#SaintsAtWembley: Five years on from the JPT win
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
That MK Dons game was one of the best home games I've ever been to. -
Strootman out for £40m+ , and Morgan in for £25-30m? Seems like a decent like for like.
-
Possibly that, combined with Distin, Jagielka and Baines being a year older. Distin in particular has struggled this year, so has Baines with injuries. But you're right, his teams are always a ''we score more than you'' approach.
-
I think Rob Green is a very good GK, certainly more than short-term. I just hope the club don't think short-term, they just need to buy a brand new, top class number 1 goalkeeper, with them aim of him being our new long-term number 1 keeper. We can worry about the competition and the fighting for places once Forster returns, and we don't even know what state he could return in.
-
I think he'll stay in the PL, Arsenal is his destination I reckon. He's this summers ''big signing'' for the gunners.
-
To be honest, we were lucky to have him for another season. He's such a wonderful player, he always has been for us - a little bit lightweight for the first few years, but clearly full of ability. He deserves his dream of playing at the top level, competing for the biggest honours. Obviously if we finish in the Top 4, it may make him have a little think, but my opinion is that his mind is pretty much made up. And if we don't get the top 4, there's not even anything to conciser for him. He's been a terrific servant and I'm just going to enjoy watching him for the next 8 games. Class act.
-
I'll probably watch the Portgual v Serbia game, Tadic, Djuricic, Fonte all possibly involved.
-
I think he was only referring to this season, which is all we can do really. But next season is a different ball game and I'm sure the club aren't silly enough to go along with those 3 in the hope that Fraser may return. And i'm pretty sure Koeman wouldn't be keen on that either. No disrespect to the other 3, esp. Davis who is a great pro, but none of them are really good enough for 2nd fiddle in the PL (davis at a push), let alone first choice.

This is a bit of a disaster to say the least. I'd say this will be on par/similar to the Jay injury, I wouldn't expect to see him next season what so ever. So, we need a new GK. No doubts about that what so ever, as a club we kind of need to look at it that we don't have a GK, and get the best we can get. I don't think we need to look at this as a stop gap, we need a new No.1 keeper, full stop. What worries me is the fear we may stop-gap, like we did with Killer and Oakley. I honestly think the club have to be ruthless here and just go out there and spend $$$ on a brand new number 1, Fraser will have to fight his way back if he returns.

Saints agree personal terms with Tonny Vilhena - Unofficial

Seeing as Pelle is our top goal scorer, Tadic is our highest assister, and Forster has 14 clean sheets to his name.......I'd say they've been pretty pivotal to where we are. Stop wumming. -
Everton are a funny side. They clearly do have some quality and should be doing better than they are, but there are a few positions (notably CB and GK) that are ready for an upgrade. I think, now that they've got a decent gap between them and the bottom 3, the pressure will drop on them a little. That should allow them to play with a bit more freedom as a team and the worry is that we will see the best of Everton over the coming weeks. I think we can win, but I think we can easily lose as well. If I was handed a draw, I'd take it.

You're right in that the club had been trying to 'Evolve' the lambert position for a couple of seasons, but he was still a good player for us. Liverpool and Rogers just haven't used him right, as even in the few games he's had, it's been hoofed up to him like he's some sort of hit and hope target man, but his game is so much more than that. I reckon he'll pop up at Palace next year, and play up top with Zaha and Bolaise either side - that could be epic for Palace fans.
-
I used to love Gerrard, excellent player in his pomp. But now, he's just a liability. He probably should have left last summer, as it's no surprise that their results picked up in his absence in my opinion. Lallana, well, he's not getting nice comments today. He's had a pretty underwhelming season all being told, but compared to our other 2 ex lads - he's been amazing. Lovren I couldn't give 2 hoots about, but one word comes to mind - karma. However, I can't help but feel a little sad seeing Rickie sat on the bench, week after week, just as a fan. He'll leave in the summer I'm sure and I hope he gets himself a good club, he has been horrifically treated by the idiot that is Rogers in my opinion.
-
If we can get ourselves on an epic end of season run, which is possible as our fixtures aren't too bad, then we could place ourselves in an amazing situation. I don't believe Top 4 will happen, but I think we'll keep the dream alive for longer than most imagine. The spurs game is massive. I think the winner of that takes 6th, and possibly keeps themselves into contention for the top 4.

The silence on Forster is deafening.
-
He's got every right to be annoyed, having Danny Rose called up instead of him is simply ludicrous. The fact he wasn't in the original squad was stupid on it's own. It probably won't help him if he starts moaning via social media though, but who cares - he's better off out of that horror show.
-
Continuously being a bit of a moron, I think. He's had a good innings to be fair.
-
Man Utd are absolutely ripping them to pieces. They look amateurs. 1-0 Utd
-
I think away from home, it's good to be able to stretch sides. Mane through the middle I think is his best role, he can play the flank roles, but through the middle he can be electric. He can then pull players around, which opens space down the sides. Pace is key here, so I can see us dropping Tadic and going for Elia as well.
-
Henry was an amazing player, but by christ he is dull as ****. I fall asleep listening to him drone on. Just imagine a PL game with Owen as commentator and Henry as co-commentator. I think the nation would fall asleep.
-
Pelle didn't do himself any favours y/day, that's for sure. Wouldn't expect to see him at Everton.
-
The Liverpool and Rogers love in is the most nauseating thing I've ever had to sit through. Sky just lap it up. They seem to forget to mention the way he pretty much destroyed them at the start.
