I'm not saying it does, but their opinion was clearly wrong from a year/18 months ago. I struggled at points 2 years ago to work out what the **** was happening, but it doesn't take a genius to someones take a breather, realise you were wrong and go again. There are some people on this forum who cannot do this.
-
Saint Armstrongs post was great, and that's all that needs to be said.
-
The usual suspects coming out I see, trying desperately to still validate their opinions from 2 years ago. Bit weird, but I guess some people cannot accept they were wrong and move on with their lives.
-
Just mention '3rd' to them, that'll shut them up for a bit.
-
But they've taken us further 2 years running.
-
There's having an opinion and then there's trying to shove your own agenda down other peoples throats.
-
Yeah, apparently. Still think it'll be De Boer for us.
-
Loads of assumptions going on here, made by people who have been waiting for approximately 12 months to stick the boot in. Give them their 6 weeks or so, then they'll vanish until next summer.
-
Lol if we get Emery that would make a few Everton fans sick. Think he's kinda out of our reach though, maybe?
-
Is this the meltdown thread for this summer?
-
Seriously Crabs, don't start all this waffle again. Before we know it, you'll be claiming our GK is L1 standard. Oh.
-
Nah, he went for Ausburg i think. Did a good job there.
-
De Boer probably very likely.
-
Murat Yakin? Wasn't he strongly linked when we got Koeman?
-
A truly horrendous article.
-
We don't know what we offered him, the end of the day if it's about money then us increasing it to still be less than Everton's won't make a jot of difference.
-
3rd highest I think? I'm sure i read that somewhere. See, Koeman has done a great job for us. I'd love him to stay, absoloutley love him to stay - but paying him that sort of wage is obscene and it's overpaying, I'm glad we don't do that. If anything, doing that would show us to be weaker.
-
Nah, it's clearly happening/happened. Just want it done so we can get on with sorting our setup.
-
Oh no, it's over! Everything has crashed down in front of us today.
-
Yeah, it scream of PR spin - club couldn't do any more, we look great etc etc. But.....what are we supposed to do? are we bending over, or are we being sensible by deciding not to overpay on a manager who isn't 100% committed long term? I think if that's the case and his head was seemingly turned by a club lower down in the league due to $$$, it kinda says something about him more than it does about us - in my opinion.
-
Sounds like a club PR Plant - nothing we could have done etc etc. Anyway, let's just get this done so we can get on with the next one.
-
It will be a shame if it happens, but i think we've proven over the last 2 years that we can respond to set backs, we've got a structure in place that will enable us to go again whatever happens. If it happens, it happens. Bring on the new manager and a fantastic opportunity in Europe next year. Toby wasn't our player, cannot include him in any exodus. Of course morgan and Clyne were losses, but it wasn't of the level as the year before - hence that year being a 1 off really.
-
If they're not good enough, then there's not much point in embracing them. We've been there before.
-
1 season. Don't bring it over two seasons. We lost 2 players last year, that was it. 1 freak pre-season, don't make it into more than it was.

The only clubs you could honestly say who could keep their best players, are Barca and Real. Even Bayern's best player, Lewendowski, wants to talk to Real Madrid. Ronaldo wanted to talk to real madrid. Bale did. Suarez wanted to talk to Barca the list is endless, no one is immune really.
