I think we'll see an arsenal team with the likes of Joel Campbell, Podolski, Gnabry, Monreal, Ospina, Coquelin, Diaby (if fit) and the likes. Not a bad team, but certainly a team our 'first 11' could cause problems for.
I'm sure Yoshida has played right back on a couple of occasions for us, during which he was absolutely bloody dog ****e. I think our best bet is to sign a right back who can also cover CB.
I too have wondered if it's a case of LVG not fancying him, I think Shaw was a transfer lined up by the club - rather than the manager himself, but I'm sure he was consulted. But it seems odd the way that he seems to be pursuing £19m left back Daley Blind....if that happens, then I'm not really sure what the future holds for Luke in the short-term.
I'm sure we'll see the international federations grant 'special' dispensation/leave for a few players on Monday, and there will be a few late arrivals in the squads. And it's only a friendly window, so I'm not sure the international federations will have a great deal of power in stopping multi million pound deals going through.
No idea what Brek Shea is all about, probably just agent waffle. If it did happen, then we're clearly a club with no real idea what we're doing! So much for world-wide scouts...
There's no way he will leave, as if he did, the club would have made one of the worlds great former players look an absolute prize prat. I cannot see someone as staunch and direct as Koeman taking too kindly to being made to look like a fool...
That's why it cannot happen now. The repercussions are much more than us just losing a player.
It is a strange one, maybe the club just don't fancy him? It's hard to say he has to prove himself, as he's proven himself for 2 seasons in the PL!
And the club offered Fonte and Reed new contracts without allowing them to 'prove' themselves to the new manager. I reckon this will be a classic contract wind down job and will end up with us being forced to cash in during January for £2m or something - the club will still see it as making a profit on him though.
Monday has the potential to be one of the most manic deadline days for a long time. Utd still have a bucket load of stuff to do, both in and out.
And hopefully, we'll have a bit of interest on deadline day for a change.
At least Brek Shea could add some ammunition to our attack.

(sorry)
We are hearing that Manchester United have agreed a deal with Aston Villa for Tom Cleverley. A fee of £8million has been mooted for the England international.
Wow, they actually are doing it.
