  1. There's no way he's gone now, it's too late. What's the point? Too late for any new manager to come in and impact us now, given that we'd probably spend 3 weeks fiddling around trying to find someone anyway. Without question we HAVE to win on Saturday, no draws, no last min equalisers...we need a win, anything else and it's getting close to game over.
  2. Because since then we have appointed two risk adverse managers who are more afraid of losing.
  3. It's so frustrating when you see that Newcastle, Huddersfield, West Ham, Swansea, Palace, Bournemouth have all managed a win against a 'big' team this year. We can't even do that. Sod the plucky draws against Utd away or Spurs/Arsenal at home, those should have been wins. Will we do Chelsea at home? No, because we'll be more worried about them and that will be the game done. Teams have beaten the 'big boys' this year by showing no fear and playing on the front foot. Where on earth has this conservative/fear of losing approach got us? Adrift in 18th place. Surely that answers the question in terms of the approach and if it's actually working. Someone wake this club the **** up.
  4. Game over. We'll be cut adrift by 3 points come this time next week imo. It's ok, we only have Chelsea at home next.
  5. Can't see too many takers for Redmond, but JWP will have suitors. We have to remember that we're not going to be raided by the top clubs, teams like Burnley and Watford will offer players like JWP a good avenue back to the PL.
  6. Only issue is that he doesn't know how to score goals.
  7. He's young, english and a decent ball playing CB. There will be a few takers I reckon. (not top clubs, but your Burnley's, Huddersfields etc)
  8. Because they want to be able to shout from the rooftops - if we stay up - about how loyal and well run we are, giving the manager the chance to save the squad. Given how absolutely unresponsive they've been so far this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see him carry on next year if we stay up - we'll act like he's achieved some sort of miracle.
  9. 'if' we go, I can see it playing out like this - Romeu, Lemina, Hoedt, Stephens, JWP, Cedric, Bertrand, Gabbiadini, Boufal, Tadic, Clasie all off in the summer. FF will go to someone as well, he's on too much money to be a NPC player. We'll have the likes of Gallagher, Sims, Targett, Reed back in the squad and they'll play most games. McCarthy Ryan Federicks (if Fulham stay down) Yoshida Bedranek Targett Sims Hojbjerg Davis Redmond Austin Carrillo Subs - Lewis, Gallagher, Reed, Valery, McQueen, Long, Jones So there's a basis of a decent team there, not anything ground breaking, but enough to be competitive without having to really reinvest other than a little bit of $$ on a RB and some CB depth. Sounds like a likely outcome.
  10. Good to see him getting a run, I think he's a decent keeper. Wouldn't want to see FF take the number 1 slot off of him now. I wonder when FF will get his new 5 year contract this year? I'm going for July.
  11. Big result for Brighton, gives them a huge cushion with their upcoming games. You can start to see the gap developing between the less dross (Bournemouth, Watford, Brighton, Burnley etc) and the absolute bilge (ourselves/Stoke). We continue to sleep walk to what is seemingly our goal, going by the lack of urgency at any level.
  12. They're playing Arsenal, they will win.
  13. 6. They're not losing this.
  14. They're away into the distance, not concerned with them now.
  15. He has only just become a father as well, absolutely tragic.
  16. Wow, what the hell. RIP.
  17. Home fans have just been sent to sleep permanently, after more than 18 months of complete and utter bilge.
  18. They should do a social media competition - win a chance to be the manager. I mean, surely that's how this guy got in the job? He's a fraud.
  19. Pretty hard for him to come into a new league and be expected to hit the ground running, but I wanted to see a bit more in the sense of winning headers, holding the ball up, bringing others into play. Our main issue continues to be our inability to get people close to our 'central' striker. That's why two up top is the way forward, we looked better with him and Gabbi - could be a decent partnership. It won't happen though.
  20. Rafa is too tactically shrewd for this to be anything other than a straight forward day for Newcastle. Our manager will not have any answers. Probably will be the first time we'll end up cut slightly adrift next week. Maybe then we'll stop aiming for Europe.

    Redmond

Yeah, this was better from Redmond. Not sure why he doesn't commit players more often, he can be a threat when he does that.
  22. Add this to the list of **** aways this season. Our attacking options are so, so, so woeful. A good manager would at least get a system in place though. It's alright though, we're still targetting Europe. Shambles. No more to be said.
  23. You can sense them already chomping at the bit, they've already laid their stool out.
