  1. Good result. (Eventually - I know sometimes we have to be patient but I had the same fear as everyone that despite dominating we would suffer from a moment of quality and receive another sucker punch. But we didn't - our defence is back!) Boruc - Fonte and Lovren are outstanding. Nice to see us confident and organised enough to push the line up again - we caught WBA out so much on off sides as a result. Great stop from Boruc when called upon. I wish he'd practice his kicking some more though - he does have a tendency to kick straight out of play at time which just hands back possession. Now that the central defence is back I would like to see the wing backs running forward more - this is Shaw's game - and over Christmas I thought he was being forced to hold back too much. He didn't really start to use his pace until the second half - I guess once there was confidence again in the defence. Clyne's delivery was not as good as it can be, he failed to beat the first man a lot, but at least he was getting forward. We seemed to play down to weaker opposition again. First half lacked the killer final piece of quality and control, which was more down to desire than quality of individuals. I sense that they are being told to hold back in the first half - we saw quite a lot of that before Christmas. Then put on the pressure 5 mins before the end of the half and in the second. I guess its one of our game plans. Rickie was off the pace. some deft touches but he faded again. Shame Osvaldo wasn't available to replace him after 70 minutes. My only criticism was the final set of subs and change of tactics by MP that almost threw the game away. It allowed WBA space and to keep coming on to us. I think he'll want to review that. We have the ability to be really strong compared to most at the end of games. We looked the weaker side in the last 5 minutes and it was worrying. Still overall a dominant Saints side outplayed a pretty poor WBA side who'd come for a draw (although I thought their defence and closing down in midfield deserved praise). Nice to have our 1st team almost all back. Would love to see Wanyama return and Osvaldo ready to replace Rickie on a regular basis as well as Shaw being given some freedom to show us what he can do with his pace down the wing. But happy happy happy! 3 points and a solid - if not as inspiring a performance as we're used to. Well done the lasts!!! Lallana MOTM for me - he's an inspirational captain that lad. He leads by example. And I loved his celebration!!

    Well

... although were we not linked with Wanyama's brother recently?

    Well

Got to be a Goalkeeper surely?
  4. lol I've always laughed about the neutral stand at Fulham. What do you sing there? The referees a nice bloke or The referee's going home in a first class limo Noones **** and you all know you're not. You're not singing anymore... and nor are you. Come on Fulham Come on Southampton... We're the neutral stand over here ... silence... Ah what fun! But, what's the bloody phone number for the Fulham Ticket Office????? I can't find it on their website. And when I try and log in to create an account I keep getting error messages.
  5. In - none. Out - none.
  6. No. Rickie is one of our best players. Not a chance. Next season maybe, but I for one am hoping West Ham go down having been gifted a brand new Olympic stadium. There's too much potential in that club as a result, so I am rather hoping they fall to the lower tiers for as long as possible to give the rest of us a chance! So lets not sell our talisman.
  7. Shaw has been very poor this half. Weak link at the moment. Needs a rollocking at half time.
  8. He's a super attacking midfielder - a player to cover Lallana, but whether he's a team player, good out as well as in the changing room is another matter. He's has had a chequered past. I guess this is all about cash. I would love to see him back covering for our attacking midfielders. But, would he want to come back when he's starting at Palarse? And can we afford his wages?
  9. EAsily lost my £10 bet on Cardiff to win. Chuffed to bits! Yoshida is a great defender - shame he can't pass it though. I prefer him to Hooiveld by a country mile. Gazza still looks a little fragile, but so much better seeing Shaw on and giving us some width. I hope we can find a replacement for Fox soon as a back up on the left. OLAY!
  10. http://cricfree.tv/live/watch/cardiff_city_vs_southampton/17190 This one's looking a fair quality stream at the moment.
  11. Good betting odds for a Cardiff win. I suspect given this team sheet it's worth £10 on a Cardiff win. Betting with head not heart…. our defence is simply too poor with Gazza's indecisiveness. We can score, dominate in midfield, pass and show some great spirit up front - but without a solid keeper and central defenders we are too susceptible to a couple of moments of quality from Cardiff. You never know though, and I for one am hoping to lose a tenner! Come on Saints!!
  12. I thought we looked mid-table at best today. We didn't deserve to be 1 up at HT. No real threat upfront today, Osvaldo is not up to much…. yet. Standard mistakes from Wanyama in giving the ball away and another strange game from Boruc who's kicking is still only adequate frankly. What's most worrying is that's the first time I've seen our shoulders hunch - we looked defeated at 1-1 FFS. Going to be interesting to see if we can bounce back quickly now that others have watched how to beat us by 2 goals on two separate occasions and it looks like we've got a plethora of injuries. Still, looking forward to some home speed, belief and pace against Villa!! Still proud of them.
  13. http://0dt.net/playerall.php?id=676036 working well
  14. Boruc has been threatening to do that for the whole season. Lesson learnt. I think we'll draw. 1-1
  15. Ballak talking sense, Ian Wright talking rubbish. Ian Child is an idiot. I hate ITV coverage. As for Lovren not starting... sign up the Croatian centre half immediately - he must be outstanding!!!!!!
  16. Ian wright hates Saints. He deserves a real slagging from Saints fans everywhere - especially when AL scores the winner against Arsenal on Saturday!
  17. oh… and I admit it. I had a tear of joy when Lallana scored. Sheer brilliance. Haven't felt that intensity of emotion since Camara hit the strike of hope against Norwich in the relegation season! Powerful. Its just great to be a Saint.
  18. England Players: Lambert, Lallana. Potential England Squad Players: J-Rod, Shaw, Clyne. Future England Players: Ward-Prowse, Cork, Chambers… It's just like watching England …………… except we're better.
  19. Someone pinch me. Someone pinch me because CWD's mate's statement is true. We have the best team in the Premier League at the moment. Not the best players man for man, but the best team. Keep enjoying it, because it is going to last a full season… then we reinforce and do it again Barcelona of British football. Its possible.
  20. 2-1 Saints victory - easy
  21. Paced first half, expect more urgency in the second. We are playing plan B with the B Team
  22. We were the better side. Could've had at least one penalty. Good away point in the conditions. I think we were worth a one goal lead win but hey, flooky goal for Stoke stopped it. Saints go marching on! At least our rivals Chelski lost!
  23. …and manager of the month for Poch… we're doomed! We're gonna spank Stoke. We are Southampton.
  24. We're outstanding in every department - we will win by one goal.
