  1. Continuously being a bit of a moron, I think. He's had a good innings to be fair.
  2. Man Utd are absolutely ripping them to pieces. They look amateurs. 1-0 Utd
  3. I think away from home, it's good to be able to stretch sides. Mane through the middle I think is his best role, he can play the flank roles, but through the middle he can be electric. He can then pull players around, which opens space down the sides. Pace is key here, so I can see us dropping Tadic and going for Elia as well.
  4. Henry was an amazing player, but by christ he is dull as ****. I fall asleep listening to him drone on. Just imagine a PL game with Owen as commentator and Henry as co-commentator. I think the nation would fall asleep.
  5. Pelle didn't do himself any favours y/day, that's for sure. Wouldn't expect to see him at Everton.
  6. The Liverpool and Rogers love in is the most nauseating thing I've ever had to sit through. Sky just lap it up. They seem to forget to mention the way he pretty much destroyed them at the start.
  7. It was alright, I just feel a bit down with the Fraser injury. It ain't good, we're looking at probably a year + I reckon. So, new keeper shopping list for the summer. 1st half was a bit rubbish, I think the entire team were rocked a bit by the severity of Frasers injury - but the 2nd half was better, we kept our nerve and dug it out - which is what you have to do against those sides. Kelv did well, but as we all know he is a terrific shot stopper. Will be interesting to see how he gets on for the rest of the season, not the ideal situation by any means, but I'd be gob smacked if we finish below 7th now (11 pt gap if you count the GD, 8 games to go). And if all goes to plan, 7th should get EL.
  8. Danny rose, are you kidding me? Even Spurs fans know he's horrific. Bertrand must have done something to upset the setup. But Shaw, seriously, injury-prone for good by the looks of it.
  9. More cringeworthy utter bull****. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3004908/Brendan-Rodgers-placed-trust-unfamiliar-3-4-3-formation-watching-Basle-beat-Liverpool-side.html Has he worked out yet why he ****ed their season up at the start? Doubt it. So to cut a long story short, he stumbled upon a formation by accident by copying the approach of a team who beat him. Genius I tell you. Genius.
  10. Yes, this is what I thought. As I only really remember him coming off the bench in most cases this season.
  11. Does that mean he posts on here?
  12. We will lose players in the summer, however it won't be like last year. For a start we have a stable management set-up, coaching set-up, and we're able to plan for next season. MP just strung us along for months and screwed up a lot of our plans I bet. But although it'll be sad at some points in the summer, I think we'll be excited by the replacements we manage to get. Come October next year, I'm sure we'll be missing the players we lose, but not in the way some expect.
  13. CB is pretty weak. Jones was supposed to be the main man, the leader for the next generation - but he's just not kicked on at all, the best thing he's known for are the faces he pulls! Stones is a terrific ball playing centre back, fan of him - but he's still a little raw around the edges. I think he'll be first choice in the coming years. But when you look down through the squads and the U21, it's a bit bare. English football in general is lacking up and coming 'international stars' I feel. Gerrard and Lampard were moaned about, but there's no one of their level coming through. Rooney is a bit of an idiot, but he's the only star in that side I can see. Maybe Sterling can become a top level. The rest are a bit bog standard. The days of Campbell, Rio, Neville, Cole, Beckham, Gerrard, Owen, Rooney seem a long time ago....players that could have, and did, play for some of the biggest European sides all over the world. That team should have done much more.
  14. I just don't feel that Shaw or Baines have played enough club football this season, they've been in and out. I think Baines has only just come back? I like Shaw a lot, but he's not done enough to be in this squad I don't believe. For me, there hasn't been a better English left back this season, on that basis I think it'll freshen it up with Bertrand. I'm all with the continuity side of it, but when it's all a bit underwhelming it's nice to freshen it up from time to time. I mean, Townsend, what is that all about?
  15. Foster is injured for a few months I think.
  16. No, this isn't a problem. The problem is picking players like Barkley, Carrick, Smalling, who have been trash this season. Well, maybe Carrick hasn't been trash - but he hasn't played enough for me.
  17. The Ryan Bertrand situation, whilst good for us that he doesn't mix with that lot, is so frustrating generally for decent enlgish players. He's been the stand out english left back in the league this season. Fiar enough LB is pretty strong for us, but in a situation where Shaw has been injured, Baines has been injured and Gibbs has been reserve...it was a perfect time for him. But whatever, keep going with the same old tried and tested dross.
  18. Oh, but come on. Liverpool are revolutionary, they are re-designing English football as we see it. They've got a huge goal to reach in the top 4, so I'm sure an arrangement will have to be made. etc.
  19. Luke Shaw - underwhelming season, sick note. Good player obviously, but hasn't done much. Baines - injured, has only just come back.... Gibbs - reserve at Arsenal. Bertrand - best most consistent left back in the league. Not really hard is it for most managers?
  20. I'd say that Davis has been one of our most consistent performers since returning to the PL. I've never seen him have an abysmal or horrific game, he's always steady to exceptional. Needs to have a bit more of a goal threat, but every manager seems to love him as he's such a perfect versatile, agile and clever midfield player.
  21. So if people don't want us in Europe, and they don't want to see us struggling every season, what do they want? Just bog standard 10th/1th finishes in the PL? If you stagnate like that then you'll end up with Villa, Sunderland and co in the wrong half. Realistically the Europa league is made for a club of our size. It's a realistic chance for progression as a club, it's an opportunity to grow - albeit small. I don't see really what's wrong with it, as long as we baulk the squad up to accommodate it. The away days in Europe will be great, my only experience is steaua all those years ago, and I'd love that again.
  22. I fancy 15/16 points from the next 27 to get us a top 6 (inc. beating spurs). 20/21 points would take us into the 70+ region and that would probably get you a top 4 spot I'd think. but 15/16 points is the target for me. Finish around 65/66 points, beat spurs at home and 6th is pretty much done. That would be an epic season.
  23. At 22 you'd have hoped he'd have made more of an impact by now. Reed, JWP, Targett are all younger and they've all made more of a first team impact. Maybe they just feel he's still got a bit of developing to do as he's a bit of a slow starter, it seems as if we're giving him as big as chance as possible. Not quite sure I see it happening for him though. Similar to Reeves, he just seems a tad too old to make it here now.
  24. Here comes the love'in. I also read on RAWK the other day, which made me cringe a bit. They wanted us to beat Chelsea so bad, as they feel they can still win the league this year. What are they on there? Why do they live in this different dimension to anyone else? Fair enough they've been on good form, but so have a lot of clubs and their managers haven't been declared gods. I think Rogers needs to take a lot of blame for the start, he simply didn't know what to do with it all. He's somehow stumbled upon a formation though, not sure how that makes him a genius, as I'm pretty sure he didn't sign Emre Can (midfielder) to play as a CB or a RB, or Markovic to play as a left wing back. He's stumbled upon a formula and it works for now. That doesn't make him a genius, it makes him a bit of a botcher from an initial bad summer.
  25. I can remember him being very highly rated during his Ajax days, but kind of fell off the radar a bit. I imagine Koeman had come in contact with him at some point during his time at Ajax when he was a young player, so could well be an option we're looking at. I can see the newspapers already starting up this story.
