  1. Hughes has all but signed his own p45... Charlie Austin ffs Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  2. In answer to the original question, watching ormerod practice kick ups before one game told me everything I needed to know about him - a world record of 3 was the best he could manage. However, he mostly knew where the goal was. Long on the other hand seems to have no idea what he is supposed to shoot at (or do on a football field) and for me is not a footballer, just a very fast pest. So it's a no brainer for me - Brett. For the other question, Rickie every time. By far and away our most natural finisher for a long long time. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  3. For me: McCarthy Cedric Stephens hoedt Bertrand Hojberg lemina Redmond Armstrong Ely Gabbi/ings Subs: Gunn, targett, obafemi, Romeu, vestergard, ings/Gabbi, jwp Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  4. Is it a requirement to always have one **** striker on the pitch in a mark Hughes 442? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  5. That's perfectly easy to understand, but isn't what is being suggested - the suggestion is that players over 30 are somehow better leaders, which is complete nonsense. Thid is the sort of short term thinking that leads to a massive waste of money (e.g. West ham, Everton, ..) - hardly surprising in the age that demands instant results, but we aren't a big enough club to sustain losing money needlessly. Recruiting decent players over thirty generally means high wages and a relatively rapid decline in usefulness. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  6. I find it odd that there is a suggestion that you need to be 30+ to be a leader. While experience helps, leadership is a matter of character and the fundamental problem is that we haven't signed anyone with any leadership qualities to replace those who have left. Signing a 32 year old is not going to guarantee leadership quality, but what it does guarantee is a diminishing return on investment. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  7. Is this a call to turn into West ham and spunk money on players who used to be good 3 years ago.... At least we have a manager who has form for that sort of transfer strategy... Not that it worked for him Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  8. Not sure if believe hoedt is anything other than incompetence by Hughes. He's been playing long for weeks before finally the penny dropped. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  9. This is absolutely spot on and why Hughes should be gone Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  10. Easy peasy. Unless your name is Mark Hughes.... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  11. McCarthy Cedric Yoshi vestergard targett Romeu hoj Jwp Armstrong Redmond Ings/Gabbi Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  12. For all the people who thought we should give Hughes more time, are you still thinking the same? I don't see anything improving Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  13. I was firmly in the he "earned the opportunity having kept us up" camp, but what is clear to me is that Hughes doesn't have any ideas to move us forwards. In fact, despite plenty of evidence against some of his selections he continues to pick players who are either crap or haven't got the character to up their game when things get tough. As an absolute minimum I expect a manager to react to what is going on in a game and should be capable of identifying: - Players who aren't paying well or aren't up to it - A lack of leadership on the pitch - A system that isn't working - A change in the opposition's tactics For me none of this is happening. A change is needed, but not until something is done about Les and Ralph. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  14. Long, no ings or gabbiadini. Hughes has lost the plot. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  15. I'd argue that if you compare one team against the other you would pick half of our players and half of the other team in a lot of cases. I think the problem is one of leadership both on and off the field. With a couple of leaders in our side and a better manager we would be a very different side Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  16. I don't think the side is the problem. Compare us with individual sides outside the top 6 how many of each side would get into ours? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  17. Looking at this differently do you honestly think we won't be bottom 6 after 12 games? Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk
  18. Positives: hoj is playing his best football in a saints shirt, Redmond looks a lot better this year, ings seems to know how to play upfront and knows where the goal is, westergaard looks like a decent player and McCarthy looks good. Negatives: long continues to make a living as a professional headless chicken, Cedric looks poor, we lack any character when the going gets tough, tactical changes are mind boggling, we have 2 incredibly slow centre backs and consequently are vulnerable to pace, we've not won games we should win. Most importantly Hughes doesn't seem to know how to make it better. 3/10 Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  19. We have consistency; we are consistently underperforming, consistently dropping points we shouldn't, consistently playing a championship level striker who runs about a bit, consistently playing 2 centre halves who have no pace whatsoever, consistently playing a right back who has struggled for form over the last year, .... I'm sure we'll consistently play 442 under Hughes and consistently get over run in midfield when we lose momentum and hughes will consistently do the wrong thing to address the issues. How is that consistency working out for us? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  20. Dismal stuff in the second half. Didn't look up for it in the slightest. Can only blame the manager for that. **** substitutions didn't really change anything for the better. Hughes needs to up his game, but sadly I think he's too far behind the times. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  21. Hughes has lost this game for us by not addressing our loss of momentum. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
