  1. Really like Jan, our best CB IMO. Bit of a classic no nonsense centre half, puts his head on the line with blocks and the such. His reading of the game has improved, so his positional sense has improved on the back of it. Wins a lot in the air and is becoming a bit of a magnet. He lacks pace and the silky style of someone like VVD, but he's a typical no nonsense CB who would be prefect if partnered next to someone a little more technical/quicker. I'm not talking down Jack as he has come on leaps and bounds too, and he is a lot more technical than Jan...but it's his lack of pace which will hinder us (having two slow CB's isn't ideal in this high press way we play)
  2. On form is a pretty big statement, he's never really been what I call on form. He just has moments in games every now and then! No doubting at all that he has technical ability, but his makeup as a professional his flawed IMO. I don't see that ever changing and he'll just become a journeyman from club to club for his career. Such a waste of ability, but he's on a lot of money here so hopefully we can shift that in the summer.
  3. I don't really want him back, his mentality stinks.
  4. Couldn't the other news just relate to a new contract? Bertrands new contract for e.g? (announced before the game)
  5. Given that we seemingly almost have two new players through the door, then it's a positive start.
  6. Fair enough, pretty much confirms he's never going to make it here then. Got shot in the summer! Not sure why people keep calling for him.
  7. Sims? I've not been following him in the MLS tbh, has he done well?
  8. Didn't realise we'd been linked with Sarr, he's a good player. Had some top clubs circling him over the last few years, don't think he developed as much as it was expected though - he was supposed to be a superstar a few years back.
  9. Pretty spot on mate, our only real ITK now days!
  10. He got a medal tonight though.
  11. Yeah, crazy night. Brentford just choked with the bit of pressure in those last two games. After winning 7 on the bounce..... Amazing for Luton too, didn't see them surviving. Still up in the air for Barnsley I guess, no idea why they celebrated so madly as Wigan could still stay up.
  12. VVD having a bit of a schooling tonight.
  13. Great, more boing boing bollocks next year.
  14. Big FFP breaches.
  15. The bottom of the championship is interesting. There's Derby, Wednesday and Wigan all with substantial points deductions hanging over their heads, all of which change the makeup if they actually happen. So, who gets relegated tonight may not be the final table! It will take weeks and weeks of lawyers and crap to sort this out, may only be just before the start of the season that clubs know what league they're in. Bit of a shambles really.
  16. I fully expect Boufal to go, so yes....I'd certainly look at singing another wide player, or inside forward type. Don't have much competition in that area apart from Redmond and Moussa.
  17. Went to Shrewsbury in League 1, played a handful of games there.
  18. I heard that Ralph didn't take a liking to Slatery's attitude, and he came back mega unfit or something. Think he's the big i am. Don't see much future for him here anymore. Sims will probably leave us, not good enough for us. Ramsey was/is quite highly thought of I think, although I don't think he's anywhere near the level we will need atm. I'd expect Hesketh to go.
  19. Not entirely sure what angle MLG was trying to take here, but he's come across as a tool. Which isn't any surprise.
  20. Nope, not really.
  21. Oh dear.
  22. Surely he gets as frustrated as us then? Esp. if he'd been around under Ronald before, and then all of a sudden in come Puel, Pelligrino, Hughes. Great. Probably took a while for him to buy into Ralph after so many poor appointments previous. I can probably relate to his pain to be honest, I can't imagine many players would want to play under the 3 above. I certainly didn't want my team managed by any of them.
  23. It does feel like it has been fed from the Southampton end in some sort of tactical move to either speed it up or get another to commit. I don't think the club want this to drag on, they want it done ASAP so they're trying to force it.
  24. There's no doubts that Lemina is technically gifted and has great attributes. The problem is that he has very, very poor application to the course and mentally isn't there as a football player at the top level. That won't ever change, so we need to cut our losses this summer and see if there's a manager out there who just looks at his ability - we may get a decent amount of $ then. He's dropped out of the team at every club he's played at.
