  1. Yeah, god forbid footballers actually have, you know, a life.
  2. Puel isn't proving anyone wrong, the sane ones among us have always been quite content.

Some of our football in the 2nd half was a joy to watch, can't remember us playing as quick and fluid last season. Some of our attacks reminded me of our MP days. Really exciting as it seems his methods are really hitting home now and things are clicking into place. We've been alright most of the season to be honest, should have beaten both Watford and Sunderland at home and were unlucky away at Arsenal. If you want to see a team who have had a bad start look no further than Stoke or WHU. We've been ticking along nicely really.
  4. Redmond has been excellent for us, he was terrific today as well.
  5. Nah, leave him out of that **** storm. Horrible setup.
  6. 1st half was poor, but we looked the most dangerous and composed when we passed the ball. 2nd half, we came to life. Excellent all over the pitch. Their confidence is fragile and we went for their throats in that 2nd half, something we've not always done in the past. It could - and probably should - have been more than 3-0, it's been the case most of the season - we create chances and openings, we just weren't clinical enough. We're a tidy team, Hoj is easily the best CM we've had since Morgan. Top level player for sure. Romeu is back on form and seems to play that role much better, he was booked in the 9th but was incredibly professional for the rest of that game - excellent display. VVD, as per usual, just looks like he coasts games. He really is destined for the top. Fonte and Cedric were excellent, but Bertrand was my stand out - he makes such a difference to us, I can't think of too many better left backs at this level to be honest. We did well to tie him down. The confidence is flowing right now and some of our football in the 2nd half was a joy to watch, really enjoyable away game. WHU look shell shocked at their new place, doesn't feel like their home at all. Soulless sums it up.
  7. Was thinking exactly the same. I see Sunderland fans are already calling for Moyes out. Are they really that dim? There isn't a manager in the world who could make a decent team out of that rabble, the players they have are incredibly poor and their transfer policy is diabolical. I also see Arsenal are doing the same. Playing well when under little pressure, pundits and fans alike falling for it, but they'll typically fall away come February as per every.single.flaming year once the actual pressure starts.

He was clearly appointed as part of the Koeman package though, along with Jan. New managers are often asked who they want to bring in as their backroom staff, the club wouldn't have appointed Ewin if Koeman wasn't lined up to be our manager.
  9. So that's another 3 or so weeks out for Jay.
  10. They have a couple of options. They could go with Byram at left back and Antonio at right back. Or what they seem to think is more likely, is to have Nordtveit (midfielder) at right back and Byram at left back - but whatever they put out, the players at full back will be out of their natural position.
  11. The issue is when you haven't played properly for over 2 years, your body kinda adjusts to not being put under all the strain of regular competitive football, so the re-introduction of full competitive action will very often come with the risk of frequent niggles and knocks. That will probably be the case for the rest of his career to be honest.
  12. We're getting a new OS, so this will be part of that - no more of this annoying football league generic player crap. but just use youtube, that has anything worth watching on.
  13. I'd second sportsmania. I have it setup on Kodi and it's faultless. Gone are the days of hunting around for streams when I can't get to a game, this just 'works' and problems in terms of buffering are non-existent.
  14. Mane was a great finisher, his conversion rate from wide positions was exceptional both in England and at Red Bull. He's good for 15 goals a season from wide positions.
  15. Too much is read into 'positions'. He plays in our attack, seemingly has the freedom to roam and run from the left, right and through the middle. He's instructed to get in the box when other's have the ball as the coaching staff/manager have obviously seen something there. It wasn't his day today finishing wise, but he is already a integral part to our attack and how it functions.
  16. October 5-13. and there's another in November FFS. November 9-17
  17. He was a month away at the start of the month, will prob see him in and around the team after the 2nd international break (yeah, another ****ing international break)
  18. I know Redmond will be hung for not scoring that sitter, but he had a good game - good movement off the ball, opening up space. I like him, but he needs to play as the support forward with someone like Austin bearing the brunt of the goal scoring.
  19. I thought we played really well today tbh, some great moves and some fantastic openings which should have been put away. I'd be more concerned if we weren't creating opportunities, but we are - should have been 3/4 at least today. I would like to see Austin used as our main focal striker, with Redmond/Jay/Long as the support forward, running the channels and doing the leg work. Romeu had a good game again, he's finally getting his form back after a slow start to the season. We kept swansea at bay most of the match and we dominated it through the middle. There wasn't much wrong with us today, it would have been damn right unlucky had we not won that - but we did, and we can start moving now.
  20. Don't think it was a foul, he pretty much threw it in his own net.
  21. Watching Manchester City play is like a tactical geek-fest.
  22. Pretty much. Who else is on the panel tonight? I haven't had a chance to see them.
  23. Prutton was on par.
  24. You get the impression that some games are just too easy for VVD, he has that 'style' about him. He was way too strong and powerful for the Sparta attack, he gobbled them up and spat them out again over and over again. Really imposing captains performance as well. I like him a lot, one of the best CB's we've ever had - and we've had a fair few good ones! He has all the attributes to be one of the greatest in Europe before long (although that won't be with us, I'm sure!)
  25. Came here with high expectations, probably too high to be honest - he was seen as our ''star'', but he never really lived up to it. Struggled to impose himself in games and flitted in and out. Good player though, just not worth the amount we forked out as it rose the expectations - which probably didn't help our financial position at the time!
