  1. Probably the latter. If we were losing, we'd have thrown him on I'd expect. But would have been a bit mental to leave ourselves that open. Would have been a gamble.
  2. Wouldn't say it was a lucky point at all. Lots of intensity from Huddersfield, lots of bluster, but very little quality in their point of view. Equally, not much quality from us, but we did somehow contrive to have the best two chances of the match. Once they tired and lost a bit of their bounce we managed to get to grips with our extra quality in midfield, but not enough quality from Redmond and Tadic when he was on. Certainly not lucky though.
  3. Yes.
  4. I did wonder if he would have been a good starter today, but having someone like him up your sleeve when a team like Huddersfield tire isn't a bad option and he took advantage of that once he came on. Right subs I think.
  5. 2nd half was better, It kinda went as I thought it would. Huddersfield tired, they weren't able to keep up their intensity. We got more of a grip on the game, but annoyingly didn't do enough. I thought we were much better with Long and that was a good sub. Huddersfield play a high line, he was stretching it after he came on and we were more of a threat. But 2nd half was better, 1st half was pants from us. A point in the third game away at a newly promoted side is a positive, but still plenty to work on and still plenty to improve with. Work in progress, but we've got ourselves some decent foundations.
  6. Don't think you can really use the ''this season'' line yet...! Only 2 games...
  7. Bertrand and Cedric have been the standout rubbish from the first half. Cedric looks really off the pace. Always struggling to see why teams like Barca want him. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but he's so far off that sort of level. Bertrand, god knows what's up with him. Attitude looks wrong, mind looks elsewhere. Shouldn't be playing. Yoshida has missed the ball a couple of times and allowed it to bounce, but he made an absolutely brilliant header which would have landed on their strikers head had it not been for that.
  8. It's been a hard watch, Huddersfield are pressing very, very hard and not giving us any time. Our close control has been horrific though, kudus to Tadic and Redmond for failing to bring the attack into play. The only thing you have to say - can Huddersfield maintain this intensity they're playing at for 90mins? They're lacking quality themselves, but they're making up with it by working their arse off. Lucky it's 0-0, let's hope we manage to regain some sort of control in the 2nd half and actually retain the ball.
  9. God knows what goes on at Arsenal. Oddly run club.
  10. 1-1 now. Should be a good game this....very open.
  11. Here is the forum - http://forum.ultimatemania.rocks/ you can login with your usual UM u/n and password. I'll copy and paste a bit of their update for the weekend if your sub has expired...
  12. I'd say I was surprised, but I'm not.
  13. They play an incredibly high line as well, so I'm also agreeing with this notion.
  14. I think the blonde fella is this guy - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christoph-klarer/profil/spieler/346849 CB we signed from Austria for the academy a couple of years back.
  15. They're probably all out on loan......
  16. You wouldn't see the (good or bad) results of that in such a short window in an academy structure, so no, that's not it.
  17. Academy output will fluctuate over years. At the moment Everton have a very impressive crop of young players on their way up, but there's still no guarantee any of those will make it at a higher level. From what I can tell, we've had to fill out the academy squads in the last couple of years with external purchases - which shows that the conveyor belt hasn't really been there for these year groups. This would probably coincide with the time we were in administration and this particular age group had very little input. The fact is that we have invested a lot into the academy and the structure around it, this will reap rewards over time - but you have to be patient, as it will be a fair few years until we see the benefit of this.
  18. Would expect to see him back in the 11 at the weekend to be honest.
  19. Yeah, ditto. In a positive note, Lemina looked pretty impressive in those short seconds!
  20. tbf they were both in the Wolves training vid too.
  21. There have been lots of worse games. I remember coming away from the Hapoel game despondent. Then you had Shef U in the quarters a few seasons back, Sunderland in the last 16. There have been plenty worse.
  22. Liverpool have the most favourable draw (After Utd) in the UCL you'd have to say. Liverpool, Sevilla, Maribor, Spartak Spurs group though, what the actual? Real Madrid, Dortmund, Tottenham, APOEL (poor APOEL)
  23. I must admit, I was starting to wonder where his new contract was. Good news, I think everyone loves Maya. Didn't realise he's made 150 odd app's for us! Watch the Liverpool fans clutch onto this as a reason they're getting VVD..

    Josh Sims

We never announce injuries, for some reason.
  25. He's exactly what I hoped Redmond would be for us. Gray is excellent, would cost a lot of $$ though.
