Hanson is retiring for a reason. We don't have to sell anyone. The question is do we sell Shaw and then buy 2-3 more players to strengthen? Or do the owners offer to sell the club to kick on with a big injection of cash? We have never been in as good a position to kick on to European places in 1-2 years. AMBITION. DO WE HAVE AMBITION? Or do we settle for mid table? We can be a great club, or we can be a Newcastle.

Osvaldo's - no brainer. although Adam Lallana's run through and score in front of Woy Hodgson was good. .... and then Lambert's free kick from the left side of the penalty box was good.

Clyne may just be coming into his peek as the world cup starts... Come on Roy Hodgson... CLYNE FOR ENGLAND! -
Good big imposing young centre forward with huge amount of potential. Of course he's not quite there and we need strikers over the summer.his technical skills need improvement but it will come. I think he's going to be a star in 2-3 years time. He can play for England if he works at it. I'd like to see him loaned out to a Championship club who have a good technical coach next season.

Our Board of Directors have completely lost the plot

Super! That mask initiative was wonderful. I hope they extend it to the home game against Man Ure - I'd love to see 30000 wearing them! -

Wanyama was MOTM - best performance I've seen from him. Wonderful to watch quality players like Barry in fear of him. Best of all it was great to see he's learnt how to pass the ball !!!!! -
For me it works like this over the summer. No MoPo, Shaw and/or Lallana and our owners will have demonstrated lack of ambition and failure to build upon a team with potential-real potential - for the future. If that is the case then it will be time for us all to campaign hard for new ownership and new finance. For me Adams statement is a warning to our owners. We all know he is happy, he is our team - life and soul. Without his leadership, passion, enthusiasm and selflessness we are championship bound IMHO. With him, with investment, with our players and with our manager and a goalkeeper/striker we are on the verge of champions league. We must keep all our players. We must keep our manager. We must keep our ambition. We must keep our captain. But there will also be a more wealthy owner if we want to continue to advance, we must find one, or our owners must continue with the investment.

I shall go hoping to win, expecting to lose and will jump for joy if we draw.
-
Oh - one positive - Gazzaniga actually played quite well and caught the ball once.

We were: Out fought. Out played. Out thought. Out sung. Cardiff had the better manager. Better game plan and better commitment. What's more - frankly they had the better fans. Management, players and fans - we were ALL complacent. 'We are Southampton we've gone to the beach' sums it up well. I think it was the worst performance of the season - from all of us. Sad thing is - I can't see where we can gain another point this season with this sort of commitment. So I think we'll finish 10th at best.

Although that is partly because we only have one set of Premier League quality players! I'm pretty excited about next season too. Especially once: We buy a new keeper. (3 decent keepers about to be relegated, snap one up MP!) We buy a new striker. We buy a new creative and dynamic attacking midfielder. (Wonder how much Puncheon is going for?!) We secure our manager on a long term contract. We hold on to our current team. A long wish list. But, I think we'll be in a good position next season to kick on. I am sure we'll secure MP. Once thats done we'll secure our players. But we must be realistic. MP has no options on the bench. We have one team - a very good one - but one upon which which we must build to advance. One that provides tactical options for the manager to influence a game. If we sell players, if we fail to secure MP, then we will need to look very seriously at our owners and ask whether it is not time for them to sell up and leave. Simple. Cortese had the ambition (ironically his undoing) to secure investment, but he had ambition. We should be looking for a set of owners akin to Man City rather than selling anyone... or accept a finish each year between relegation and mid-table as well as the indignity of being Arsenal's feeder club for youth. It's time to kick onwards and upwards. Thats down to investment in THIS team and its management. Thats down to our current owners. That leads to excitement.

Same old Saints on a bad day. Dominate the game, then over 2 minutes switch off and let in two goals. Goalkeeping errors compound the poor result. Hope jay Rod is ok. I really do hope hes OK. We need a new top goalkeeper in the summer and then slip Boruc into cover. Still.... We will do a typical Saints and thrash Cardiff next week!
-
Lovren for me. We suddenly had a defence when he arrived.
-
I WANT STRIPES BACK! Its just... Saintly!
-
We need to hold him for another season - then double our money! He's going to start scoring shortly. He's been unlucky the last 3 games and has a powerful boot on him. We mustn't sell him. Mustn't. ... yet.
-
.....but by god I'm proud of them!
-
We miss experience - professionals who can kill a game off. But we also lack strength in depth. No options for MoPo to change a game. We have one good team. That's it.
-
Sweepstake for how many times Boruc kicks it straight out of play from a goal kick? I'm going for 5 Sorry but we need a new keeper in the summer and Boruc as cover.
-
I'm still grumpy. Still think it ruined the season.
-
Always said he can't pass a ball forwards... but sideways and backwards he's a genius!

We need a decent Jay Rod song - bloke's great and not celebrated enough - top scorer. Made me think the Louis Suarez song that Liverpool sang last week (addictive as hell) would suit him... 'and I just can't seem to get enough of...do do do do dodo dodo ... JAY RODRIGEZ!' Oh and stop singing OWTSGMI slow all the bloody time... it is soooooo dull. -
Adam Lallana was MOTM tonight IMHO
-
Agreed
-
Gus Poyet. Don't think he'd come, but passion, belief and an inspiration to youth
-
MoPo screwed up over the Sunderland game selection for the FA Cup, failed to admit it and we now have nothing to play for. Pew will finish 11th or 12th IMHO.
