  1. I think we're starting to see why he's fallen flat at so many clubs. Attribute wise he has plenty, good skill, power, pace. His application is absolutely shocking though and I think that's in his makeup.
  2. This is what you get with Hoj, he fits a high pressing system very well...but I've always seen him as quite an ill-disciplined player. Got a lot to learn in that respect.
  3. Decent tactical managers will always like players such as JWP and Hojbjerg. They're clever, tactically aware, can do multiple jobs. They need to be complimented by power and runners though.
  4. He's seemingly sussed out Cedric and Hoedt in the first month or so he's been here, so that's a huge positive to me. Two of our most unlikable players ever.
  5. They were way better than us last night, we looked confused and tired. Both full backs for us were absolute garbage, it has to be said. Lemina was Lemina, you think he's decent and then he does that. Redmond just ran into dead ends all night and we weren't able to stretch them. Good honest assessment from RH at the end though, that's why I feel confident that these displays will become few and far between over time.
  6. I really hope he leaves. Can't stand him.
  7. I love the fact he's already figured him out. Joke defender.
  8. Not a fan of Hummels or Boateng to be honest. Think they'd look quite limited in the PL. Out of interest, who else is in your top 3 of PL cbs?
  9. Huge respect for Redmond for how he's stepped up this year. He has been a totally different player all season, taking people on, getting in behind, stronger with and without the ball. Our biggest attacking outlet right now.
  10. God it's refreshing what a tactically aware manager can bring to a side. Obviously there are still flaws and issues which need to be resolved by 'wheeling and dealing', but he's connecting this side back with the fans. A side which has been so disconnected from the fan base, he's joining it all back up again. I didn’t see that happening. He's a manager in the mould of Klopp/Pep/Poch, no doubts about it. It's the way he gives players confidence, makes them believe in themselves and seemingly gives them an extra 10% on the pitch. We've got something here, I can feel it.
  11. To be fair the main reason we got him at that price was because he had 6 months left on his QPR deal.
  12. Flatters to deceive, doesn't score goals and struggles to impact games in the main. We should be trying to replace our non-scorers, so this is a start.
  13. Get rid of both, bring in Marega from Porto.
  14. He speaks better English than Redknapp. F'sure.
  15. You make your own luck by putting in the effort/forcing the oppo into making mistakes....
  16. If we play with the same intensity and spirit as we did yesterday, and press as well as we did yesterday, then I honestly don't think Huddersfield will be able to handle us to be honest. Every game is different though and we still have players capable of brain farts, so who knows!
  17. I think it's a pretty clear dig, otherwise he could have just said ''Great win lads, really good performance!'' - but as a player, to mention tactics improving (after the previous manager was sacked), you are seemingly sharing a gripe there. But I think we can all see it, we had a plan yesterday and it was refreshing to see.
  18. Read the game well, some terrific interceptions and good passing from the back. I was surprised when he vanished from the line-up this season, as I thought he was really good for us during the back end of last season. He's a strong/powerful CB and I think works really well as a 3 on the right side.
  19. He has really stepped it up this year, but is still lacking that final product at key moments (the pass/the cross etc). Hopefully he can pick that up in his game, as he'll then move into a different level.
  20. This was like watching us from the Koeman/MP days, probably a little too early to read too much into it...but it was a seriously impressive showing tactically, I have to say. We used to press under Pelligrino, Puel and Hughes in a half-hearted manner, maybe 1 or 2 token efforts. However yesterday there was a plan, a cohesive team effort and a tactical understanding of when to press, in which areas to press and how many press at a time. When you play like that against anyone you worry teams, you fluster them, you force them into rash clearances and mistakes - which is what we did. This is exactly the sort of setup I think Hojbjerg will thrive in if I’m honest, he isn't massively quick, but he reads the game well and can snap in and set the tempo - I've always thought he's better on the front foot rather than defensively anyway. Romeu still looks rusty as hell, but I'm sure he'll get his sharpness back.... Bednerak was the best of the bunch at the back, although as a unit it was tons better, I have to say. It shows what a bit of coaching and tactical instruction can do, as the players seemed keen to implement the plan. I just feel over the last 3 years we've just been told to go out and 'pass the football' without much thought for anything else. Teams like ourselves have a better chance of doing well if we pressure teams and force them into errors. We still have huge deficiencies in the squad though and there is still work to do, but the path is seemingly looking like the correct path and the players are buying into what they are being told. I loved the new guys passion at the end, that will rub off on everyone.
  21. No loss!
  22. Basically social media speak, the amount of times the content is displayed on peoples news feeds etc.
  23. They've obvioulsy just seen how much he cost brighton. He'd be more aorund the £25m mark I'd have thought.
  24. We didn't play that badly either if I remember right, it was an unlucky defeat away at one of the 'toughest' sides in that league back then. I'm pretty sure McGoldrick scored our goal...might be wrong. But we actually had a decent start, I remember the away 1-0 at Derby where we played them off the park. We just were just too young and got sucked into a rut after a hard run of games.
  25. Can't really stand those guys either. Dragging us down with their averageness.
