It's not worth the response mate. The story is a parable. The bottom line is this thread has gone a zillion miles off tangent and I have no interest in the Bible, and I suspect that you don't either, so why it matters to you whether a particular bible story is a parable or something else God only knows.

Every time I come back on here there's someone different trying to prove, or seek proof, of something that they don't understand or claim to have no interest in. It's as funny as it is baffling.

The Good Samaritan story is a parable. Google is your friend.

Inevitable. They'll lose everyone half decent. The significance of this for me is that Henderson is possibly either getting the gloves for Man Utd and De Gea is off, or he's on the move somewhere. Chelsea would be a great club for him.

Good for you Trousers. This opinion thing isn't for you is it.

Yep, Jon Richardson is awful. Up there with Dara O'Briain and Harry Hill as clever blokes having a crack at comedy.
-
It pains me to say it, but I'm the same.

Read the words Matty boy...whatever we did - repeat. Token friendlies for publicity and a kick about = micky mouse friendlies.

I'd be happy if we did whatever we did before the restart. We came back fit, fresh and firing on all cylinders. I'll settle for more of that, no micky mouse friendlies.

Sarah Millican is hilariously unfunny. Saw her at Jongleurs 15+ years ago, and she's coming out with the same shite lines now.

Has anyone said that? The idea has crept into my head that we may not bring in a CM. That's a different thing.

Smallbone played for the younger teams more as an attacking midfielder, or a number 10. He's a poor man's Lallana for me. I don't see him in one of the two in front of the back 4, but he's not a wide man either so doesn't really fit into the wide slots. I've only seen Jankewitz once but he impressed me. Very much a CM, looked strong, always eager for the ball, uses it well, quick over the first few yards. He had something about him from what I saw.

Cheers, that is very encouraging.

Hope you're right.

Not sure how you lurch to that Benjii. An allegory which a person can't make sense of because they aren't open minded does not make the parable "purely subjective fantasy". It makes it unrecognisable to an individual because of their closed beliefs. Nobody has argued on here that there is any ontological evidence in support of a God. Or indeed any any evidence to verify the parables in the bible. I do not agree with MLG. He has shown himself time and again to fail to understand the subject. Your comments suggests you may not be far behind.

JV never lifted himself off the ground, was slow and had the turning circle of a barge. He never looked suitable to me, although my judgement is questionable - I'm embarrassed to say that I thought Hoedt looked a great prospect!

I've only read about McKennie but I can't help but think we'll use Reed, with Jankewitz and Smallbone to come in from time to time. I've seen Jankewitz and he looks a player. Personally I'd rather bring someone in with a bit of creativity but I can't see it happening.

Because the stories are allegory. Not factual. The fiction is added to give context. It's a simple notion, but alas it gets lost on the simple. This thread has got more ridiculous. Non believers in God getting bogged down by the text of a book that they a) don't understand, b) don't recognise and c) seemingly think was written by the God that they don't recognise! You couldn't make it up. That's all whist losing sight of the fact that millions of people believe in a God but have no interest in the bible and/or do not recognise the existence of Jesus or any foot soldier of God - organised religion, the Bible and God do not have to go hand in hand.

Yep, you can't have an unspecified and ambiguous line. Often in movies non black people are addressed by the n word. Is that OK though cos it's "in context" as it's his black mate who uses the term?
