Would signings in January strengthen the team or upset the balance?
SaintRichmond replied to Son of Bob's topic in The Saints
IMHO, our "Star" players WILL be bought by "Bigger" Teams, so at the very least, Pardew will have to Buy to stand still so to speak I am well aware that the grass is not always greener, but YOU try telling that to a Young Starlet:D -
He will need to strengthen, because anybody who believes that Saints, a Div 3 Team, can prevent our "stars" being pinched by Prem and CCC Clubs, are, quite frankly, living in Cloud Cuckoo Land ( I'm not saying that anyone that leaves will enhance their career, but certain players WILL go IMHO ) IF we could keep all of the present First Team squad, then I believe that we would make the Play Offs, but if Pardew is forced into a Mini rebuilding job, then we won't, IMHO:D

My apologies, It is in the Itchen Stand:D

Really WC, what are you on ? Think again. Yes. I resent being "deprived" of "my" seat for the FA Cup game I would not have got it free though, I would still have had to pay for it, and rightly so The Kingsland is nearly always Full, so WHY are they closing parts of it ?? "Old people don't like change" ???? What the hell is that supposed to mean??? "Pandering to our every whim" ???? Why is it wrong to expect to be able to sit in the SAME ST seat as per normal Where exactly is YOUR seat then ??. I assume it's in the Northam, so you do not have to move ?? Senseless rant ??? I don't think it was a rant, just my opinion Lighten up and have a good Xmas WC ....... warm the water up if your hands are getting cold:D
-
OK, which will mean that someone else will end up in MY ST seat, whilst I will be in another part of the ground that I have been forced to buy a "replacement" seat in ST Holder's seats SHOULD be available for Cup matches:D
-
Nothing really, simply that the CLUB wanted to announce the Plans at a PRESS CONFERENCE the following week The Daily Wrecko just went for a Cheap "Scoop" Typical for the remains of what was once a good paper:D
-
I tend to agree. IMHO, not very POSITIVE thinking The FA Cup still retains some magic, and under normal circumstances, I would expect circa 18000 I've had to relocate to the Chapel, but I'm NOT happy at having to do so, and I know for a fact that six of the Supporters who are fellow ST holders in the Kingsland are VERY annoyed. Perhaps someone should explain the difference in Pulling Power between the JPT and the FA Cup ?
-
What happens IF Saints sell more tickets than seats available (Some sections of the ground are NOT being opened, including where mt ST is) Can't quite understand the logic:D
-
I quite agree with Cortese. The Echo WERE asked NOT to run the story until the following weeks scheduled Press Conference They decide to go for a "Scoop" ( In their case, that means something you clear the dogs mess upwith) They got what they deserved, and about time IMHO:)

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
SaintRichmond replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I agree .. The League is FAR FAR more important than the JPT Now that we are edging closer to sixth spot ( 9 points to go ), it would be crazy to jeapoardise our chances now:) -
Had it been done under any previous Regime, the General Hospital would have been swamped by 30000 Cardiac Arrests It comes under the heading "INVESTMENT" ..... something that *".@ (you know who) was totally against:D
-
They would both have impressed any Scouts pencilling in the January "want" list:)

Out of relegation zone for first time in 2009
SaintRichmond replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
OK We are rid of Lowe We have New Owners We have NO Debt We now have a good Squad We are out of the Relegation places OK so far ??? We are currently 20th We are more than likely to continue to improve Still OK ??? BUT, I think, REALISTICALLY, that we have left ourselves too much to do to get into the Top Six this season, and because of that we will have to spend another season in Div 1, and, because of that, I also think we will lose some players and will have to rebuild That may be negative to you, but, to me, it is a REALISTIC appraisal of the situation as I see it. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong in May 2010 I have a "negative" feel to it because that is how I assess our situation at present:) -

With respect, I beg to differ I think all the players joined thinking that Promotion this season WAS a possibility, even allowing for the -10 points As has been pointed out, add on the stupid points we have dropped, and we would be currently 9th or 10th The REALITY is that we are currently 20th I am still of the opinion that come the close season, Pardew will have to REBUILD after some of the current Squad move on:cool: -

Lallana, Lambert,Schneiderlin,Waigo,Antonio,Mellis,Trotman,Davis I'm not saying they will ALL leave, but rthey would certainly NOT want to remain in Div 1, and most ARE CCC material IMHO -

The FIRST task being getting REPLACEMENTS for the players that LEAVE because we are still in DIV 1 Not a moan, just a plain simple Reality check:cool: -

Still with the -10 ..... how is that "level" It is a season long HANDICAP FFS Getting the -10 recinded would be "a level playing field":) -

SaintRichmond replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
With respect, NO ... IMHO, We still carry the last of the "effects", the -10 Without that, we'd be nicely placed to make the play offs After last night, we are now 12 points from 6th Still achievable, but methinks we have dropped too many points:) -
Forget Poke ..... get a Goalkeeper in
-
Why yes, of course, but I doubt if he would have anticipated drawing 7, and losing 4 of the matches played so far IF you are honest with yourself, you would agree that, with the Team Pardew NOW has got together, we should NOT be dropping as many points as we have, and we should be at least 6 points better off, which would mean we would be closer to the elusive 6th place:)
-
NOT Bullsheet, and NOT doom and gloom, just plain common sense Of course he knew it would take time, we all did But the REALITY is, we have so far Drawn seven, and lost four. The drawn matches alone represent "dropping" Fourteen points We HAVE made great progress I agree, but I do not think we will be "flirting with the playoffs" Sit back and make a realistic assessment. I think that KD may come to the conclusion that we will STILL be in Div 1 next season, and he will want a higher League to play in Nothing doom and gloom about that, just plain simple Realism
-
I honestly think Kelvin will move on in January He took a big gamble by staying with Saints, but, in reality, things have not worked out as well as he would have hoped We are still in the drop zone, and, realistically, we will NOT make the play offs He deserves CCC Status at least, IMHO
-
Steady on Alpine ....... if you criticise and say a few Home Truths about the Team's performance/tactics/system, etc", you get slaughtered on here Far better to wear rosy coloured glasses and say that everything is fine:cool:
-
Of course they do, but it is the manner in which they lose them Playing hoof and run is NOT the Saints way, as has been demonstrated in a lot of previous matches, so WHY adopt that game v Brighton Their back line were in position to get every ball pumped forward NOT ideal Football tactics IMHO....... and it failed miserably Still, if most of you are satisfied in how we played, then so be it
