Interesting, thanks for that. I found this part interesting... ''if someone comes along and offers him the same sort of Money that ricke got offered, then he'll go - but if they only offer him a bit more than we can afford, i think he needs to take a long look at it.'' references to our interest maybe?
-
well it'll increase our likelihood of winning penalty shoot outs...
-
he was i think, but normally he is a very consistent taker. He was always cov's pen taker.
-
he's only 23 and learning the game himself! i think he's more of a Mellis type player, a direct replacement who is more suited to come straight into the team.
-
according to the B rovers forum, Leicester have joined the race for Chris Lines - but we have already made a bid of £650k -apparently he's house hunting in Southampton not sure how they'd know that tbf... http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/88017-lines/

You wouldn't find a better replacement.

some views from cov. fans: '' hes our best defender, and only one willing to commit himself to tackles and throws himself at the ball thats what the defence misses'' ''I don't begrudge Ward hanging on for a pay day in the Summer. He has been treated dreadfully by Coleman and must be fuming that he is not getting a game ahead of some of the dross (e.g. Barnett) above him in the pecking order.'' ''If I remember rightly Ward cost us £1 million and we are about to lose him for nothing in the summer, or next to nothing in January. If CC was so keen to get rid of him (as he obviously is) we should have done it long ago for a decent fee. ''Elliott Ward has never had a fair crack of the whip from Coleman. Why we had to loan Barnett for instance when Ward is a far better player, scores odd goals and penalties is beyond me.''

i can also back this up (not the specifics of the bid, but that we're very very interested in him) a player I've been banging on about for a little while. common knowledge we tried to get him before the loan deadline....and pards was very frustrated. He's worked with Pardew at west ham, when eh was coming through the ranks - he's someone that pardew rates highly. TBF he is a top championship CB - all Coventry fans agree and are bemused why he doesn't play.
-
blink and you miss it! - about 15secs, just been on.
-
Lots of noises coming from a few places back in November - we were apparently trying to get him on loan before the loan window shut, but ran out of time. this was reported in the local Coventry echo site as well i believe. It wasn't just us interested though...may have changed now.
-
Priority for Pard's is CB - so i'd take a stab and say we've put in a bid for Ward. (we were linked with him before the loan window shut in November) 2nd one is probably a midfielder - lines is a good shout.
-
another one to add to the mix 5,335 at Wigan v Hull seriously, pointless clubs. Put them back in the bottom 2 leagues where their level is.
-
****, your're right - embarrassing pointless club.
-
lol @ them. 18.5k....compared with 8k at Fratton. ....heck, 30k against Exeter, compared to their usual 14-15k. Only one winner.
-
tbf he's prob the envy of most managers in the championship too. ...spend what you want, and you don't have to sell anyone..! great job.
-
yeah, pardew confirmed when asked by the reporter.
-
hopefully we'll find out some ''gossip'' early next week.
-
tbh i don't mind Leicester, but Boro and Pompey i agree...they're both joke clubs.

What news on ticket sales for the Luton match
S-Clarke replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
just over 18k, which is good imo. -
Pardew just confirmed that we have made 2 bids for players...and we're waiting on that at the moment.
-
Pardew confirms that we have made a couple of bids for players....
-
FT - thank **** for that
-
4mins added on
-
We played better when we had Wotton holding and Morgan/Hammond pushing forward. imo anyway...
-
this has been a stinking 2nd half really....
