Been a hard watch...

Dominant performance today and happy to be proved wrong after our indifferent start.

A good win against a pretty average side. Still struggle to see that formation working and in terms of clear cut chances we didn't create much bar the goals. Not getting carried away but a win breathes confidence but we need to be much better to win on Sunday.

Well look at the gates for the euro games last season, they were good. But the way we have started the season will have a knock on effect on ticket sales. For me this is a must win for confidence, wins in whatever cup are vital right now. Strongest team please.

Trouble is Redmond was a reed signing... probably expected to be played. Gutted today but every saints fan could see we were short in the goals department and we didn't really do anything about it. Let's just hope this boufal is the business. 2 goals in 4 games says it all.

Think this game will show us where we are compared to last season. If we can keep the game tight and play ok then fair enough.if we get battered then worry. If we win party time.

Jim white is very underwhelming

You could understand an early sell if we needed the funds to invest...but it looks like we've had our pants pulled down over this deal and we easily could have pushed for a few more million but it would have only added to the liebhers bank balance anyway.

Don't blame puel as such, his formation obviously worked in France. But les reed went for him when I imagine nobody else was available or those who were interested were possibly put off by what the club wanted to invest back into the team. Just feel pretty underwhelmed by the whole episode as do pretty much every saints fan I know. I can't see how this can be part of the 5 year plan and also the fact that the youth/academy teams all played the same formation and we've now gone totally the opposite direction. I'd love to see us improve under puel but I think it's a appointment made in haste when time was running out. Also les and Ralf seem to have gone very quiet.

I don't blame the manager as such as he's playing a formation that's obviously worked in France but we look bloody terrible. Les reed made a decision to employ a manager that plays a way we don't have the players for and also a system that is cemented within structure of the club and also our transfers have been pretty underwhelming. On the pitch today the players didn't seem to know where they were meant to be and they seemed very frustrated. Long season ahead unless things change.

Use Rodriguez in for the Europa league, I still feel that given a bit of time and some confidence he could recapture his form. The poor lad must be physiologically poor place after what he's gone through. But we need to make a few standout signings... the guys I go to games with are so underwhelmed with where we are right now. We ain't pushing on that's for sure. Yet....

Lots of positives on the 2nd half?? I didn't see many mainly because Watford surrendered position and sat back.we had lots of possession but did very little with it. It's been a pretty underwhelming summer when most saints fans were looking for the club to push on we've stalled. Let's hope some good work is going on behind the scenes.

Has the ex Watford manager Flores been mentioned. Thought he did a great job with an average side at Watford. Michael laundry could be another outsider. But with saints it will be someone off the radar more likely.

Just had to say how good was radical today, just watched back the highlights and those through balls were world class. Looks a different player since his national team issues came to light.
