Ok, so we agree on a defender coming on. So who would you have wanted to go off? Armstrong for a defender? If so, who would have gone up top? Alcaraz moved out of position, and no striker on? Or Ely off and Armstrong staying on? Something else?
-
Are you saying Armstrong should have stayed on? There was nobody other than Onuachu.
-
We'll agree to differ. We needed to strengthen the defence and couldn't risk going to 10 men. I couldn't see another way of doing that.
-
We couldn't have gone into that 2nd half with DCC and ABK our only 2 CB's. We needed to go to a 5 - Tessem on Solent rightly made the point and gave Selles credit for the change. The issue was who to sacrifice. If it was AA people will have whinged that he took off our striker. If it was Ely, and Alcaraz then got another yellow, people will have whinged that he wasn't taken off and was an accident waiting to happen. Personally, I think he called that right. Had Alcaraz not been on a yellow, I suspect he wouldn't have gone off at the break. Sulemana and tall Paul coming on was the right call too, although arguably too late. Where he messed up tactically was Lavia off for Diallo. Absolutely pointless change at a crucial time which cost us the game, and put the nail in our PL coffin.
-
Apparently JWP has been told that he can go this summer. I've historically not been his biggest fan, but I agree with your point that he's carried us. He's been superb.
-
Oh come on. His team and tactics got us to 3-1. Wtf he was thinking bringing Lavia off I'm not sure though - that decision cost us the game.

Nice guy. Level headed. Good business acumen. Was around when we were down and coming up. Was well thought of by Cortese. He knows the club and the football business. Good appointment, I'm delighted for him.

Nope. Badger is one of the more reasonable posters, nowt offensive about him. Coloured is an actual race category in parts of the world, and it's just that somewhere along the line it's somehow been deemed an inappropriate word.
-
A black friend of mine refers to himself and other black people as coloured. I don't think he's racist.
-
I didn't miss your point. Pelle worked in the system you described as he was Pelle. I don't think that Onuachu would work in that system because he's not good enough. I think Selles is using him in the right way, ie coming off the bench when what's on the pitch isn't working. As for Selles being useless, I think him, Onuachu, various other players, the ownership, the scouts, the board, are all out of their depth.

Not speaking to the police chief before sounding off was naive of her, but, she had a point. The wokeness in this country has gotten ridiculous, and fair play to her for highlighting it in this situation. That all said, why you insist in banging on about the far right, and opine that she's considered a racist, I'm not sure. By all means have your opinion on something, but your desire to give people a label if they have a different one to you is one reason why you consistently get a kicking on here. You don't help yourself.
-
Are you seriously suggesting that people who think that the police went over the top are "far right"? I know people (2 can play that game SoG) who are lefter than lands end who think the police were ott and that Braverman had a point. If you could express your opinion on issues without being so quick to pass judgement/opinion/criticism of other peoples views, you'd possibly be close to bearable mate.
-
I think it's a bold prediction.
-
Eyes mate. What a stupid question.
-
They were both flat track bullies in shit leagues mate. Apart from one header, tall Paul has offered zero goal threat. People can moan all they like that he ain't playing, but to me it's pretty obvious why he's not.
-
He'd play a striker if he had good ones. Playing tall Paul just because we have him doesn't make him good.
-
Forget stats, and comparing the Belgian league with the PL. We need something different. This is the only different we've got, other than kids.
-
Exactly...it's the best we've got, unless you'd really want tall Paul standing still up top.
-
Opinion or information?
-
I think you're confusing mobility with being lazy. He's mobile in that he can make half decent runs, which is more than tall Paul can. He's more physical than the lightweight Mara. He offers more goal threat than both.
-
Aribo is a bit random, but I guess he's playing up front where he'll be more mobile than tall Paul, and more physical than Mara. Selles has got to try something different I suppose.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

So that's what your Avatar is about. It looks uncannily like David Tennant with tits and a blond wig. -
Referencing how we played with Pelle is pointless. Pelle was superb, and tall Paul has shown none of his qualities - he's a big lad who can play down the middle with his back to goal. He has no pace, his movement is poor, he rarely jumps, and hasn't shown himself as someone who'll hold the ball up and bring others into the game. It's not that Telles isn't good enough to play him in a different way, it's that tall Paul isn't good enough to offer any more. I know that we're desperate, but expecting this lad to morph into a player that he isn't, is an expectation too far.
