Smelling salts on your rice crispies?

No idea, and she may have hung on to 20% because she had to, or wanted to, or just because Gao offer wasn't sufficient to take the lot. I suspect we'll never know the truth. I make the point I do because of the various comments blaming her. Sure, Gao had been a disaster, but Kat couldn't be expected to throw money at the club and sold her inheritance (presumably to the highest bidder). That is understandable.

Ever heard of the whip? The point is that at least one tory mp has been more willing to state the bleeding obvious than some on here.
-
Not many people inherit property or business assets but don't sell them. She's done what most people would do.
-
Yawn. What may or may not have happened in the past in respect of unrelated matters is irrelevant. Even a Tory MP has been sufficiently honest to tweet that this idiot has to go.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Yep. Every premier league will have cash flow issues after the Covid fall out, especially without the TV money / having to return TV money. They'll all have players with hands out for wages but sponsors not wanting to pay for no marketing, ditto TV companies no product. Sure, some clubs will have owners more able / willing to prop clubs up with their own cash, but that won't apply across the board and/or be sustainable.

Yep, Alastair Campbell absolutely nails it. https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/alastair-campbell-on-dominic-cummings-trip-to-durham-1-6667985

Apparently it's cos Trump is president, and that's cos people believe Noah built a boat. And that affects everyone.
-
Because they're stupid. I've dealt with the point in my response. You have your own beliefs about what other people do and why, and somehow think it's relevant to you. That says more about you than them.
-
I refer to my previous comment re prayer. You are a man of assumptions, presumptions, and misunderstandings. If, however, someone chooses to pray for their uncle tom to be cured of some ill, let them crack on. It may give them some comfort. It sure doesn't impact on you or me.
-
I read it. I asked how it impacts you. All this effort kind of suggests it really matters to your life. In any event, if you interpret the story literally, who are you to judge if other people do.
-
So, someone interpreting an allegory in the way you do, is only a big issue if they run for a senior government position. Got that. Let's say Mary worked in a shop, how does it impact on you? The truth, of course, is that it doesn't but for some reason you're incapable of allowing people to think freely, notwithstanding that it makes no difference to you or anyone else.
-
Your comments about prayer, and why people pray and what they pray for, highlights your complete lack of understanding. And no, I can't be arsed to elaborate.
-
You've said. I've explained that I can understand why. Tell me how Mary from Tennessee believing that Noah built a big boat impacts on you.
-
I repeat that I am not helping you move the goalposts. If you can use Wikipedia, you can use Google. Do some research of your own. Noah and The Ark is not literal. Ditto other parts of the Bible.
-
I'm not helping you move the goalposts to another part of the Bible. However, do some research as I've suggested, and you'll see reference to various bible stories that are widely felt to be allegory / metaphorical.
-
How some interpret the stories is a matter for them. However, if their interpretation is that Noah really built a big boat, it matters not to nobody else. The world won't end because that's what they believe. By the same token, the world won't end because you have a closed mind.
-
As others have said, your stubbornness is unreal. I hate to burst your bubble, but your understanding / interpretation may not be correct. An allegory, by its nature, is open to interpretation. Just dare to open your mind and do a bit of research into the metaphor interpretation.
-
Have you googled and read, or are you still arrogantly holding on that your understanding is correct? Contempt before investigation Matthew.. 1.No. Show me a piece of abstract art that says "this is a piece of abstract art" on it. The story is a metaphor / allegory. Other Bible stories are too. 2. No idea. 3. God is a deity. Not an author.

Blimey, I was working today and have just checked on the forum. This is hilarious. MLG. Please educate yourself. Type these words into Google, then read some of the links. "is the Noah and The Ark story a metaphor" Also substitute "allegory" for metaphor. Believe it or not, not everything is literal, or intended to be.
