  1. Now that's what I call a strong starting lineup! I've got a much better feeling about this. COYS!!!
  2. I've defended Redmond in the past, but that performance redefined shit for me. Ings was also abysmal again - just playing for himself. I'm just not sure who we play instead of him? Positives were Forster, Tella (who has to start next time), JWP, Djenepo and for once us growing into the game in the second half. We keep coming up against sides who do the darker side (diving, niggling fouls, etc) so much better than us (Everton, poor brave Leeds, Wolves, Leicester) - although I hate saying so it's time to become a bit more nasty and to take more opportunities to win freekicks - we're far too honest at the moment.
  3. Strictly speaking according to the daft new laws that was denial of a clear goal scoring chance by not playing the ball - a pen and a red card. But to be fair those should never be given as they are a joke. Although Che may have been offside...
  4. IMO it's because our game is entirely reliant on energy and everyone following a highly detailed game plan. Less time between games means less detail and time to practice. Less time means less recovery. Unfortunately as soon as our players have to think for themselves and we have to deviate from the game plan (i.e. when someone gets sent off) we go to pieces.
  5. That was incredibly disappointing. We had more than enough of the game to lead at half time, but what is more disappointing is how easily we gave up the game once we were losing. Surely we need to go back to the approach we took against Chelsea? Let the opposition have a bit more of the ball and play a counter attacking game. It's easy to get bogged down in the relentless "bad luck" we've had with decisions, but we were masters of our own downfall today. What on earth is wrong with Ings - looks like hes going through the motions?
  6. Anyone who tells me that there isn't an agenda against us needs to look at the some total of decisions that have gone our way and those that have gone against us. Since that iffy penalty against Brighton I swear we haven't had one borderline decision go for us. If there was no cheating at least one would go our way...
  7. Its got 0-0 written all over it!
  8. IMO he needs a break - he'll either continue to perform poorly or will break down completely. I'm not saying don't play him at all - just bring him on fresh against tiring legs and manage him through the next couple of weeks.
  9. Couldn't disagree more. Ings wasn't at the races at all yesterday (and has been slowly going backwards) - he looks like he needs a rest (either that or his head is somewhere else). Let him come off the bench to score a 90th minute winner. Redmond had a good game yesterday - set up the first nearly set up another and did the running for both him and Ings. I'd start with Che and Redmond up top and grind leeds down before giving Danny 30 mins to do what he does best.
  10. Ings really has been shite today
  11. As bad as jankewitz's challenge imo - not in control at all and studs up. The rule book is very very clear
  12. Amazing pass from Redmond and a great piece of composure! Hopefully that will give us some confidence.
  13. From what I've seen we seem to have 2 game plans, one where we accept we're not having the ball and press but play cautiously and hit the opposition on the break. The other is very similar but we dominate possession and the focus is more on the ball than against it.
  14. It pains me to say this, but against Chelsea I think we should go back to playing the majority of the game against the ball and hitting them on the break rather than the dominate the hell out of possession until we run out of steam approach that hasn't been working since the backs the wall performance against Liverpool. It would be ugly, but we need to try and keep a clean sheet, build some confidence in defence and then look to push on once we've picked up a point or two. For me it is more about approach than formation or personnel.
  15. McCarthy isn't very good at the moment so persisting with him rather than giving someone who hasn't proven one way or other a chance seems like a brilliant way of carrying in being crap.
  16. God i hate wolves cheating dirty cunts. So much diving - time for referees to apply the rules of the game and actually book players for simulation.
  17. We need to show a bit more fight - as soon as decisions go against us we wilt pathetically. Looking at decisions over the last few games you could argue there is an agenda from the referees, but let's accept it and use it to our advantage.
  18. What do you think of Walcott and Ings who have both missed a number of sitters are they garbage too????
  19. I'm basing it on having watched every second of every match this year. Prior to his covid break he was one of our best performers and we were getting numerous clean sheets. Since hes come back he hasn't kept a clean sheet, he's made a number of big mistakes and has conceded a lot of goals, but most importantly his distribution and decision making has been poor.
  20. Mine is based on McCarthy having been poor for a while now - he's indecisive, doesn't know when to kick the ball long and his positioning has been questionable at best (beaten far too often at his near post). FF may not be the long term solution but he's been vocal, decisive and made good decisions (putting his foot through the ball at the right times).
  21. He's looked solid every time he has played this season - admittedly mostly against weaker opposition than McCarthy has had to deal with (obviously ignoring Liverpool). He's earned his chance but more importantly the defence have looked more confident with him behind them - probably because he's more sure of himself. No brainer for me...
  22. Forster was miles better than McCarthy has been for a long time - knew when to put his foot through it and committed himself when he needed to. Much better team performance. Didn't think Redmond was as bad as everyone else seems to think. Salisu looked good albeit with a few iffy moments. Armstrong was a class above tonight.
  23. Completely agree. Europe is a bonus but the fa and League cup are the only things we've got a hope of winning and I'd love for us to win something meaningful in my lifetime.
  24. Having had 24 hours to be a bit more rational about this, I'm surprised Ings isn't getting more grief. He was really poor yesterday - he had 2 chances that he should have put away and his touch was really heavy - if he'd put them away we would have won and we would be having a very different debate on here. He doesn't seem to have recaptured his form and always looks knackered. I'm beginning to think he needed a bit more time before coming back. Otherwise I wonder if it would have been better for bednarek to start at right back from the start - easy to say with hindsight, but he suffered more than anyone against United and it clearly has impacted his confidence and that change helped the problems with having Stephens at right back. From a plan b perspective we haven't had one in 3 years so I don't expect that to change any time soon, but we have picked up a lot of points with a very average squad so I'm less worried about that than the whole team's ability to score goals which is my biggest worry at the moment - I just don't see where it goals are coming from without Ings playing well.
  25. We need a plan to break teams down - it's been our problem for ages. If a team don't come out we don't have a clue what to do. Individual performances side Ralph needs a plan b.
