Does the Reading game bring closure to the Adkins era?

Stoke being taken apart by Villa at present. Almost 2-0

Thought he was alright to be honest. Won everything and made a good connection to everything.

What game did you watch? What 3 chances did they have in 30mins??? I can remember 1 which was flown over by Le Fondre. Other than that they were pathetic. It was a doddle of an away game where we didn't even have to play that well.
-
2nd half was a doddle. Not the cleneast of performances, but as the opposition were so horrific it didn't really matter. How we allowed them to win the NPC is beyond me, they shouldn't even be at this level. Completley out of their depth. We, on the other hand, look completely at home now. Some of our play was excellent and our attacking movement is unmanageable at times If QPR win and Stoke win today, we're safe. In fact we're probably ok now. At least we won't have a nervy last few weeks for a change!

Like for like.

Little bit over the top there. I just find his away displays invisible and frustrating at times, although he has been involved in some good stuff today, he's also had some rickets. He's much more effective at home in front of his own fans when we're on the front foot for the majority. I wouldn't sell him, but I don't think he's an away day player as yet. Doesn't seem to have the mindset for it. Reminds me slightly of Robiniho when he was at City, unplayable at home invisible away but obvious talent.
-
Nah, it won't. Once he moves to Liverpool he'll be in the squad every week though
-
I don't think I've ever seen him put in any sort of decent performance away from home. Let's not kid ourselves that his display is just an occasional thing. It's every, single away game. Still, we've come into the game slowly and Rodriguez is frightening the life out of them. You can see the confidence bursting out of the kid at the moment.
-
Not sure. Can quite easily see Gaston on the bench again, as we all know his away performances haven't been ideal - and that team has worked pretty well together. Davis was excellent against Chelsea.
-
It was more of an unbeaten run I think. Espanyol were in relegation trouble most of the season, but at the end they finished comfortably in 10th, he took them well clear of it when most expected them to go down at some stages. He then took them on the following season, but financial purse strings forced him to sell the majority of his big name players and replace them with players from the acedmy. It's then when they started to struggle again.

Should be the trademark image for John Terry of 2012-2013. Sums it all up. Lost his way completely.

It's a game we can win. If we play like like we did against Chelsea in the first half, then they have no chance. No disrespect to them, but they just don't have the quality. If you're having to play Legierwood and Harte in your starting 11 in the PL, then you're clearly in the wrong league.

Would want Stoke and QPR wins out of those lot. (And us obviously!) Would move us further away from 18th, and drop Wigan and Villa deep into the ****. QPR would gain points, but I don't worry about them now. Think they're long gone, and it's not us they'll be trying to catch either. That set of results would probably almost secure us for another year. (As we'd be 7 pts clear)
-
Win our remaining home games and we're fine (WBA/WHU/Stoke) 9 points from our last 7 should be doable to be honest. Would give us 43 points and some breathing space as well I'd imagine. I doubt we'll even need as many as 9 to be honest. (if we can't manage 9 points from 27 with the fixtures we have remaining, then something has gone wrong!) It's too early to say we're safe, but I think we're in a position now (and with our run-in) where it would take something catastrophic for us to go. I think we're probably in a false position really, we're much better than the rabble down there. It's just our start has meant that we are down there. Based on our form since November we're no where near them, I see no reason why that shouldn't continue. Quality wise, I think we're on a different level to the likes of Wigan, Villa, Norwich, Reading etc.
-
Good old fashioned defending for me.
-
Too much can be made of pace. It's important to have drops of it in a side, but you don't need pace in every single position. You need someone with a good football head and touch, and a good touch combined with a good brain can often open up much more than raw pace can.

Would take Remy in a shot, although he's probably on a fortune.

QPR are painfully short on quality in specific area's, which will be their undoing. And they seem to have a painful lack of team spirit. Reading are simply short of quality full stop. I will stick my neck on the line here and say they're both long gone. For either to stay up they will need to win 80% of their remaining games, whilst also hoping that the teams above them lose every week. Not going to happen really.
-
Can't see anyway back for QPR or Reading now to be honest.
-
I don't think we're going to be spending close to that! Not sure why we need to buy a top RB anyway, as we already have one.
