OR even ask our opinions as to who to go for, alert everybody else as to who he is trying to buy, and end up with no one at all Sound logic that Just keep this site as a fans forum IMHO:)
-
IMHO, THAT says a lot Free transfer for a very good player ??? Injury free perhaps, but not "Free of charge" Damaged goods ???
-
I do take your point(s) ( I was trying to be somewhat flippant ) ..... and obviosly failed:)
-
As I said Pulis Could give him a farewell Diploma for "Attempting to Impersonate a Footballer" though
-
I think the priority should be Pulis Simples
-
Not so The Former is deleting Krap The Latter created Krap Leibherr?Cortese are Professional people, and with every day that passes, THAT fact shines through, IMHO
-
Yes, there were a lot of Fokkers about in those days
-
He'll be out on a Beano then ???

In other words, it's a Dann Deal ???:)

1) Errr - St Mary's Stadium is really rather near the spot the original club was formed, but no, you're right, an industrial estate just outside Eastleigh is where the soul of the club really is. And I don't think anyone was advising knocking down St Mary's Church to build a ground, so the Gasworks site was a sensible option was it not? you have no clue and never have. Got me there CB. Most current Saints fans must be old enough to remember the original ground at St Mary's. Do you remember when Saints played on the Varsity Ground ??? Not exactly the heart of the City. But I agree that the actual St Mary's Stadium, now right in the middle of an industrial estate, must be where the soul of the Club really is, for some. ( and I don't recollect ever suggesting knocking down St Mary's church by the way ) 2) Yes it was 25k. What is the point of building a 25k stadium that "could be expanded" in the middle of nowhere when you can have a 32k stadium actually in the bloody city the club is from. We are Southampton Football Club. For the city of Southampton. For the people of Southampton. You have no clue and never have. Was the 25K Stadium built ? No. Could the negotiations re the Stoneham project have been upgraded to 32K ? Yes. Did Lowe C*ck up the negotiations ? Yes. Was he responsible for St Mary's ending up as a FINANCIAL millstone, Yes 3) Cinema, Bowling Alley, Supermarket, whatever, the point stands. Why you are obsessed with business ventures I don't know. Stop worrying about profits and maybe concentrate on the football and the city our club represents and being in the heart of that city. That's what really matters. Not a frigging hotel or a bowling alley.Have you been to the Madjeski? Have you? And that's what you really wanted for our club and our city? Is it? You have no clue and never have. We concentrated on a Stand alone Football Stadium at St Mary's, and when times got bad, and then worse, Revenue from the Footballl only fell away. Still, in your eyes we must stop worrying about profits eh, and concentrate on Football, just like Lowe did ?? Yes, I have been to the Madjeski, but I don't recall saying that Stoneham should be a carbon copy of it 4) Do you travel by Helicopter? You can't walk from Millbrook to Stoneham, but you can walk from Millbrook to town. Or hop on a bus. Or drive. It's a piece of ****. Getting to town is pretty easy and you certainly don't need a car from most parts of the city. But you would need a car to get to some godforsaken trading estate you get all dewy eyed about. Hellicoptor, No. I (wrongly) gave you credit for realising that I meant Millbrook - Stoneham would have been by car on the Motorway. I'm glad you are fit enough to walk from Millbrook to town, how long would that take you ? The point was though, it is longer than Ten minutes. I travel by bus from Lordshill to the City Centre, then walk from the Royal Oak to the ground As for "God forsaken trading estate" , I thought St Mary's was in one of those. And, from the Royal Oak it's not exactly a straight line to get to is it ? If your priority as a football fan is transport links then support a club with better transport links. I support a club based in the heart of the city of my birth just a stones throw away from its birthplace. What a fantastic place to be. You want it next to a branch of Lidl and a Frankie and Benny's in the middle of nowhere. Brilliant. I'm right and you have no clue and never have. Good transport links DO count to a lot of people, whether you accept it or not. From the City Centre, it IS awkward to get to for a lot of Supporters. The Stadium itself is Great, I have always said that Lidl ?? Tesco surely ? ( every little 'elps ) 5) All you do is drone on about Lowe over and over and over again. You haven't got a clue and you never have. How about telling us how absolutely brilliant SISU are again, your other heroes, because Coventry are streaking up the table at the moment aren't they. Look at them go. SISU and Stoneham, the SaintRichmond "fan's first" dream ticket. You have no clue and nver have Lowe ? Yes I drone on because he nearly destroyed the Club, OUR Club People moaned at me before when I said he'd be back. Well, he did come back, thanks to Judas Wilde. SISU ? At the time, they WERE a way out of the PLC under Lowe. Coventry may be only mid table, but they do have the minor advantage of STILL being in the CCC The irony of all this difference of opinion is that we are BOTH Saints Fans. I've been one since 1954, 48 Years as a ST Holder, and at St Mary's, I cheer the team Still, 56 years of not having a clue must be some sort of record don't you think CB ?? Only on this site I moan. Funny old game innit ??

