I think Austin is being given a lot of unfair stick on here, he's never really had an opportunity to mount a challenge here and peoples expectations of him are a little skewed. I think he's our most natural centre forward, we're all crying out for a 'proven 15-20 goal' striker...well, he's the closest we have to that!

Morgan has been a long time target of Spurs, but it will be pretty depressing to see Toby with Victor and Morgan in front.

Looking at it from a club/coaching point of view - we have 3 players up front who all lack real height and power, We don't have a 'leading the line' centre forward and maybe the club felt that they need one, just to give the manager an alternative option. If the interest in Haller is true, then we'll have to ship one of our current front players out on loan to make way - Jay would make the most sense, he needs to play regular football and if he gets that elsewhere and rebuilds his career than it's a win-win. He's too good to be sat around on the bench playing rotation with 3 other players in my opinion. Will be interesting to see what happens and whilst I'll be disappointed to see him leave, as I've always been a huge fan of his, I could understand it from the clubs point of view.

What's Jay done now?

From what I could work out from his interview and Les's few comments, he's actually back from his injury - it sounds like just needs to play a bit of catch up re: pre-season. I reckon we'll prob see him at the back end of next month.

Apart from the year he scored 18 goals in the Premier League.

Not sure why we'd want another CB or LB. Haller seems very likley from previous links and the price quoted. Looks like a straight replacement for Pelle? I wonder if this will open the exit door for Jay...? (as it would be hard to give Long, Haller, Jay and Austin all the game time they want)

Remy has been pretty injury prone these last couple of years though, hopefully he gets a run of games there. He's a good player.

Well he's been made available for loan and will defintley leave before the end of play tomorrow, I haven't seen our name against any reports though. I reckon he'll turn up abroad somewhere. Arsenal should have taken the £35m bid from City a couple of seasons back!

We were never going to be held to ransom by someone. I was one of those against him seeing out his contract, all we'd have had every week would be stories linking him to new clubs next year, journo's asking the same question week after week.....so it was either take our offer, or go.
