  1. I just want to get it over with, I've had one of those dead days today and this is all I've been able to think about. From being quite relaxed about it all, the goal difference swing has turned me a little nervous...! As that advantage no longer exists.
  2. Nothing in them at all. Very hopeful.
  3. Similar happened after the Barnsley away game, all of a sudden they won 4-0 and were world beaters. I think it got to their heads too as they were caught off guard by Birmingham. I can't see all 3 winning in mid-week, one will slip up. I still wouldn't swap our fixtures for WHU's, I think they've got 3 horrible fixtures to get through - and get 3 wins from. Let's not forget that, nothing less than 3 wins is good enough for them, whereas we can drop a point or 2 and still do it. (not that I want us to drp any points)
  4. Reading are exactly the same. It's working well for them tbf.
  5. They'll also be putting out a makeshift defence as they're without Gabriel Zakuani, in the running for their player of the season I believe.
  6. If you thought we had it all tied up a few weeks ago, then more fool you. It was never going to be straight forward. There were going to be twists and turns and there still will be. and even after those twists and turns we sit in pole position for the prize. It will only be a screw up if we actually do fail, until then I have all faith in the management and the players to get us over the line. Perhaps you need to start having some faith.
  7. I watched the sky + recording earlier, some of our movement and passing was on par with us early in the season. It was one of those games which came at the wrong time of the season. Play like that as P'Boro, as people keep saying, we will win easily.
  8. Dear me. He's one of the best managers in English football in the last 2 seasons, comparable with Alex Ferguson and Mancini. Our success this season is as much down to him and his positive management as it is down to Rickies goals. I don't think he's bought poorly. Sharp is decent, proven at this level and will and has scored goals. Jack Cork is a classy player, no doubts about that. Jos is a fantatic buy. Fox is one of the best LB's in the league. Chaplow has been excellent for us. And the list goes on... I can't see Cortese sacking him whatever, he's bought into what we're trying to do here and is part of the long-term. No doubts about that.
  9. It's a good point, the first goal in this game was always crucial. Both us and Reading have gone on and won when we've scored first, so the early goal, against the run of play, set it up perfectly for them. It was an incredibly sloppy bit of play and it's something we've been doing a bit too much in recent weeks if I'm honest. The 3 goals against Blackpool were avoidable, the last goal against Pompey was avoidable if we didn't neglect to leave Norris free in the final minute. Cut the sloppiness out and we'll win all 3, we're playing well enough. That's the frustrating thing.
  10. This is what I alluded to above, people already expect us to walk it next year if we fail this year. Straight away the expectation is on us, we've done so well this year because it wasn't on us. Next season is a different kettle of fish if we're still here and trust me, it won't be as fun as this year.
  11. Easy to say that, but he wouldn't have put any of the chances away. We played well enough but weren't clinical enough, Morgan wouldn't have changed that. We do miss the composure he gives us though, I'll give you that, but I don't think he'd have made much of a difference to the game yesterday if Reading were intent on being that jammy.
  12. To be fair, the worst we'd finish is third so we'd be home in the 2nd leg. Not that we'll be in the playoffs!
  13. Great cross from one of their danger men. It was Fonte who misjudged it completely, and Fox who presented them with the opportunity in the first place. Blaming Davis for that goal is just pointless. Looking for problems where there aren't any.
  14. http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/leeds-4-peterborough-1/ Rickie and Sharp will be drooling over that standard of defending.
  15. If Billy Paynter (Paynter FFS???) can score a brace against them, we surely have every chance.
  16. Because they've lost most weeks this year, due to them being badly managed at all levels. We'll be much more prepared when we go up. I remember PNE fans saying the same when they were fighting for promotion most seasons, but never quite making it. Eventually it all took it's toll and look where they sit now. Sod being gallant losers, let's get the job done because the premier league will push this club on even more.
  17. They're a very strange club, who have this idea that they're some sort of potential south coast mega team, when the reality is that they're tin pot.I don't think they'll be getting into the premier league any time soon.
  18. Well they would say that. Would be interesting to get views from Norwich and Swansea fans too.
  19. It's been a good season for sure, but not going up now will throw it all away and it will always be looked at as a pretty big failure.
  20. Absolutely this!!! You have it all spot on there. People are forgetting last season already, it was so much tighter than it is now but we got over the line by winning at places you never expected us to.
  21. Excellent news.
  22. I see where you're coming from Crab's, but I'm also in the camp of ''keeping your feet on the ground and looking at the positives." I still believe there are more positives than negatives in our situation. West Ham's task is tougher than ours; they have to go to Leicester who are a very dangerous team with excellent players. They will not have much to play for by that time but it will still be a tricky obstacle for West Ham. They also have to travel to Bristol City who need to win on Tuesday night, otherwise they're sucked right into trouble again - both teams will have the pressure on them on Tuesday night and it'll be interesting to see who blinks first in that. In contrast we have Peterborough who are a funny side. Their season is over, they have nothing to play for and they're already blooding youngsters and squad players as we saw today. I'd much prefer that fixture than going to a fired up and in form Bristol City side. We then have Middlesbrough away who have a very iffy home record, and although an outside chance of the playoffs it's slim...and they're relying on other results to get into them. I can't see us losing there, but a draw will be perfectly adequate. Then we go into the last match day. We're at home to a poor Coventry city team and West Ham are at home to a decent Hull City team, who will be dangerous with nothing to play for. So looking at it like that, we're in the best position. We're 3 points ahead already, we have a better goal difference (albeit quite slim now) and we have some favourable fixtures in comparison to West Ham's. I don't see it as being as straight forward as West Ham getting 9 out of 9 either, I think they'll slip in at least one of those and the reality is that they cannot afford a single slip, whereas we can. This time next week we'll know what's going on. If we're going into the last day in 2nd position with a decent advantage on goal difference, then its set perfectly as far as I'm concerned. As frustrating as this weekend’s results have been, you cannot look past the bigger picture which illustrates that we're still in pole position to do this. Believe.
  23. If we stay down it won't be as easy as just 'going again' next year. Next year we will have the expectation on our shoulders as we'd all expect us to compete. This season we have come into the league somewhat unsure of what to expect and it's been a good laugh so far. We will lose players for big bucks, there's no way you can hide away from that. I also don't believe we're going to have a good as chance as this for a long, long, long time. We need to focus and take the chance now. Remember Ipswich 6 or so years ago? They came so close and were top 2 most of the season but lost out to Wigan I think. Their best players went (even though they were supposedly financially secure) and they now continue to bobble around doing nothing at all in the league, even with investment behind them. We have to take the opportunity we have in front of us now, and I believe we will. It will not always be this good.
  24. This is taken from another forum, which is a bit of a boost. Got there so early last night that i managed to catch Barnard and Schneiderlin signing autographs outside. I asked Morgan how his knee was and how long he'd be out for, he replied with "a couple of days ish".
  25. As long as we are still 2nd going into the Coventry game then I think we're there.
