CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
S-Clarke replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
My opinion is that this is done. Terms are agreed with Celtic, the player and he's passed his medical. We're are just waiting for another week or so before it can happen. It seems there are seemingly no other active links with other clubs because they know it's done with us. -
Unfortunately the injury ruined his career. Good player before that.

Sometimes I wonder what fan's want, some seem so detached from reality that it's frightening. I'm not just talking about ourselves either. What's up with Everton fans protesting? I mean, what do they have to protest about? They had a poor year last year, but more often than not they're in the EL. But what more do they expect? Do they really expect to be a CL team? It just seems as if all sorts of fans expectations are all over the show right now. Everton, Stoke, Swansea and ourselves are in a battle of the best of the rest. Sometimes we'll win it, sometimes we'll miss out. Enjoy where we are as it won't always be this good, we're in a good place compared to many others. I might be called happy clappy or whatever, but it's about perspective really and understanding and accepting your teams standing in the world of football.

ART has been let on the PC again, I see.

I think we have been limited with the players we have available. (i.e lack of Ryan, Jordy). I'm sure our prefered lineup is Wanyama and Clasie/Romeu with the likes of Mane, Tadic, Long, Jay in a 3 behind Pelle. The full backs need more protection, In a way I kind of feel sorry for Cedric, although he hasn't covered himself in glory. What we missed in the first half were 2 sitting midfielders who would clean up in the full back positions, that's why we were hit so many times down the flanks.

CONFIRMED - Oriol Romeu joins on 3-Year Deal
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Seriously, what the **** is your problem? A blind man could have seen the difference he made. I don't understand why I need to justify it, when I have 31,000 people who can do that for me. Christ on a bike. Is this really even worth a debate? We were ****, end of. He looked good when he came on, but the game was already lost. End of story. -
Cool story.

I don't agree, I've seen posts talking about his selection - people are saying that he got the wrong team from the start. Anyone could have seen it. Pointless going OTT about it though, everyone learns lessons.

S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Ok, what am I looking at here? If you're so sure of your opinion then you wouldn't be prowling the internet to try and back it up. Facts: We were **** for the majority of today's game The introduction of Oriol provided the defense with more protection, the midfield shape was better We conceded less possession and opportunities in the 2nd half -

No, just because no one else in the entire world shares your opinion. -

You are completely and utterly wrong. -
That was pretty rubbish to be honest, not a single positive I can think of. I would agree that the starting 11 was wrong, the midfield was not able to take control of the game and it was cut through most of the first half. The introduction of Romeu in the 2nd half improved things, it gave us a bit of a shield and protected the full backs and CB's more, but the damage was already done. There's not really much more to say, 2nd game of the season, long way to go and we all know that we have a new CB coming in shortly - although a midfield of Victor and Romeu for most games seems a must, we were so overrun in there. Targett was out of his depth most of the game and Yoshida and Fonte could not handle the power of their attack, but I will say in the first half they got very little protection from those in front. Victor was also pretty pants.

Watched the entire Villa game and like yesterday, flawless, very little difference - if any - to watching it on sky. The quality is insanely good, no buffering, no skipping. Best football streaming service I've found.
-
Impressed with Morgan in those 2 games. He's not going to look spectacular, but it's no coincidence that they haven't let a goal in yet. He's a terrific shield. He can make decent CB's look a lot better than they are.

If we're playing games with Spurs then I'm happy.

http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/english-club-rivals-tottenham-for-clinton-njie/ I think there's been a slight mistranslation in that it is meant to be ''big bid''. not big club. (the original tweet doesn't suggest big club)
-
EL. The massive carrot of getting an automatic CL group place has raised the profile of this competition.
-
It's all originated from these tweets from a Lyon/french journo. ''"The starting N'Jie Clinton is not officially recorded . Proposal 1 other English club Crested complicates things "'' - Thibaut Geffrotin
-
ulas: 'N'Jie to #THFC is not a done deal. We have another offer from a bigger English club that has complciated things a bit' #COYS It originally came from this source, so don't necessarily agree with ''bigger club..''!. ''"The starting N'Jie Clinton is not officially recorded . Proposal 1 other English club Crested complicates things "'' - [h=1]Thibaut Geffrotin[/h]

And then he lost his legs..!
-
Not sure anyone is saying either are like for like replacements, I mean if there was a like for like replacement for Morgan out there, I imagine Utd would have already snapped him up. The best way we can evolve the Morgan position is use the money on a couple of players, different types - just to give us a bit more flexibility and depth. Romeu and Clasie are 2 different players, but will compliment each other well.
-
Yeah, that condition was pretty clear though I thought. And there are no guarantees that your seat will be sold, either.
