Using sabermetrics to assess performance in transfer window

I thought we were run like a bed and breakfast? -
Rooney always has a mare, his ship sailed about 3 years ago. They should have grabbed the £30m Chelsea were willing to fluff on him. Surprised Young has been kept on. One of Utds worst ever players?
-
Worst utd team I've ever seen. I'd be disappointed if we didn't beat them by a few on this showing. Cannot believe Felleni cost 28m. He's barley worth £10m. A quick glance on their forums show the Utd fans beginning to revolt.

Man Utd are being destroyed.
-
Mine is actually working today, after it didn't work yesterday. Go figure. but this has to be the worst ever Man Utd team I've seen. What the hell has David Moyes done to them? I've never seen them this bad, ever. I fancy our chances against them.

Bruno Alves and Pepe are their first choice CB's. Backup is currently Luis Neto and Ricardo Costa of Valencia (we were actually linked with him in the summer) Nelson and Henrique are also probably ahead of him.
-
We should, but we can't as we're no where near his level. About 20 or so clubs will be in the queue before us.
-
His play from deep wasn't as good as usual, some of his passing and decision making was poor. Safe to say he's on a turgid run of form at the moment. Weird that it coincidences with international recognition. Shows how sparse we are in the striker department to be honest. I have been very, very impressed with Lallana this season. He probably should have put away that chance yesterday, but he's involved all the time and is making a real name for himself this year. Looks a real threat again.

I can see why people may be a little frustrated with him, he's final pass or final decision wasn't always great - but it was his movement and his touches on the break which impressed me the most, some of his touches opened Liverpool right up. He's getting himself in the right area's, and was it not for 2 great saves in the last 2 weeks he'd be sat on 2 goals for us.

I think Davis has been once of MP's best players, ever since he joined. He's perfect for the style he likes to employ, and if you look back - Davis was a key part in our wins against Chelsea and City at home last year.

Osvaldo was not a disaster at all.

Seeing as these threads are the theme at the mo, how about one for Fonte? He's been with us all the way and was often declared as not being up to this level. Well, for me, he now looks like a completley astute premiership centre back. It helps when you have someone of the class of Lovren next to you, but Fonte looks at home in the PL now and that's another great story to our ever-growing list in recent years!

2nd place in the MOTM stakes. Great to have him back, not many wide players will beat him. So quick, but also very determined in his play.
-
He's our ''modern day'' killer. Has all the potential to have as big an impact on us as Killer did, maybe even more so.

What a result that was, a perfect away performance. The 2nd half was more promising against West Ham, and I felt we carried that into this game. We moved the ball around with more zip in the final third, although it didn't always come off, we weren't as pedestrian as we have been and we caused Liverpool's back 4 all sorts of problems. We also saw a return to that ''high'' pressing game, which MP has been so famed for. It was a great tactic to use in a game like this as Liverpool were disjointed, they didn't have a natrual back 4 so if we put them under pressure we were always going to force errors, which we did. I felt we kept Liverpool at an arms length most of the game, the biggest openings they had (other than the free kick) were probably the 2 breakaways in the opening 5 mins, other than that we were really, really comfortable and weren't really affected by their movement or pace. I thought Clyne was unplayable at right back, he will play for England sooner rather than later. But for me, MOTM has to go to Lovren. I think he has the potential to have as big an impact on us as of Killer back in 2004. He's big, powerful, quick, a likable character and a leader on the pitch - all the attributes you want in a CB. For whatever reason it didn't work at Lyon, but I truly believe we have one of Europe's best centre backs at our disposal now and you can see the upgrade on the entire back 4. Just his presence has turned us into this amazing defensive unit. An astute buy if there ever was one. Also a note for Osvaldo, who I thought played his role brilliantly. Some of his touches are genius and once everyone starts to read those regularly, he will get some amazing assists. I think he oozes class on the ball A nice leap up the table as well and we're looking upwards with 2 decent home games coming up - let's see if we can build on this and turn this into one of our best ever starts to the season.
-
Well, that won't happen to be fair! One thing you can guarantee is we'll play central and try to play through them.

Think they've cottoned on, got some duff back where they refused to unlock me. Unfortunately, access to the website http://www.aljazeerasport.tv is restricted in some countries; the premium service is only available in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) due to broadcast rights. However, you can still watch Al Jazeera Sport Global and Al Jazeera Sport News in case you are located outside the above-mentioned geographical region.

Yeah, this ship has pretty much sailed to be honest. We keep finding little glimmers out there with other services, but it's not going to last for long. Would recommend everyone cancelled their overplay and Aljezera subs, they will stop any of these DNS spoofing sites working eventually, and I can't be arsed to pay what I'm paying to have such an utter ball ache every Saturday. Will just go back to free stream hunting.
-
Great, I'm getting the infamous ''Your login attemps have exceeded'' message, even though they haven't. What website in their right mind creates an '' account lock-out'' system, that requires us to contact them to unlock it? Utter stupid idea. It doesn't seem to take into account a browser crash, or an internet connection drop. If the user log in 3 times within 3mins, you lock out. Whoever thought up that idea is an utter genius....not. I'm stuffed for today then!
-
I just got that, refreshed the stream and it now works ok again. Just a stream glitch I think.
-
Yep, this ship has sailed. Did work again via overplay for me earlier this week, but has now gone again. Hola simply won't work for me, so they're in the process of blocking it all by the looks of it. This was great whilst it lasted.

What gives me slight encouragement is how toothless Liverpool actually looked without Coutinho on Monday in the 2nd half. He's a vital cog in their side now, they looked very static without him and the front players got less service. It'll still be a very tough game though, one of our hardest of the season. Anything is a bonus.

Looks like a nasty shoulder injury for Couthino. He's gone off.

This is a proper premier league game. Beats the dross offered by the rest of the weekend
