    Coronavirus

Spot on. Men aren't being taken off to fight / die / get crippled. Women aren't staying at home getting bombed and living in fear. Kids aren't being put on a train to stay with strangers in the countryside. Instead they have to wear a little mask, have to pour their beer at home not a pub, have to have a takeaway not go out for dinner, have to stay at home but still get paid. Sure, there are many people who's lives and businesses have been decimated by this and that's tragic, but those who haven't lost jobs or loved ones need to get a sense of perspective. Others have had - and are having - a lot worse.
  2. Kevin Bond. The Harry Maguire of his era.
  3. Hmm...hopefully "sooner rather than later" doesn't mean "we'll look to sell you in Jan if you're not on the train".
  4. It wasn't other players who blocked his path to selection.

Academic for me, I'll have the vaccine if it's offered.
  7. Yep to all of that. HS2 was always a show pony, and now I can't see any justification. CGT bound to come up to income tax levels, and reliefs cut it not abolished. Income tax possibly leave alone until higher rate, but a lower threshold to catch more. However you cut it, we're a bit fucked.
  8. How's Will Ferry played? I thought he be around the 1st team this season.

Fair points. Requirements to do certain stuff is a different issue rather being obliged by the government to line up and get jabbed. A tweak to Raging bull question - where do people stand on having the vaccine if it's a requirement to watching the footy at the ground, or going on a plane? I'd imagine it'll change a few minds.
  11. Go on, you'll learn something.

I don't agree with any medication or similar being compulsory, that's a step too far for me. If I wasn't asthmatic and didn't know people so impacted by it I'd probably take my chances, and can understand why many would.

Ditto. I caught up with an old friend this week. She has long Covid and has been very unwell. 49. No prior health issues. Runs 10 miles daily. That's the 3rd person I know still suffering. I'd rather take my chances with the vaccine than Covid.

  15. There's been a press embargo, hence it may be a sensitive matter. Whatever the issue, it sounds like he's getting there though, and that he's got huge potential. He'll play when he's ready.
  16. There's no article on the link, but we know he arrived wit a muscle injury and slight niggle, LeG posted above that: "he had a muscular injury and a slight niggle when we signed him"
  17. I get that but the inconsistency of focusing on "cheap lousy faggot" , whilst leaving alone "old slut on junk" directed at a woman made no sense. Slut is no less demeaning than faggot imo. It's probably only a matter of time before the ageist brigade pipe up as well.
  18. Sad times. I read something about a word in the second verse going, but couldn't see what that could be. Perhaps it was pointing to slut.
  19. Random
  20. "Your an old slut on junk" directly labelling the woman as an old, promiscuous druggy. That lyric stays in, without comment from anyone. "your a cheap lousy faggot" has to go. In the context of the song, the fella is straight. Crazy world.

  22. Err, the word you're arguing against does work, it's just that you're suggesting something that doesn't.
  23. Doesn't work : "arguing he is being "justice" by successor Sir Keir Starmer.
  24. No more inane than moaning about it or posting on threads like this about completely irrelevant shit.
  25. What about, what about, what about. I'll repeat FTF's questions. What's a better word given that his supporters claim his treatment is politically motivated?
