footballing people they tend to do rather well. Sorry but he has shown a lack of judgment and integrity over the past 24 hours, looks a fool, has made Southampton FC look a joke and has zero knowledge of football or experience as a Chief Executive. ( the latter two points by his own admission ). Do tell us what he is supposed to be doing.
  24. That is a chilling statement, but not without a degree of truth.
  25. I read that as MLT putting a brave face on.