Which means he is best quality rubbish then ???? Simples:D

Because, for the Luton match, the Club were only originally going to open up half the ground Nearer the match, when it was obvious that more seats were needed, they opened up Kingsland However, IMHO, the negative effect was that only just under 19K actually came IMHO, IF they had treated the match the same as a League fixture, the crowd would have been circa 23000 (A lot of Kingsland fans were VERY annoyed:cool:
-
I have NEVER liked the man from Day one, and made that clear at the time Thanks for answering my post, point by point, I therefore do not know if you agree or disagree with them I agree that Wilde, Crouch and Askham all played a part in the decline of Saints, though not so much Crouch as, IMHO, he DID try to help For Judas Wilde though, no excuse. He was the one that let Lowe back in I would point out that I did state "Lowe's Tenure", which did not include Messrs Wilde, Crouch and Askham, Askham being a miserable Leech IMHO I never blamed Lowe for my burnt dinners. As my wife trained at The King Alfred School of Unedible Disasters, even I cannot crown him with that Crown:rolleyes:

(1) As opposed to their "Spiritual Home" of the old Gasworks ??? Not many knew of that site until the Gas Company made it available (2) Was it only 25K ?? It could easily have been made bigger (3) Cinema ?? Don't think so, but there were other "business" options which would have supplemented running a Football Club (4) Don't just pick a FEW words CB, I mentioned ALL the infrastructures, Road, Rail, Airport, and general accessibility For example, from Millbrook to Stoneham would have been circa 10 minutes max, which is quicker than Millbrook to St Mary's (5) I have more of a clue than you my friend. All you can do is to insult when you do not agree with someone else So, with a name like yours, I suggest you go back to cricket:cool:

(1) Strachan - Great Manager - but it has to be said that with Lowe's Turnover of Managers, he had to get a good one some time, simply by the law of averages It ALSO has to be said, that AFTER we lost the FA Final to Arsenal, Strachan then asked for Funds to start Rebuilding, and was given a pittance by Lowe, which by Premier standards hardly bought a right foot # (2) "To say he was all bad etc" - Well, as most on here know, I DO say he was all bad. In over 10 years did not bring in £1 of Investment ( Name any other Business where NOTHING is ever brought in ?? ) Coupled with the fact that he REFUSED to get rid of the PLC when it was painfully obvious that after Relegation from the Prem, the only way we would survive was to attract a Buyer. Lowe opted for further degeneration of the Quality of product, another Relegation, and the final insult, a TEN point deduction. IN SHORT - HE NEARLY DESTROYED US Compare ANYTHING THAT Leibherr and Cortese have done since they arrived, to Lowe's "Method" of running, (or ruining) a Business, and tell me which you prefer ??? (And just in case you mention it, he did NOT get us St Mary's, the Council and the rest of the Project Committee did. Lowe finished it off by arranging an Albatros of a Mortgage, which in it's own right, took us to the edge of oblivion ) From the minute he walked in at the Dell, and morally "conned" all the old Shareholders to sell up for peanuts, I disliked the man, and over both his Tenures, he did Zilch to change my mind in any way The quicker he goes the same way as Nick Gleeson, the better IMHO

The ground is Kr*p as well ( You may have thought it was a Beirut Redevelopment Area )
