Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
S-Clarke replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
It was just one of those nights, on any other day we'd have had a couple. Just let Gallagher learn/mature at that level, see where he is in a year or so. -
Hope he makes a full recovery.

It seems to always be the case, we don't score.....let's bring back Pelle, put the kids in etc etc. Let Gallagher carry on what he's doing, we don't need him here right now and he doesn't need us - he is at the level right now which will allow him to grow and mature, let's let him do that. He wouldn't have made a slight difference to us yesterday. -
We played really well, no one can deny that to be honest. Incredibly unlucky. So, so, so unlucky. Millimeters away from scoring on a couple of occasions, on any other day we'd have had a couple. Can't fault our performance, we were on the front foot from the off and Inter were hanging on. I'd be concerned if we weren't creating chances, but we are. We will score goals, we're getting into the right positions and opening teams up in most games. Puel has got us playing a really good style of football. We're going to do damn well this year if we keep playing this way.

The first goal of the night in the Championship comes at Ewood Park, and it's a cheeky one by Blackburn's Sam Gallagher. The forward races on to a ball over the top and cuts in from the right before slotting a lovely little left-footed effort under the keeper. -
What a shambles of a football match. Kind of glad it was that ****, given all the media build up crap about it. The 2nd half of England v Slovenia was more interesting.

Not sure it's quite that, most of them are waiting for the club to fail, and have been since the god of all things NC left. Then they can cry as to how right they were, even though they weren't.

Inter Milan fans feeling nervous about playing us and that we're going to drill them a new one. Have i woken up in a different universe or something?

They moved it to tomorrow night, as it will be based from the Liverpool/Utd game.

Romeu is now an improvement on Wanyama
S-Clarke replied to Saint Without a Halo's topic in The Saints
He's a better passer of the ball and is very very technical. I don't think he's quite as big a unit though, Wanyama used to just shrug players off like they weren't there.....and then give the ball away. -
Didn't Roma fans graffiti outside Osvaldo's pad or something? (Although to be fair, who can blame them)

We started the game really, really well, and if it wasn't for a worldy from Heaton, we'd have been 1-0 up. It was always going to get more difficult if we didn't get the early goal, we slipped back a bit and Burnley gained a bit of confidence and kept their shape well. The forced sub of Targett didn't help and it unsettled us for a bit. We still created openings, but Burnley were holding their own well enough in that first half. We started the 2nd half as we started the first, but we got the break we needed. Typical Austin goal, and from that moment on the inevitable flood gates opened up. Redmond was causing them problems all match, looks so exciting when he's in full flow and his goal was well deserved. 3-0 put the icing on top, but we really should have got 4/5 maybe 6...just to add that cherry! Overall, once we got that first it was just a standard premier league win. Our midfield is running games at this level now, Romeu in particular is playing at a level I didn't think he was capable of. Burnley put in a good effort, they're a spirited side, but have quite an alarming lack of quality. There's only so far work-rate and spirit gets you in this league. Only slight chink is that we didn't get that clean sheet, but we're on a great run at the moment and go to Milan in a better place then them (who would have been saying that 5 years ago).

Or can he reprise the form that had him watched by Europe’s leading lights in his early, bewitching, south coast days? They're not still banging on about that Villa game as well are they?
-
Don't think he's on loan? I thought Cardiff spent about £2m to get him.
-
What are the many ways? The only real issues I've seen people point out are down to their own browser configurations. What information are you after which isn't accessible or no longer there?

verlaine1979 reminds me of toe_punt, so strong and dedicated in his thoughts on Mane (not good enough, non-league quality, worst player since ali dia). Funnily enough, he vanished as soon as Mane started playing, well, like Mane. Fingers crossed verlaine1979 can **** off soon as well.

Absolutely despise internationals for this exact reason. Just ditch them.
-
Donated. Serious respect for him.

I thought the same when I saw the thread title...! Maybe we had a 'Carl Cort' moment.
-
Both full backs are ''getting'' this new way of playing, and the input of those positions was always going to be pivotal to this setup working. If we can keep them both fit, we'll be great to watch.
-
He's not a striker as per the 'set in stone formation' - he's part of a 3 which rotate through the match, not sure why some people aren't able to see that. I think he's been great for us, if people are judging him on 'goals' because he's a 'striker' then they will be disapointed, but look at his entire game - he's doing exactly what he should as part of a 3.
-
No idea. Not got much of a problem with Martina though, we're well stocked at RB.
-
I'm oddly frustrated, as we really should have grabbed all 3 points today. We do control games very well this season, good in possession and we're a threat in the final third. It seems as if Romeu has had some 1 to 1 coaching or something, as he's gone up a couple of levels in the last few weeks. His positioning and then use of the ball has been superb, he's better than Wanyama in that respect as he doesn't just 'win' it. Hoijburg is unreal as well, closest player we've had to Morgan, since...errr..Morgan. Lots and lots to be positive about, just a damn shame we've got another poxy international break to get in the way.

Who are you on about?

Well the hammers have got to have something to cling onto. Their start to the season, both on and off the pitch, has been disastrous. More crowd trouble yesterday due to insufficient policing and stewarding. I also didn't realise, but apparently a good 100 or so fans didn't have seats during the first game at the stadium - they'd forgot to install the seats due to an admin error - what the actual....? Nice event stadium and all, but it's not a football ground. I think they've sold their soul and I know some of their own fans think the same.
