Blimey there is some mass hysteria on here... We're sensibly letting Yoshida go, we've replaced a bang average Cedric with KWP a player who is no worse, is young and has some potential and we've let some youngsters go on loan. There is no good business to be done in January unless we want to pay through the nose. We've set ourselves up nicely for a decent summer window. Now I'm not saying the summer will be decent, but I don't think the club have got much wrong this window. I've previously been very critical of our transfer business, but credit where it is due Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk

Keeping Gunn, Vestergaard and Yoshida out of the side, sticking with a settled 4 at the back, fullbacks playing at fullback and a largely settled team with a consistent approach. Reading between the lines he's worked out who will play his way for him and who won't. Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk

Also I think Ralph has finally worked out who his first choice team is (particularly at the back) and the team is massively benefitting from consistency. Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk

Playing the same back 4 week in week out seems to be starting to pay off... Who would have thought it Great result. Let's hope Ralph can make a couple of decent additions in Jan and we can push on.... (Sorry Im getting carried away now) Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -
At some point someone at the club needs to realise that new manager bounce can only take us so far.... We need better players and have done for ages. Our academy isn't producing, our find a gem strategy is flawed now that everyone else is doing the same thing, ... Time to ditch the Southampton way and do something else Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Fundamentally Ralph needs to realise that the players at his disposal have not been bought to play his system and never will be up to it. Ditch the 4-2-2-2 and go back to a 4-3-3 with romeu playing as a holding player and shielding the back line. All of our centre backs are woefully inept so the last thing they need is the chuckle brothers playing to-me to-you in front of them. The players are mostly ****, but Ralph needs to wake up to this and do something different (I'm beginning to think he's a one trick pony) - after all the club aren't going to buy him one decent player in January. Given the way West ham fell apart last night I suspect this will be a game where we fight it out for 70 mins and then both teams try their best to lose for the remaining 20. The least fragile team will win and the ref/var will probably have a big part to play in deciding. 3-2 to saints, but it will be a hard watch Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

The first thing we need to address is a decent CB to play alongside bednarek. Next we need a CM with some creativity - someone who can control the tempo of the game and dictate play. Then we need a decent CB to replace bednarek. Then a defensive midfielder to give romeu a run for his money. After that a RB to replace Cedric, another striker, a LB to really push Bertrand, .... Last of all is another wide attacking player.... Unfortunately if history is anything to go by we'll buy the latter first Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Fair enough, from the job title and his background as an analyst I'd assumed he was just a part of the coaching team rather than being Ralph's number 2... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -

Or look at it another way, we've not got an assistant manager or DoF and there seems to be no urgency to either being appointed - otherwise they would be there already. Strikes me as a move to make the club lean ready for a sale - make the books look as good as possible Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk -

Has Steve Walsh actually been confirmed and in what capacity or is this more wishful thinking? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -

I'm assuming this is from the same manji that said: "We are going to have a cracking squad, Ralph is also rebuilding the board. I’m really looking forward to next season but we should be careful of our expectations. A lot of next season is going to be moulding the squad to the Ralph way." I hope he's right, but I'm sceptical...I don't see any logical reason not to have announced the appointment already. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -

That's because it's just more propaganda... The new DOF will arrive in a magic flying bus pulled by unicorns with Quincy Promes, Theo Walcott and a suitcase full of transfer funds. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -

This imminent appointment has another whiff of bull**** about it.... Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk -
Completely agree with you for me it's the arrogant approach to recruitment that is at the heart of everything. I don't see why we should expect the owner to spunk his money, he's reinvested what money is there, but we've squandered it on a load of ****e believing our own black box hype and also that our academy is the best in the land. We won 4-0 against a division 1 side... Is Sunday league a step up from division 1 these days? I guess you've gone fishing and I've bitten, but FFS it's crap like this that drags this place down Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Strictly speaking you would say you bought it for the money you paid plus the money you borrowed, not the total amount you will pay including interest.... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I remember us having a similar problem when WGS was manager and he put it down to fitness. Personally I think it's a lack of fitness and is not having enough leadership on the field. Add one or two strong characters and give Ralph a pre season and I think we'll see something very different. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Genuine question, do you think we're ok up front? For me CB and a decent striker are top for me with a decent backup RB being next. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
