  1. This is what I'm hoping, we've got a terrific coach here and it would be such a waste if he's not backed - again. I'm not sure where the backing is coming from though, we have an owner who doesn't give two hoots about us.
  2. Yeah, PEH's states are influenced by the fact he goes backwards more often than not. When he does keep the ball it's in a very passive and safe way. Slows the entire team down when he's in it. Even Romeu offers more incisive passing than he does.
  3. The worry for me is lack of goals. Long is a decent foil for Ings, that's why he was signed up - but he doesn't score goals, neither does Adams and Obafemi is raw. So....take Ings out of the side, and we have no real ability to win games. I hope the club realise this, as we'd be dicing with death.
  4. That would be ideal! Not sure we have the money for all that! I reckon we'll get one CB and RB though, and maybe an additional attacker later on in the window. Reed will be given the chance.
  5. Looks a decent player, good cover for Bertrand - seems more than capable. Just don't put the poor lad next to Vestergaard.
  6. Are they blind?
  7. The Bissouma shot from the penalty spot? He just fell asleep I think, he's got a lot of learning to do. He's certainly not good enough to step in and be a regular next year, but I think he has something about him.
  8. Harsh on Vokins, I thought he held himself really well and gave us genuine balance down the left. Looks to have a bit of pace about him and certainly didn't look out of place, it was just a shame he had Vesterturd next to him.
  9. He's being played in an interesting role, I'm not sure it's his position. He was the straight replacement for Armstrong in squad place and actual position. I think he's a central midfielder, not a wide player what so ever and I'm not sure he will ever adjust to that role. This is why we need a bit more competition in the area on the right, I don't think Armstrong is a winger either but he has a bit more about him. If we get KWP, he may relax our need for right sided wingers.
  10. I'd take a fag packet for him, just get him gone. Dreadful player.
  11. First half was one to forget, but if a game summed up PEH's home career at Southampton then that was it. He is the one constant of our utterly dreadful home form for 3 years, I cannot wait to get shot of him. Vestertard can toss off too - what an aberration of a football player. He can shoot, but his game is to defend and he cannot defend against anyone. Hopefully he's out of the door ASAP. Positives were KWP, really good impact when he came on - interesting use of him, coming in side - but he uses the ball so well, commits players and seems to make things happen. He has a low centre of gravity which means he can wiggle out of most challenges. I'm becoming sold, I'll be honest. Still wouldn't pay any more than 11m though. If anything, this game highlighted that both Adams and Obafemi are not able substitutes for Ings - we really, really need actual competition for Ings in the summer. If he gets injured then we are dead.
  12. Did Davis sleep with your wife or something?
  13. I couldn't give two shits about Bournemouth and their bucket rattling antics. They need to be brought down a peg or two and a lot of their new fans need to drift back to Chelsea or whoever they used to support. I want to win both, I've got no interest in Bournemouth and I couldn't give two hoots if they stay up, go down, go bust or drift into the sea. I just want us to win the games we play.
  14. The commentators keep going on about Liverpool dropping off as they've won the league, but they seem to forget that they'd dropped off in Feb....they just haven't really got back to where they were pre-Jan. Taking this into next season will be funny, can't see them retaining it with this lack of momentum.
  15. To be fair they looked pretty handy tonight, this will not be easy. I reckon our hardest game of the restart. Think we might struggle here.
  16. The whole 'transfer window closing before the first game' malarkey was shelved at the end of the last one anyway, it was meant to go back to a normal August 31st closure this year.
  17. Rumour is around the 12th Sept, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
  18. I'm a big fan, maybe he'll move more centrally? I just feel he lacks pace on the right and then there's a lot of reliance on KWP for e.g to provide the width, so our attacks are often lopsided. That's all I'd say, I wouldn't drop him though as he's been pretty spot on most of this season. This is what Ralph said today - "Stu is adapting more and more to this formation and has surprised us all with his finishing," said Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl. "He's adapted his game to our philosophy and this is very positive."
  19. So the 'Summer 2020' transfer thread will become the Summer/Autumn 2020 transfer thread. Confirmed the window will open between 27th July and the 5th October. With an additional week between 5th - 16th for just EFL transfers (loans etc)
  20. He really does seem so suited to Ralph's way, watched him tonight and he was epic. He's perfect for the press and the counter press, absolutely perfect. Sell PEH for £30m, give Reed a new contract and put that cash to use in other areas? Seems like that could be a good move going by how good he's been. Just question marks over his fitness, that's all.
  21. Awesome for Wigan, they're sticking two fingers up at the EFL and FA here. If they still get relegated and punished then the people making the decisions need to hang their heads in shame.
  22. Ross isn't involved in this one, so hopefully we're good. I always had nerves around Vestergaard because of his lack of pace, ditto Hoedt. Good on the ball, but poor players for this league. Danso just isn't at the right level at all. This guy looks a bit of a beast, more so than any of those previous 3.
  23. Where have you read this??
  24. I'm pretty positive about this one to be honest, looks like we have actually got him! He's got a VVD swagger about him, and the normal cliché 'he's young and hungry to improve'. This would be a good start to our business, adding pace and power at CB, attributes we currently lack back there and haven't had since VVD left.
