He was the best of an average lot last season, his dead balls being the highlight. Fans of other clubs see the highlight reel and based in that, its understandable that they'd expect to have seen him picked. The England management will have seen the games, and understand it, so it's understandable why they left him at home.
-
Interesting...do you have access MLG?
-
Tino will destroy him.
-
Absolutely. There's no stat for that. JWP is very slow at using the ball for a premier league player. Diallo is much better in that respect.
-
It's a game of opinions Minsk, but for me, we looked far better in the 3 games that JWP was out than we had previously. Judging Diallo coming into a game 80 mins in isn't comparing apples with apples.
-
Gotcha, just read from the top. On the pitch it doesn't translate in that way. For me, we look better - slicker, quicker, more progressive - with Diallo in the side.
-
I too would like to see this for this season. Diallo was settling last season, played a bit part, and played across various positions. Stats based on that against regular starters in their preferred positions are largely meaningless. Also, those stats don't show what we all can see namely that JWP takes about a fortnight to use the ball thus slowing us down, whereas Diallo releases it much quicker.

This is disappointing SOG. You wanted a serious discussion on what is a sensitive issue. Lighthouse set the right scene with a very warmly worded post. It was going well, so your starting with the criticism was unhelpful and unnecessary. That's the kind of behaviour that makes me agree with Whelk when he says that some of your criticism is self inflicted. Disappointing.
-
Yep. Not even that gets proper help sadly. I was hearing the other day of an average 16 week wait time for people on crisis to even be triaged. Appalling.

Thanks SOG, very much appreciated 👍

We're going around in ever decreasing circles mate. You have absolutely no information to support that players have led this - apart form Troy Deeny's missus designing the logo. I've spoken with players who think it's bollox. Hypo has done the same. Several black players have said its bollox. Yet you, a white guy, says its definitely a player led thing, an assertion based on nothing. Let's agree to differ on this. Enjoy your Saturday mate 👍

Thanks SOG for posting that. There's too much stigma and judgement re MH, and there shouldn't be. If my back goes I see an osteopath, so to prevent that from happening, I go for sports injury massage. Our minds and MH need that preventative attention too. The NHS is great, but shocking re MH. I grew up with parents with MH issues and back then it was pills and a label, not therapy and CBT etc. One of my kids has serious MH issues and the NHS have been shocking. Fortunately, good help was/is available via the Priory, but for those who can't afford these private sources, it must be bloody dreadful.

We'll never agree on this, and we don't have to. I live and work in a commercial world, and I'm comfortable with my view that this has never been player led. Indeed, I'd hazard a guess that very few players want to do this, and that the vast majority think its utter bollox and do it out of obligation.
-
Yep, true. My point in Joshua was more about respect to the lad who's been with him for years, and having continuity. I take your point though. Raducanu has had a bit of a shocker. The coach situation isn't great. PR wise, the Romanian flag dress at the US open, then Union Jack coloured at the Romanian event, was all odd too.
-
You're still missing the point. The PL should make it clear to clubs, players and fans publicly that it and its sponsors are all cool with players and clubs taking the knee or not as they choose. They won't though as that wouldn't be true.
-
We pay booking fees for all manner things, what's the big deal?
-
Yep, she's rudderless at the moment, and it's pretty disrespectful to bin the guy that made you successful. I'm not an Anthony Joshua fan, but he's looking at other coaches to supplement his long term coach. That's gives him continuity, and scope for growth with new people and ideas. Hopefully she can get or be given some sound advice and direction.
-
Questions are always tough to answer when the answer highlights that you're talking bollox. Poor effort
-
The "if you don't applaud the knee as a sound idea, you are a racist" line is offensive. That's what gets on my tits. Ivan Toney, Wilf Zaha, John Barnes, etc think it's bollox. White men going to this extent to champion a campaign that black men don't support are on an ego trip.

Livramento never played as a 10 for the Chelsea kids, he played as a RM. I can see what he brings to the team, but it's a different ball game picking the ball up in defence and running at wingers/midfielders to picking the ball up 40+m upfield and running at defenders. My main issue though is losing his runs from deep. They've been vital to how we've played this season. He's a cracking young player and although I get the sentiment of the masses, he's our best RB by some margin and I'd keep him there.
