In truth, I think most people would have thought him nuts if he shoved Edwards into midfield. Hopefully the new lad can do a proper job at this level as deep midfielder. If he can, he's got no excuse to not play a 4231, and I'm assuming the transfers are all geared towards a change of formation.
  2. I don't disagree, but, this "give them a try cos it can't get any worse" mentality is just nuts, especially as it will likely get worse for pretty much everyone apart from people arriving on boats, or selfish people who earn a bit and don't give a monkeys as long as they're paying less tax. We'll turn into a mini America, but with worse infrastructure and less skilled people.

I think it is. Look at the match day squad today. In reality, how could he have set us up any differently? Ater Downes cried off, he didn't have another option to allow him to play 2 in a 4231, and after the reshuffle, who would have played wide? I'd expect him to set us up differently against Pompey, when Fellows is available and they've all trained a bit together. If he plays this crappy shape then, or we don't win, then my patience will be wearing thin. In short, he needs a few games after the window has ended before he can be fairly judged imo.
  4. I get that, although the focus is on one policy, but without any idea of the other stuff that'll impact them more than some largely disused hotels being stuffed with asylum seekers.
  5. I agree that our system needs major overhaul - I haven't suggested otherwise it The issue I have is that Reform don't want an NHS, but want an insurance based system. That's more akin to an American system than that which other European countries offer. The masses will struggle to afford that, as per Americans.
  6. When we've got some wingers and midfielders available we can play men wide. Today, we've had to play our wide men in midfield, so our only width can come from wing backs in a 3. Not ideal, but I can't see any alternative today sadly.
  7. Inevitably, yes. Maybe it'll be Manning...
  8. Yep. Much less disruption doing that.
  9. Strategic illness following an offer?! 👀 (I'm not being serious, just playing to the conspiracy theorists)
  10. Manning has played there, so him going in there is a possibility. Not a nice one mind.
  11. Ah, of course, I posted the team sheet so should have realised. These u21 games the night before are a bit daft really.
  12. Sesay on the bench ahead of a 3rd keeper seems a no brainer.
  13. Ah, cheers. That makes it interesting. Can only be Fraser or Azaz dropping into the midfield...or a crazy leftfield solution of Manning in there, with Fraser shifting to LWB, and Robinson taking up his usual role.
  14. Eh? What have I missed...the team sheet is up there...
  15. I think Fraser and Azaz will be the 2 in a 3421.
  16. Indeed, the only stat that really matters for a keeper is what goes into the net behind him. Baz doesn't save shots which he should. We can all see that. I'd like an upgrade, but it's not happening.
  17. Left? I've never voted labour mate. I'm no fan of the ridiculous right either. There's a sensible bit in the middle.
  18. What benefits do you see from a Reform government for the average working person? How will they get on with paying for their own healthcare? The welfare state needs looking at, that's for sure, but that includes the state pension. The whole lot is unaffordable. Then those two issues need some joined up thinking. People don't work because of their health, so the obvious solution is to remove free at the point of health care and replace it with a system that people have to pay for with money they can't earn. Explain how that works please.

A goal every five minutes. Nice.
  20. But that's our whole policy - buy or develop talent on the promise we'll play and develop them, then cash in when a bigger club knocks on the door. It's a win win situation - we get a year or two out of these lads, then they get their move. Yesterday's 3 x brilliant signings cost less than we got for Dibling. On any assessment, that's brilliant business, and not standing in the way of these lads moving on means that more young lads will put faith in us. We're a short term stopover for potential stars. You've got to accept the reality mate.
  21. I hadn't seen that as a link to BBD' loss of confidence, but he was decent in that game and I had high hopes for him. What has happened along the way, I'm not sure, and I'd attribute more to our crap coaching and how he's been asked to play. In the cup game he just looked lost and completely bereft of confidence. He needs a new start somewhere.
  22. Err, err, ever so slightly irrelevant to turkeys voting for Christmas mate.
  23. What is a shock is so many people backing a party when they have zero clue about their policies beyond "sending them back". They'll have a shock when the welfare state all but disappears, and the NHS is replaced by an insurance based system. By all means back a party if you understand what you'll get, but it's crazy that people aren't looking beyond one solitary issue.
  24. Absolutely the right decision - in no way were there national security issues, and on any sensible assessment, imposing those tariffs unilaterally was undemocratic. Irrelevant though as half of the Supreme Court Judges were hand-picked by him. They should decide without fear or favour, but we know how it'll go.
  25. Interesting that they're playing 4231, rather than mirroring the 1st team system. Perhaps a sign of what the 1st team want to do.
