Didn't realise he was £73m. That makes Carillo look like a cracking bit of business.

Leeds are a decent club to be fair. Great stadium, good manager and the young players are given a decent chance up there. Our reputation over the years has been to develop talent and play it but we've not been doing that. Watts is in the Oz Olympic squad but hasn't had a look in, Jankewitz was ignored after the fiasco and has left, Tchapet is very good but hasn't had any first team exposure and will probably leave. Nobody knows, but I'd hazard a guess Leeds would have nurtured them better. Young players will know what's going on here and I was a promising youngster and my choice was playing in our woeful development team plus some occasional first team bench warming, or Leeds, I know where I'd go.
-
Exactly. That's £100m plus on players, and their wages that we won't ever get back. To compound it, we've then had to fund other players to fill gaps created by the duds.
-
Personally, I don't think Diallo was great overall, and he didn't always play when available. Swapping him out wouldn't be a surprise to me. Alternatively there may be serious interest in JWP.

We run at a loss. We have an owner who can't / won't support us. We're crippled by poor transfer / contract choices. Our ability to sign players is a consequence of those things. You're trying to complicate a very simple thing.
-
That's a lot of words to say what we all know. We're spending more than we have coming in, and don't have an owner willing or capable to lob cash in. What other clubs are or are not doing doesn't alter that.
-
When people say "generally" when they mean "genuinely".
-
I don't although I track and trace where they want people to. I will self isolate if I come into close contact with anyone I know has tested positive, or I have symptoms / test positive.
-
And we still would be if we'd bought players who could improve the team, and then be sold at a profit, or even moved on and the wages offloaded. The blueprint in itself was/is ok of we didn't/don't sign duds.

You accuse people of trolling you, yet you then respond to posts when no response is wanted or needed, and address people directly asking questions. Odd. I've seen your posts on the UI and you're a different character over there. Still annoying, but it's a different persona. It's a shame that your SW persona is a dogmatic, self righteous twat but that's down to you. The sad truth seems to be that you're bothered by what people think of your online persona. You then feel the need to have to address that. That's people living rent free in your head. I don't want to burst your bubble, but I couldn't give a fuck what you think about me, save that when you insinuated that I was a racism apologist you crossed a line. Until you went down that road I found you tolerable. A decent person would apologise for that slur, but I don't expect that from you. Have a good day, and if you want any further exchange of views, by all means PM me.

This net spend focus is a flawed approach. The clubs finances, like any business or even household, has to be looked at as a whole. Whether our revenue comes from player sales, gate receipts, sponsorship, TV, equity injection, or anything is irrelevant. If we spend more than we receive whether on players, wages, agents, anything, we make a loss and become unsustainable. Too many fans seem think that player sales money goes in a little jar to be used pound for pound on new ones. It doesn't work like that, and it's not helped when £100m + gets wasted and we have no obvious resource from which we can draw more revenue.
-
It's all in the detail. £8m package, not £8m fee. Could be anything - £2m towards his final year wages which we pay and £2m fee + £4m in unachievable add ons, for example. Regardless, I'll be glad to see the back of him. One of the biggest ego's we've ever signed.
-
Never thought of that, and it makes sense I spose. T20 with a 5 ball over is all it looked like to me.
-
Yep, and I feel exactly the same. Aside of all that, I'm not sure what the point is as we have T20.
-
Thanks. Interesting rumour, and an interesting sounding player.
-
Yep. Bit of a stretch to say the least.
-
We can't just use player sales money on player purchases. It all goes in and out of the pot. The accounts are in the public domain. We make a loss. Our wages cripple us. We therefore have to sell to a) keep going and b) buy / loan, and when you take £100m + out of the pot that you'll never get back, you have to duck and dive.
-
Chicken or Egg scenario. You've seen the accounts, there's a massive black hole. If we got our cash back on that dross, we'd be OK. As it is, the money has gone and there is no way of getting it back. We're a bit fucked.
-
When £100m + of signings don't pay off, and have no resale value, its inevitable that we can't spend on new players. Had we been able to offload those signings at cost we'd be better placed, but we have no way of recouping what we've wasted. Throw payoffs to shit managers, Forster, no commercial revenue, etc in the mix and its easy to see why we're on a mess. It's been a shit storm for years and the current lot have got an unenviable job.

Pies. I like big ones too.

That sounds plausible to me, although I'm not convinced that Bednarek is good enough. Vestergaard should raise a few quid though.
