I think you're reading too much into it, to be honest. We did a thoroughly professional and efficient job over 2 legs. We played away from home in Europe, at a decent standard, and won 2-0 - after over a decade of being out of it. I thought it showed another side of our game, whereby we can slip a few gears and still get the job done. We didn't need to play at full tilt in these games, and that shows how good a squad we have these days. If we'd lost, fair enough, but there's no need to start waving the stick at certain players for what was a job well done. Onto the next one.

Utter moronic management. What is the point of fielding a weakened team at this stage, when they are at Arsenal, which they are unlikely to win anyway? I'd be furious if i was a WHU fan, this is worse than those week teams MP put out. The media will try and spin it as it being good for West Ham, but this isn't shaping up to be a pretty season for them - in my opinion.

Efficient and professional. No need for fireworks at this stage, and seemingly we are good enough to get these sorts of results in Europe - away from home. Very impressive, really. Martina looks solid, although rarely tested. Stek looks a safe pair of hands, and Mane will just be a barrel of fun this year. On a final note, welcome back Jay Rodriguez. Great moment for him.

Random Ex- Academy Player Transfer News no-one will care about...
S-Clarke replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “Oscar’s another good addition for us – and another player with good Championship experience. That's stretching it a bit, isn't it? -
Nope, they're just being very careful with him.

Ouch, 2 new CB's it is...!

Given that he didn't really play for us, I don't think we need a replacement.
-
How the hell does he still get a chance to play in the CL, it's crazy. He doesn't deserve these clubs.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
S-Clarke replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
So basically, £7m isn't enough, offer a bit more and after we've sorted this game then he is yours. -
Well, yeah. It's still funny watching them get worked up though. MP has no room for error this year.

Turgid, predictable, slow, with the creative three doing feck all, the onus is all on our fullbacks who try too much and get caught up field, exactly the same as last season, if Poch don't try something different he is gone by xmas, I thought all our youngsters were creditable.

For some reason unknown to anyone, Spurs are playing 2 friendlies this week before they play at 12:45 on Saturday. Their first friendly was a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid. They seem a little upset on their forums. I came across this post, and then thought it sounded so similar to our days under MP. ''Giving the ball away again, **** goalkeeping, nice strike. Lots of passing, no penetration or threat. We need more threat up front, poor Kane isolated far too much at times.'' ''Giving the ball away again, **** goalkeeping, nice strike. Lots of passing, no penetration or threat. We need more threat up front, poor Lambo isolated far too much at times.''

Watford are the ones you need to ask that question of. I believe they've signed 12 or 13 new players. All foreigners from all over the world. Mixed reputations and an almighty gamble.

Academy coaching in the new Staplewood training dome

They'll go back to their grass roots sides and be told to ''GET IT AWAY, HIT IT LONG, DON'T **** AROUND WITH IT'' -
Yeah, in our L1 days. And he was a right annoying idiot - but all clubs have them! Cheers for the pic by the way ullowl

I think Shaw is in the background, he didn't turn out too badly. No idea what happend to McNish tbh. Reeves is a pretty handy player for MK though.

A year or so ago this guy was up there with Draxler and Gotze in terms of german reputation. He was wanted by everyone when he was at Bochum (i think). Tipped to be the next Bastian by many, but is seemingly prone to muscle injuries. He only played 10 games (3starts) last year. If we feel we can get him at a 'cut price' fee because of this, and we believe our fitness/sports science will get to the bottom of last years issues, then it's a true no brainer.

I don't know about you, but I'm dreading pre-season 18/19.

I don't mind it. Personally, why are we moaning about this? Surely we should be having a good old moan about next years pre-season and the one after that? That's where the hot topic lies right now.
