  1. He's using the squad well, he's gone beyond the first team and looked in the U23's and has even altered players positions and they've done well. I think we've got our strongest squad, since, well...ever. You can change midfield options around and we're not much weaker, you can change Tadic/Boufal/Redmond/Jay/Long/Austin around, and we're still threatening. We've got good options with Yoshida, VVD, Fonte at the back - I think Yoshida has done well in the EL games this year. We've got two excellent goalkeepers, and 5 capable full backs. No real question over the squad, it's now just a case of using it well and getting the most out of it - which Puel seems to be managing perfectly.
  2. Berahino? Just a thought. Reckon we're biding our time with this one as we did with Austin.
  3. Why would anyone do that?

  5. I think Mcqueen needs a rest to be honest, he was stretching out so much today, looked to have a bit of cramp. Maybe Targett will be ok for this one.

  7. Absolute player.

  9. What do they expect when they keep playing Fellani in midfield? He's dog ****e. He's frozen out players like Morgan and Bastian for no reason, and they are so much better than Fellani and Carrick. Still hard to say who is going to win the league to be honest. City still look a bit fragile, Utd are weird, Chelsea are a bit hit and miss, Arsenal are, well, Arsenal. Pains me to say it, but keep an eye on Liverpool and Spurs. They look the more organised sides up there this year.

  11. We're a very, very good premier league team to be honest. Results like this aren't a surprise, as we give everyone a game. Our organisation is excellent, the professionalism and work-rate of our players is exceptional - you don't get a team that gels in that sense that often. Some of the breaks we had in attacking senses were majestic, we play some excellent football this year and seem to find so much more space for the likes of Tadic and co to operate in. As I knew we would, we're improving Redmond and getting the most out of his undoubted potential. We'll do the same with Boufal as well, and there's obviously a hell of a lot to work with there. We're in a good place right now, we really do look at home as a top 8 team.

  13. It was just one of those nights, on any other day we'd have had a couple. Just let Gallagher learn/mature at that level, see where he is in a year or so.
  14. Hope he makes a full recovery.
  15. It seems to always be the case, we don't score.....let's bring back Pelle, put the kids in etc etc. Let Gallagher carry on what he's doing, we don't need him here right now and he doesn't need us - he is at the level right now which will allow him to grow and mature, let's let him do that. He wouldn't have made a slight difference to us yesterday.
  16. We played really well, no one can deny that to be honest. Incredibly unlucky. So, so, so unlucky. Millimeters away from scoring on a couple of occasions, on any other day we'd have had a couple. Can't fault our performance, we were on the front foot from the off and Inter were hanging on. I'd be concerned if we weren't creating chances, but we are. We will score goals, we're getting into the right positions and opening teams up in most games. Puel has got us playing a really good style of football. We're going to do damn well this year if we keep playing this way.
  17. The first goal of the night in the Championship comes at Ewood Park, and it's a cheeky one by Blackburn's Sam Gallagher. The forward races on to a ball over the top and cuts in from the right before slotting a lovely little left-footed effort under the keeper.
  18. What a shambles of a football match. Kind of glad it was that ****, given all the media build up crap about it. The 2nd half of England v Slovenia was more interesting.
  19. Not sure it's quite that, most of them are waiting for the club to fail, and have been since the god of all things NC left. Then they can cry as to how right they were, even though they weren't.
  20. Inter Milan fans feeling nervous about playing us and that we're going to drill them a new one. Have i woken up in a different universe or something?
  21. They moved it to tomorrow night, as it will be based from the Liverpool/Utd game.
  22. He's a better passer of the ball and is very very technical. I don't think he's quite as big a unit though, Wanyama used to just shrug players off like they weren't there.....and then give the ball away.
  23. Didn't Roma fans graffiti outside Osvaldo's pad or something? (Although to be fair, who can blame them)
  24. We started the game really, really well, and if it wasn't for a worldy from Heaton, we'd have been 1-0 up. It was always going to get more difficult if we didn't get the early goal, we slipped back a bit and Burnley gained a bit of confidence and kept their shape well. The forced sub of Targett didn't help and it unsettled us for a bit. We still created openings, but Burnley were holding their own well enough in that first half. We started the 2nd half as we started the first, but we got the break we needed. Typical Austin goal, and from that moment on the inevitable flood gates opened up. Redmond was causing them problems all match, looks so exciting when he's in full flow and his goal was well deserved. 3-0 put the icing on top, but we really should have got 4/5 maybe 6...just to add that cherry! Overall, once we got that first it was just a standard premier league win. Our midfield is running games at this level now, Romeu in particular is playing at a level I didn't think he was capable of. Burnley put in a good effort, they're a spirited side, but have quite an alarming lack of quality. There's only so far work-rate and spirit gets you in this league. Only slight chink is that we didn't get that clean sheet, but we're on a great run at the moment and go to Milan in a better place then them (who would have been saying that 5 years ago).
  25. Or can he reprise the form that had him watched by Europe’s leading lights in his early, bewitching, south coast days? They're not still banging on about that Villa game ™ as well are they?
