Is it composure with the final ball or just a lack of quality movement from his team mates - there were a lot of times yesterday where the latter was happening. Often Redmond seems to make a poor decision but actually has no choice because no one is running for him Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I can't wait for the dream team of jwp and Davis coming to save the day... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I don't think Davis should be anywhere near the bench was my point... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Austin in the team and Davis on the bench. Defies any sense. Hughes really is an idiot. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

It's horrible being a saints fan at the moment: - win and we continue with Hughes - draw and we probably continue with Hughes and another 2 points goes begging - lose and there is a slim possiblity that Hughes gets the chop and 3 points go begging. There are significant downsides no matter the result. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

According to a QPR fan I know, their fans hold him responsible and absolutely hate him (even to this day). When Hughes first joined I was told exactly what to expect and all of it has come true. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

The thing that scares me the most is Hughes being given free reign in the January transfer window. We'll see a new level of dross added to the team. History shows that Hughes' transfer policy is to buy players that were good three years ago, but not so good now. Just ask QPR fans.... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

It seems our indecision isn't solely down to Les as many have suggested beforehand. Given Les' track record we should have had a replacement lined up already and said replacement should have already been brought in with their choice of manager. Another systemic failure... This stuff isn't hard. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

In what way is the football more aesthetically pleasing? We're playing some of the wrost stuff I've seen in years. There is literally nothing progressive or innovative about it. We have become the antithesis of the supposed Southampton way; **** football, no progression from the academy and doing nothing that sets us apart from the rest. Depressing times. Because they are both box to box hard working midfielders. Neither never have been defensive midfielders,b but a so called football expert like yourself would no that, whereas a qualified football coach like myself wouldn't. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Completely agree. Also hoedt gets another chance despite being completely cock last week whereas Stephens gets the chop. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

No defensive midfield again. We'll get overrun in midfield while we "try" to win. There's no one in that team to counteract Watford's physicality. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

That's kind of my point. Hughes should be just as vulnerable as he was before Reed left. His only excuse could possibly be "Les told me to", otherwise he's just hopelessly out of his depth. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

IMO the only way Hughes should get more time is if the line up he uses on Saturday suddenly includes different players (as if to imply les was interfering) and we play a better brand of football. Unfortunately the line ups, tactics, etc will ask be the same. I also dread to think about the utter crap we would bring in if Hughes has his say. Geoff Cameron anyone?? Ability or Attitude of the players - what’s worse?
StrangelyBrown replied to SKD's topic in The Saints
Players don't suddenly forget how to do the basics - very few of our players lack technical ability (long is clearly an exception). Unfortunately players can become unfit, lack sharpness, struggle to understand their positions or the positions of those around them, be mentally weak, ... All of these things stem from poor coaching and ask of them are things I've seen constantly over the last two years. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -
We'll set up to go for it and will get over run in midfield. 1-2 to Watford Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I disagree entirely about talent - you can't draw any conclusions. Puel was a decent manager, but his style of football was dreadful and he got mostly decent results out of this team. Mopo was hopelessly out of his depth so you can't judge the capability of the team as quite clearly the players didn't understand what the manager was trying to do. Hughes again is a hopeless manager (in the modern game) and clearly hasn't a clue how to win a game of football. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -
6 mins without conceding - we've turned a corner! Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

This... I'm worried that it will be a small margin i.e. 1-0 or 2-0 and Hughes will get more time Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

"In business...." What a load of cobblers. In business if you are clearly out of your depth you get the chop very quickly particularly if results aren't good enough. Les is surviving on past reputation and that results haven't been quite bad enough to justify a change. However, he must be feeling the heat at the moment particularly after a number of wasteful signings, a number of failed managerial appointments and a poor season last year. I could name 10 good things that les has done. Hughes on the other hand is a genuine struggle; he's got Redmond playing better, he's kept Fraser out of the 1st team, he kept us up last year, ... But then I can't find much more to say. This isn't about having an agenda - it's about recognising that Hughes is out of his depth and therefore should be given the chop especially as results have been woeful. Has he gone yet? This was one game we should have won and we didn't. If we can't pick up 3 points against a bottom 3 side at home we're going down. Simply not good enough. A less than bang average team with a half decent manager would have won today. Unfortunately we are **** and have another clown in charge. It's going to be a long season Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

He doesn't, he runs around a lot. End of Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
