17 the season before that to be fair. He's clearly got pedigree, got pace, got power. Really enjoyed watching him for Sweden at the Euros.
-
Out of interest, who would you rate as higher who would come here? I don't think he's a bad player, plenty of PL experience. The 'utility' element of his game is probably right up Ralph's street as well, RB/LB and CM covered with one player. You need players like him in a squad imo. The striker will be our big one I think. I have a hunch we will break our transfer record.
-
Sounds like plenty of things are ramping up now. £60m for Isak is a huge fee, but he's a really good striker. Newcastle saving their dollar under the final weeks. The next level down from the likes of Nunez, he will be brilliant in this league I think. Big fan of him. Paquetta to WHU will also be very good. But I'll wait on that one as they've been close a few times to players.
-
Rumour has it he's still blaming Bertrand now, and he's not even here anymore.
-
Kills a few birds this one. I know he wants to play in CM, but he gives us versitility at wing back if required. It does sound like Romeu is off though sadly.
-
I didn't think we'd ever see levels of £60m for Antony Gordon. Who knows what craziness awaits in the last week!
-
You make some good points. We're not activley looking to sell Che, I'm sure of it, but there is more to a transfer than just us not wanting to sell. Maximising player values and re-investing is our moto, so if we have a situation whereby he doesn't want to sign a new contract and we get an offer of £35-40m then I'd say we'd probably be tempted. We could re-invest that in a number 10 type and an out and out striker, but I do get the nervousness as he's quite easily the only trusted goal scorer we have right now.
-
The prob is that none of these teams could afford him, 60-70k per week he's on here. We'd probably accept a nominal fee, but he's going to have to take on hell of a pay cut, at least 50% - probably more, for clubs to even consider him. It's clubs of that level that are the only ones who'd be interested in my opinion. I don't like getting into situations with players whereby we cover a portion of their wages, even after they've left. Best to just cut ties.

The poor guy has another long-term injury, he won't be going anywhere anytime soon! Will be up for a freebie next summer though, if anyone wants to take the risk.
-
He's another one we've kept around for too long imo. In the same vein as Hesketh, Sims, Ramsay etc. Never going to make it at any decent level, yet we keep them around just in case. I expect he'll be off for free on his contract expiry.
-
Didn't he struggle with a miniscus problem around Christmas last year? The club were debating an op at that point, but wanted to see how he went. Maybe they took this oppertunity to clean up the miniscus issue too.

Positives from tonight are Payne and Ballard for me. Always love seeing academy kids get a run out, one got an assist, one got a goal. Couldn't have gone much better to be honest. A relatively easy and comfortable evening, nice bit of fitness for the squad players too. Probably telling that Theo, Redmond and Stephens are nowhere near.

😃 I'm itk! in all seriousness it came up on Sky Sports thing, but it didn't copy particularly well!

Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to finalising a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Football fans love a busy transfer window/lots of new players to support, but what Forest are doing is beyond the realms of 'busy' to be honest. It’s more akin to a frenzied approach. If I was a Forest fan I'd be fearing the worst, because other teams have tried this approach before and it didn't work.
-
Another one... Nottingham Forest are interested in bringing in Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga, according to The Athletic. Forest want to bring the centre-back in on a permanent deal but are put off by Spurs' £16.8m asking price. AC Milan, Bournemouth and Napoli are all said to be in for the 23-year-old. The England U-21 international made 19 appearances for Tottenham last season but has yet to play this term.
-
I think we're a bit of an unknown to the media and other fans, and somewhat irrelevant to be honest. I have seen comments from other fans and even the media suggesting that we ''need to spend'' as we can't keep this 'sell to buy' policy and expect to stay up. This may be the season it catches up with us, so they say. But I'm confused as to why of all seasons they are spouting this now, as it's the total opposite this year. We haven’t sold anyone. Lazy and uninformed I guess.
-
ah fair enough, didn't realise. That's a blow, he's a good young player.
-
You do wonder where Everton go next, this summer has seen their already low-quality squad picked off of it's better players. Lost Richarlison, their next best bet DCL injured all the time, the next best bet Gordon now off to Chelsea. Their attack is pretty much made up of Demari Gray and Solomon Rondon. Not sure there are many goals in that. I'm sure they have targets to sign, so it'll be interesting. Broja as part of the deal seems a no brainer for them as it gets a player in the door straight away. The next week and a bit of the window is going to be fascinating, so much still to happen everywhere.
-
Broja isn't going to get much time there, he'll have a wasted 12 months if he's not careful. CHO, Pulisic, Emerson, Chalobah, Broja are all probably up for sale/loan at the right price. (I think Emerson is off to WHU)

Is this the season we cannot rely on 3 other teams to be worse than us?
S-Clarke replied to Sammy_Saint's topic in The Saints
They'll be fine. They don't give up much defensively, so that will always be a positive - but they just lack a goal scorer without Jimenez. By all accounts they're going to sign the guy we wanted, Sasa (i won't spell his last name). So, if you put him in the team with the likes of Neto, Traore, Neves, Nunes, Guedes etc they should be absolutely nowhere near and on a different level to us. I don't think they've been too bad so far, just lacking a final touch. -
It is quite incredible really, for that outlay they've not even signed a bucket load. Cuccurella, Sterling, Koulibaly, Chukwemka. Sterling adds a bit extra in attack for them, and Koulibaly was a necessity, but other than that.......they don't look any better for the outlay. Cuccurella for that fee made no sense to me, they already had Chilwell. Ditto Gordon would make no sense to me for that outlay.
-
Is it just me who doesn't get the hype around Pedro? what has he ever done to warrant this sort of fee? Given Wolves pursuit of Sasa, and Newcastle’s pursuit of Pedro...it does potentially open the door for Ramos, given that these two clubs were the others we were competing with.
-
This is what I thought, in my opinion Pulisic is on a different level to Gordon. Even Zyiech (although a slightly different sort). You could even give CHO a chance in the wide areas. Gordon is alright, just an average english player in my opinion. By all accounts Pulisic is on his way out though, why....god knows.
